I've never met more loyal, passionate,
and committed people in my life, and that really
has changed my outlook on politics in a bit of a way.
The campaign got dirty very fast.
I am saddened by that.
I was sad to see that happen in Canada.
I think I just on an interview just now thought it
was probably the most dirty campaign I've
seen in a Canadian election,
and it's unfortunate that that's what it has to come to.
But it is what it is.
I'm proud of the fact that we stayed to our vision.
Our vision was not for us.
Our vision was for our children, our grandchildren,
and their grandchildren.
And we wanted to build a Winnipeg
that they would be proud of, a Winnipeg
that they would feel safe in, and a Winnipeg that
moves forward where they can build a career
and where they can start their own families
and really call this place home.
Give them the city that they deserve.
Thank you.
I want to thank
the media.
I want to thank you all for the coverage that you gave the election
and the information that you provided to Winnipeggers.
I think sometimes you don't get mentioned enough
because you do a lot of work during a campaign.
You're in and out of press conferences all the time
and hit with many different things.
So to every one of the media here, camera people, reporters,
journalists, everybody, producers, thank you so much.
for doing what you did for Winnipeg and covering the election.
So thank you for that.
Last but not least, I want to thank my hero.
Heather probably is getting mad at me for saying this,
but she has been going through a battle with breast cancer,
and she has been a rock during this entire campaign,
and she has stuck beside me.
She's been my champion, making sure that I stayed positive,
making sure that I stayed focused on what the objective was.
And I couldn't have done it without you.
So thank you very much.
