AI GeneratedJonathan Davenport secures his 19th career World of Outlaws victory at the Modoc 100, claiming a $25,000 prize. The race was characterized by intense battles, high-speed contact, and dramatic late-race failures, including a heartbreaking exit for Bobby Pierce just one lap before the finish.
Ding, ding. We're in the ring.
Let's rock and roll with the World of Outlaws and the Modoc 100.
Into turn number one. The number one, Tyler Erb,
will take the early race lead from the outside of the front row.
Cody Overton going to look to his inside racing into turn number three.
Turbo will jump out up front early.
He'll come around here to lead lap number one.
Nick Hoffman and McCready going at it for the seventh position,
both of them battling hard and they also reel in the 157 to Marler.
Nick Hoffman gets around McCready and the 157 to Marler
and Nick Hoffman in the sixth position. Two for the price
of one there on this last go around for Nick Hoffman in the nine.
Marler to his outside, those two still side by side.
Hoffman right around the bottom.
Travel right around the bottom, playing
some defense here up the racetrack.
He goes, Cody has high side momentum, side-by-side for the lead,
side-by-side for third.
Oh, man, Modoc Speedway getting racy.
Oh, contact in turn number one.
Oh, damage.
Two turbos, number one car down the wall.
Cody Overton takes the lead.
45 laps to go.
Now, Hudson O'Neal looking to the inside
of Davenport for the fourth position.
Can Hudson get something going here in the sixth?
And Cody Overton's in the wall.
Tyler Erb takes the lead.
And a right rear flat tire on the 97 of Overton.
I'm sure that coming from the contact made between him and Turbo.
And 44 laps to go.
Cody Overton, let's take a look
at the Dirt Vision replay leading the race.
Oh, off the pace.
Off the pace into the wall.
Take a look at that contact
for the lead again.
Cody Overton rubbing on the one of Tyler Erb.
Oh man, and I do believe Cody Overton has taken it back pit side.
I don't see him in the fast one
speed shop hotbed as we continue to look
at the dirt vision replays here. Guston picked the top
side at Davenport to his inside, trying to take second.
Tyler Erb to the top side. Oh boy, Ryan Guston
picked the top. It did not pay dividends for him
as now Davenport goes through, and here comes Nick
Hoffman to his inside, battling for the third position.
Down the front straightaway,
Ryan Guston will have third and he'll hold off the number nine
and Nick Hoffman working down the back straightaway,
Jonathan Davenport going to send it in, slide job for the lead,
up the racetrack he goes, he clears Turbo, down the front straightaway,
Turbo, crank cross him over, new race leader, Jonathan Davenport.
Tyler picked that top side.
Ryan Guston picked that top, but it didn't work out for him earlier,
so it's probably a gift that he got the bottom, and yes it is.
As he gets around Tyler for second,
here comes Guston up to the runner-up position in the 19R.
We take a look at the battle between
Tyler Erb, the 6, the Hudson O'Neal.
Those two going at it.
tooth and nail for the third position, give it to Tyler Erb,
Hudson O'Neal to his inside, and here comes Hudson,
down the back straightaway, those two go into turn number three,
and Hudson O'Neal has it, he'll take third,
the top two in the world about points standings going in,
and here for position, down the back straightaway, Pierce trying
to take seventh away from the nine, and Nick Hoffman, Pierce.
Ripping the top side, he's got it.
Here comes the 32, my goodness. 21st to 7th, up 14 positions.
What an amazing stat Peyton Williams brought up earlier.
He's passed, what, 250 cars in feature action.
The 32 continues to roll around here with 32 laps to go.
Top fives on the year looking for his third here this season. Pierce.
Trying to get around Tyler Erb,
down the front straightaway, and he does.
The 32 moves up another position, into sixth, goes the 32.
The home crowd of his ASD Motorsports team now Pierce
the inside of McCready,
and he will take fifth.
Down the back straightaway, here comes the 32, appears for McCready,
denies the 32.
As he gets back around and throws a slider,
McCready not going anywhere here.
He has the position down the front straightaway with 27 laps to go.
Heartbreak for Brandon Overton in the 76.
He was slow on the back straightaway and takes it into the infield.
Brandon Overton's night is going to come
to an end in the Riggs Motorsports number 76.
