High tides cause flooding in Marin County

Welcome back to Fox Local. I have a new picture to show you here before we get back to that event as it looks like it's wrapping up in Oakland. Take a look at your screen. Such a familiar story for the third day in a row now. At least Sky Fox has been over flooding in Marin County. This is obviously a low lying part of Marin County. We've seen this happening in Mill Valley for the past couple of days. I think even going back to the weekend. This is not the result of too much rain coming from the sky. This is the result of high tides. king tides pushing that water up where it usually does not reach. Although when we talked with the CHP about this localized flooding a few days ago, I think it was the back half of last week, actually. The Caltrans spokesperson actually, it was, he said that we should expect flooding for about the next week or so in the areas that usually see flooding. And take a look at this. I think when our helicopter SkyFox was over on the other side of this white van, it looked like it was a floral shop like a flower delivery perhaps underway obviously two people on either side of the van i don't know if there's still someone inside and cue the canoe right our producer Sylvia is at the controls here and this is something we have seen every single time every day this week we brought you a live picture from SkyFox we see people sort of you know taking advantage of the water getting out in it so we've seen canoes we've seen people on stand-up paddle boards we have seen people on bicycles. We saw someone on an e-bike yesterday. So as we just sort of watch them navigate the waters here, you can tell the water is at least more than halfway up the wheels or tires. You can see, I don't know if these guys are going to try to, looks like they're going to try to push the van. Wow. All right, let's just go ahead and hang on this just for one quick minute. I don't know that we'll get any sort of usable sound from the helicopter, but this is just, You know, again, for the third time this week, we see SkyFox over high tides in Marin County, pushing the water up on streets. We'll just sort of sit on this picture for a quick minute and then we'll take another short break. But wanted to bring this to you as soon as we got it in our newsroom.
