Wide Receiver Dakorien Moore discusses his growth as a player
Oct 30, 2026
You're a leading organ in receiving yards as a sophomore.
So what would you say is the biggest difference
in you as a player this time this year to
this time last year?
Yeah, I would definitely say I would think
my maturity is the most different.
Being that I was fresh out of high school when I first got here.
Of course, some moments I wasn't really used to,
so I had to kind of adapt and stuff like that.
But I feel like now I'm more prepared, more aware of situations.
I know how to handle myself in certain situations.
I don't really act the same in certain situations.
Kind of like just like being a pro in most situations, I would say.
How did you learn that?
I mean, did you, was there a mentor
that kind of helped you through that?
Or how did you, you know, grow so much in your maturity?
Yeah, I would just say the guys
that I'm around every single day, of course, been around
guys like Dante and Dylan and last year Malik Benson,
Evan Stewart, you know, just been
around like older guys definitely helped me
just seeing like how they act, you know, in
situations that I've also been in, you know,
just the difference in that and the positivity
that they show and the positive outcomes
that they get in those situations, you know, so
just being that they were kind of like helpful
in those moments definitely just like carried
me through.
With the season maybe looking a little differently
than you might have imagined when the season began,
what's keeping you motivated as you guys enter
the last kind of stretch here?
Just being that I'll get the opportunity to go out there
and play football is motivating me itself.
I grew up playing this game.
We always say it's a child's game.
Go out there, have fun, you know, just let loose.
So that's what I pride myself on every time I step on the field.
You know, you're seven games in, five games left.
What would be maybe your message to Ducks fans right now?
I would say expect more explosive plays, expect more wins,
and just expect to turn up with us on the sidelines, man.
There's nothing like Odson.
That's for sure.
Nothing like Odson.
Especially on a Halloween night.
Are you going to dress up?
Do you have a costume planned?
If I did, I wouldn't give no hints, but just wait and see.
Just wait and see.
You've played for a lot of coaches in your life.
What makes Coach Dan Lanning different than some
of the other coaches you've played for?
Yeah, the reason that I came here in the first place,
I see him taking risks, you know, so once I seen that, I was like,
yeah, this is the guy I want to play for. So he's like that,
you know, every practice, whether it's fourth and one,
fourth and two, third and whatever, punt, kickoff return, you know,
every situation, he's coming up with something to change the game.
And that's what I love about him.
So we have leadership things that, you know, we do as a team.
We go on a hike.
During the offseason, so I would just say that the team bonding things
that we do, going bowling, we have a thing called Duck Olympics
that we do where we divide our team into groups.
And we know we just like find ways to gain connection with one another.
I would just say like things like that just make him special.
So I appreciate different things.
