Today we're tasting the most expensive food
at every restaurant from secret fast food menu items
that is exceptionally funky to billionaire steaks.
It's fantastic. Let's find out if the
world's most expensive foods are actually worth the price.
And we are starting off with KFC's
most expensive single menu item, the chicken pot pie for $8.77.
It's apparently been finger
finger licking good on the menu for over 30 years.
It has this beautiful golden crust that looks very crispy,
kind of standard looking pot pie interior,
but some really nicely sized pieces of chicken.
Let's taste.
Pretty good. That tastes like one thing and one thing only.
Thanksgiving dinner in bowl shape.
It's got a really nice kind of like custardy gravy flavor in there.
The chicken doesn't taste super
high quality. It tastes kind of dry even though it's in there,
but I actually really like the
flavor. This tastes exactly like frozen chicken pot pie
that was put in an oven and I love it.
I'm not gonna lie, it is very salty
and what I don't love is there's basically this little
Puff pastry hat over the pot pie,
and if you look close, there's no actual pie crust.
It's just like a soup at the bottom,
puff pastry over the top, which feels a little cheap to me.
I will say, that middle, soggy little piece, mmm.
See, Sophia likes soggy foods for some reason.
Also, Sophia, let me get you a plate here.
It's so good.
You're not going to get a plate for Sophia. Come on.
Can I get a plate?
We'll work towards that.
All right.
Keep in mind, though, we are tasting literally
the most expensive items from every restaurant in America,
so your scores should reflect that.
All right, if we all score the same, I'm still going for that $2,000.
I'll give Max 10 to 1 odds, so if I don't get it, you get 20.
Dude, I'm spending so much money on this video, that seems crazy.
Honestly, not bad for a first of the day.
Next up, we got Popeye's Honey Barbecue Bacon
and Cheese Sandwich for $8.99.
And this right here is a beast of a fried chicken sandwich.
Unlike the mayo I'm used to seeing on a classic Popeye's sandwich,
it looks like we have some barbecue sauce,
a couple decent pieces of bacon,
a slice of Havarti cheese,
that extra crispy Popeye's chicken we all know and love,
a couple pickles, and more barbecue.
I mean, it looks insane.
Insane, but at 30% more expensive than the original.
Let's see if it's worth the price.
Not gonna lie, my mouth just watered.
This looks so good.
Now we're talking.
Whoa.
Popeye's is by far the best fried chicken sandwich spot.
I like it more than Chick-fil-A, obviously more than KFC.
You know what's crazy?
You agree with me.
You know what?
That deserves a plate.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Kyle, there's something about the flavor
of the chicken combined with that pickle
and then with the sweet barbecue sauce that ties it all together.
This is phenomenal.
It is crispy too.
Oh yeah. The bacon's actually crunchy
and Popeyes does the best job at making the breading actually
crunchy when you eat it. I like their original sandwich a lot.
This one's a little bit better.
It's better. I was worried that adding all
these things to an already perfect sandwich would kind
of take away from the simplicity aspect of it,
but I'm absolutely loving this. This combination might
be one of the best fried chicken sandwiches I've ever had.
I agree. Definitely for fast food.
Keep in mind, our most expensive
is literally over 100 times more than this.
We have made it to Taco Bell and the Cantina Chicken Bowl for $10.48.
Over $10 for a single item at Taco Bell feels like a crime,
but this honestly looks like a decent amount of food.
The chicken, black beans, and vegetables look
Pretty good.
We got some cheese, sour cream, and a crema,
but this guac is looking a bit brown.
All things considered, it does look like a well-balanced meal.
Let's see if it's something that's actually worth ordering.
Something about Taco Bell lettuce that is undeniable.
That's what I like to call fast food lettuce.
Yes.
It has that not super fresh taste.
I mean, this is the biggest conspiracy since sliced bread.
The lettuce at these places, they all share it in some sick...
Inbred lettuce situation.
You're talking about inbred lettuce on the third thing of the day?
You know what I'm talking about.
They do too.
Please tell me this is the last conspiracy of the day, Cal.
We'll see about that.
However, I am very impressed with this as a cohesive bite.
There's super nice flavors.
The chicken, not the most juicy.
I think it's all the vegetables.
The tomatoes also have that fast food flavor, even the cabbage.
And then the rice is kind of mushy.
It's like a soggy rice, not like a firm rice.
The rice is definitely a low point.
I do not like the rice.
I err on the side of more of a salsa-y bowl than a creamy bowl.
So personal preference, I wouldn't get this order.
I don't like it.
I don't think this is half as good as Chipotle.
I think if you're trying to be somewhat healthy
and you're going to Taco Bell,
well, one, you probably shouldn't be doing that.
But two, if you do want to be slightly healthy,
I feel like these are whole foods, real pieces of chicken.
You got some grains,
you got some potentially inbred lettuce,
all things considered, it's not a bad option.
The chicken is actually really good.
And mixed with the guac,
and then you get a little sour cream,
those bites are tasty.
