This young swan was in trouble
and the reason is actually more serious than you might think.
See he had a fishing lure stuck in his neck
and he had also swallowed a bunch of fishing line.
So this brave man from the waterfowl sanctuary stepped in to help.
The rescuer tried to calm
down the swan before he could get to work
and after he situated the swan he began to get out
his tools to do the job.
The man could tell this wasn't going
to be an easy job especially having
him to hold the swan down so he tried to do it as quick as possible.
First he got out a metal
detector so he could detect all the spots where hooks
were in the swan. It would make it a lot
easier for him if he knew where the hooks
are before he started trying to take them out.
Minutes passed and he still was hard at work trying
to get the hook out. The swan was being
very patient
but you could
tell he was
going through
a lot of pain.
The man got
out his
toolkit because this is where he was going
to put all the hooks he gets out of the swan's neck.
The man had successfully
removed the hook,
but now he needed to get
the line out of the swan's
throat. And that's just as hard as it sounds,
because he's gonna have to pull the line out of
the swan's throat without it moving or it could get seriously injured.
The man begins to clean
the area where the hook was, that way it won't get infected,
and now he's trying to feel around
for where the line is inside the swan's throat.
The man begins to slowly inch the line up from
the swan's neck, and he finally gets a little bit out
of the swan's mouth, so now he can start
getting it out.
After a few minutes of tugging he finally gets
to the last bit of the line,
and once he gets it out the onlookers reactions
are priceless. But the man still needed to get
the swan back in the water
because all of his friends were sitting around squawking for the
swan to come back. So the man picked up the swan
and he brought him back down to the lake where he
had found him, and just like that taking
a few minutes out of his day he saved an animal's life.
