What if the future of farming is actually about going back to the way we used to grow food?

Here in Umbria, Italy, I visited Quintosapore, where Nicola and his family are combining natural farming, regenerative agriculture, ancient farming techniques and modern technology to grow food in a way that works with nature, rather than against it.

I spent the day with Nicola, one of the founders, exploring how his family transformed abandoned land into a thriving farm inspired by the natural ecosystems around them.

From rebuilding soil and developing natural treatments for crops, to restoring ancient vineyards and using high-tech equipment to preserve the quality of their produce, their approach challenges so much of what we've come to accept about modern farming.

As someone who's become increasingly passionate about growing my own food here in Italy, this conversation reminded me just how connected our food, soil, health and environment really are.

In this documentary, we explore natural farming, regenerative farming, soil health, biodiversity, agroforestry, ancient agricultural techniques and the future of sustainable farming.

I hope it inspires you to think a little differently about where your food comes from — and the incredible amount of care that goes into growing it.

🌿 ROOTED IN ITALY
This is Episode 1 of Rooted in Italy, a new series where I’m travelling across Italy to meet the farmers, growers and producers behind the food we eat — learning how they work with the land, what they’re doing differently, and what we can take from their way of living and growing.

There is so much more I want to explore, so subscribe to follow the journey.