It's just overall not great.
Oh, you know, I'm in for a good time when Max gasps.
Dude, that sounds weird, but you know what I mean.
What?
Next up, the one and only Dairy Queen
and the Triple Backyard Bacon Ranch Signature
Stack Burger for $11.39, and for a place mostly known for ice cream,
I am extremely impressed
visually.
We got some ranch on top, very crispy looking bacon,
these two jumbo onion rings, then not
one, not two, but three patties, and some barbecue sauce below.
I'm not gonna say that beef looks particularly juicy, but sometimes
This looks can be deceiving, over 10 bucks for this burger.
I'm not going to say gourmet, but I do like it.
I do not like the cheese.
It has a funk.
There's some funk.
In a good way, though.
I thought that that was coming from the cheese.
It was almost like a cheese whiz or like a...
It is from the cheese, I think.
It has that kind of deep, funky note to it.
Something is going on today because usually
I wouldn't like this and they would.
Now I like it and they don't.
Is this another one of your conspiracies?
Yes, it might be.
I think the standout for me is the relationship between
the barbecue sauce and the ranch,
which is very interesting because one's like...
Abusive?
I hope not.
Because one of them is kind of sweet,
another one's a little bit more creamy and herbaceous,
and they're on different sides of the sandwich.
So the way they all kind of form together, and I like it.
I really liked that they did not skimp on the patty situation.
There's three stacked on top of each other,
but the onion ring isn't really doing it for me.
Oh, big range today.
Wow, huge range today.
Honestly, not bad.
But if you're going to DQ, at least in my opinion,
you got to get the blizzard.
It is time for the one and only McDonald's
and the double bacon quarter pounder with cheese for
$11.59 and this one is a classic for a reason.
Ketchup with those thick cut onions and pickles,
some applewood smoked bacon,
and of course the quarter pounder patties. Very impressive
looking sear for fast food with just a kiss
of mustard on the bottom bun. And honestly,
this cross section looks 10 times better than
the Dairy Queen burger we just tasted.
You know, I once had a birthday party at McDonald's
and like they had that jungle gym thing.
They had the ball pit.
Yes.
I used to love that thing.
It was actually my birthday this weekend.
Guys, everybody down in the comments wish Kyle a happy birthday.
If you don't, he's probably going to go home and cry.
Did you make a birthday wish this year?
I don't have the best track record with that.
Happy birthday to you.
Gee whiz.
Thanks, guys.
All right.
Make a wish.
Fish.
Wish I didn't have to work anymore and I was rich.
You're fired.
Dang it.
Also, we changed your name to Rich.
This is good. Yeah. Wow. This is a lot better than the Dairy Queen one.
Way better. Yeah. I'm liking the onion, weirdly.
That's the first thing I taste in a good way.
It's like that crunch.
It also sounds crazy, but the beef is way higher quality at McDonald's.
It has that luscious,
tender bite to it that we were very much missing at DQ. You're right,
and it's slightly like fluffy, a little airy,
but in a good way. It kind of feels
like a backyard burger somehow. I agree.
The meat is way like lighter. It's not just
Crazy dense.
The bacon's a little bit soft and fatty.
I would like it a little bit crunchier,
but like all in all, I'm really enjoying this.
I was gonna say,
do you guys think this burger needs bacon?
I actually didn't even taste the bacon,
even though I took a bite of it.
It probably doesn't need it,
unless it's like really crispy and nice.
That onion and pickle really do make this so much better.
Very tight.
This is a great showing for McDonald's.
This is a good burger.
They do it right.
Next up, we got Sonic
and the All-American Bacon Triple Sonic Smasher for $11.82.
That name is a mouthful, and this burger looks like one too.
Just smothered in mayo, ketchup, and a whole bunch of vegetables.
Surprisingly nice looking tomatoes with bacon,
and an absolutely monster triple smash patty
with a pretty nice looking sear.
Sonic usually isn't my go-to,
but all things considered, I'm feeling optimistic.
Looks like we have a whole salad in here.
Right?
Sonic just goes bananas with all the toppings.
Do you taste anything?
Just got a bite of like six pieces of bacon, three burgers,
and a whole salad of mayo on top, and I don't taste anything.
All I taste is pickles.
And mayo.
Crazy how much worse this is than the last burger.
It looks good.
It does look good.
It kind of reminds me of the Taco Bell bowl,
but like in burger form, there's just so much
sauce.
The lettuce and the vegetables have that fast food flavor.
And then the meat is okay, actually.
But it doesn't taste like anything.
It doesn't taste like anything.
Literally nothing.
I only taste salt.
It's because it's overwhelmed by the toppings.
No, but I don't even taste toppings.
I'm not kidding, dude.
If you taste the beef by itself, it's not horrible.
It is kind of chewy, actually.
Oh, it's crazy how much better that McDonald's one was than this one.
There's so much mayo on there, too.
It is just this overwhelming creaminess.
I'll give them credit on the bacon
because the bacon actually is pretty crispy.