They look into the inside of Jonathan Davenport for the lead.
Davenport holds him off.
Now Davenport, it is decision time for him
as they approach the tail end of the field.
That is Dalton Wilson, Bobby Pierce,
and Mills going at it for the fourth position.
Mills currently in a career best of fourth.
Pierce trying to get around him.
And Pearce will wheel and deal
and get around the 14 down the back straightaway.
Trey Mills back to the inside of the 32 of Pearce.
Two by two around the speedway.
Battle for second.
Battle for third.
Oh, contact between Hudson and Pearce.
They touch into turn three.
Pearce catches the concrete again.
Car pitched sideways.
He'll now get around Hudson O'Neal.
Looking good, but now he may have another problem
as the 32 is going to take second from Gustin.
Off of turn number two, Gustin going to go back to his inside.
The Outlaws going at it here for the second spot.
Gustin right around the bottom of the
racetrack, Pierce with high side momentum,
and down the front straightaway,
the 32 of Pearce is up to second with ten laps to go.
Down the back straightaway, Davenport hangs on in the lead.
The intensity building, oh, Pearce is off the pace!
Pierce is off the pace!
Oh, man, the 32 finds himself off the pace
and into the infield,
and the 32 isn't even going to the Fast 1 Speed Shop hot pit.
He is going straight to the back of the infield, indicating...
And his night is going to be done.
One lap away from a $25,000 payday.
But when big money's on the line,
the Cooney Motorsports team has a reputation of always being there
and taking the money.
Does the Reaper strike tonight off of corner number four?
It's going to be Superman Jonathan Davenport leading it off of four
and wins his 19th career World of Outlaws victory.
He picks up $25,000 for the first time in 2026.
He's a World of Outlaws feature winner, Superman, Jonathan Davenport.
Sport.
Well, good thing I ain't got a rearview mirror,
because I really don't know where they was at.
I didn't know where I was best at or worst at.
What a phenomenal racetrack.
I wasn't in love with it last night, but it was better than old Modoc.
But tonight, man, I loved it.
It was really good.
You had to really hit your marks to where you
was going to run at on the racetrack.
You could really slip and not get back going the other way.
It's just so icy slick, and there
were a couple times I thought I'd run in one way too hard,
and I'm like, oh, no, don't do what Cody did,
and it was pretty treacherous, really.
And then finally that little bit left,
and so then I just moved back off of that.
And, wow, just it's...
The wall is oddly shaped too,
so like you're against the wall, then you're off the wall,
then you get back on it. It's real technical for sure,
and then we, then it moved back to the
bottom, and I couldn't really make up no ground
on them lap cars where I was running, you know,
kind of floating through the middle to the top,
and then so I moved around, and Corey was trying
to point up or down or in. I don't know what he was doing.
I think he was just telling me,
do whatever you need to do, so just.
Just really cool, you know, to be able to move through the field.
I felt like we had a really good car there when I got behind Guston
and I could start moving around to where he wouldn't
and I could find a little speed there.
So I just need everything to go right there.
And I tried to slide him a couple times in –
Three and four down there and I just didn't quite have him cleared
so I left him a lane up there
and uh so I was hoping he was gonna do that to me later on if he'd
if he'd got a run on me
but anyway just uh thanks to my guys uh we just kept talking
about this thing and we didn't really know what
to do here obviously uh nobody did
but Cody seems like
but uh we just listened to the car instead of listening to uh
what we normally do so we went
a little bit different direction for the feature and this
thing was really really good so thanks to Corey
and Tyler you know they basically do this on their
own and uh so just uh can't say it enough about them
and uh also uh of course Lance and Earl
Landers for giving me this opportunity,
Steve Martin with Ace Duran and Nutrient Ag Solutions
Also ASC warranty for everything they do for us.
Longhorn, everybody back at the shop, thank you all so much from the
chassis department to assembly to in the shock room with Matt and Joe.
Just a phenomenal job and really listen to me bitching a lot
and actually listen to me and give me what I need.
So just thanks for Steve, you know,
also and John and Paul, all those at Longhorn.
I'm not born.
Yeah, just what a night.
I don't even really know what to say.
It's awesome to have my family here.
I don't ever hardly get to race
in South Carolina or anywhere close to here,
and we've got friends and family, and just really happy.