It's nicely cooked.
To your point, Kyle, I do like the texture
of the bacon, but that's about it.
Oh man. How are we all in the twos?
Because that was a bad burger. But their cherry limeade is
great. We have made it to Burger King
and the Triple Whopper for a whopping $12.19. And man,
this one brings the beef. I mean, it is heavy.
Looks like we have the classic Whopper toppings
with some fresh looking tomatoes, onions,
and pickles, followed by three, yes,
Three of those Burger King flame grilled patties.
It looks strange not having cheese in there
to break up all that meat.
I just hope it isn't overwhelming
and still a satisfying bite.
Do you prefer three single patties
or one really thick patty?
Question I've never thought of before.
Yeah, me too.
Well, until now.
Tastes so much better than Sonic. Night and day.
The beef is juicy like a backyard burger.
It's still very mayo heavy, but it's a good mayo.
And I think that comes down to the vegetables,
they just taste a bit better on this one.
And the beef, it really does taste like a backyard burger.
The texture of the burger patties are phenomenal. I think...
Possibly even better than the McDonald's ones.
And you get that extreme char-grilled flavor
from these patties specifically.
What I will say is the Whopper
is already a perfectly executed sandwich.
When you increase the meat proportion
and don't increase the sauce and vegetable proportion,
things start to get a little out of whack.
I agree.
I'd rather eat two Whoppers than one triple Whopper.
The single Whopper is just so perfectly balanced.
Juicy.
It's so juicy.
Look how juicy that burger is.
Look at that.
That is all juice dripping in.
I think the triple patty did it a disservice.
I'd much rather eat a normal Whopper,
hence my 8.8 for a normal Whopper.
Speaking of meat,
we have made it to the Arby's Half Pound Cheese Steak for $12.99.
Interestingly, they claim to use thinly shaved Angus steak
as opposed to their signature
roast beef, but man, it looks like they absolutely load this thing up.
Tons of melty American cheese in there
with some peppers and onions.
Not what I normally order,
but as the most expensive menu item,
I'm hoping it'll be good.
Emergency blueberry break.
It is way too early for that.
So let me just recap,
you present this to me,
you open the tab,
which clearly implies you did not wash these.
His whole life he's done this.
He just refuses to wash fruit.
And I think that has something to do
with how he's turned out.
Max, that's like not seasoning your steak.
It's crazy.
There's flavor on these.
That's disgusting.
9.6 on these blueberries are delicious.
Wow. Is this from Arby's? I love that texture.
It's just like a mushy, delicious bite.
But the bread has this like doughiness
and chewiness that counteracts all the mushiness.
I feel like weirdly, if I was in Philadelphia
at a really high level Philly cheesesteak spot
and you serve this to me, I'd be like, this is legit.
Exactly what I was going to say, Max.
The bread gives it a nice structure.
I would prefer it a little bit less mushy on the inside.
However, when you have these contrasting textures,
the mushiness and the very structured bread,
it's really good.
This is so much better than the roast beef sandwiches.
Oh, man.
It's not even close.
It's shocking how much different those two items are.
Yeah.
Especially the fact that the roast beef is the more popular item.
It's what they're known for.
Do not get that.
This is 10 times better.
I know Arby's has the meats,
but I'm telling you there's something about this bread
that is the standout for me.
It's almost like a freshly baked slash boiled legit.
New York bagel in terms of that chewiness.
Shockingly high scores and it deserves it.
Time for another classic with Chick-fil-A's Market Salad
with Chicken for $13.19.
Now I was today years old when I learned Chick-fil-A even sells a salad
and I wanted to be a hater
but this actually looks legit.
There is a massive portion of chicken,
just these jumbo pieces of grilled breast meat
and some surprisingly fresh looking fruits and cheeses.
If I'm going to Chick-fil-A,
the last thing on my mind is a salad, but based on how this
is looking, perhaps that should change.
All right, try to get it all in one bite.
Some of that cheese, chicken.
I love the vinaigrette. The lettuce is fresh. The chicken tastes good.
I know my way around a vegetable and a fruit.
I don't always like mixing the two.
It feels like there's this underlying flavor of fast food,
even with the fruit. I don't love this.
Look, if you're going to Chick-fil-A and you're getting a salad,
then there's something questionable going on here.
However, I'm impressed with the salad.
The chicken feels legit.
It's not deep fried.
It doesn't have any weird brine flavors.
The actual lettuce is really nice.
Look at those strawberries.
Those are some extremely fresh looking pieces of fruit here.
I am just confused that this is coming from Chick-fil-A.
Because when I think of Chick-fil-A,
I think of delicious fried chicken.
I don't think of delicious grilled chicken salad.
However, sort of like the Taco Bell situation,
if you're looking for a healthy option
and you find yourself at Chick-fil-A,
this is not bad.
I also think the amount of chicken you get is really nice.
You cannot skimp out.
What?
Am I way too low?
You cannot skimp out.
You cannot skimp out.
Dude, the salad from Chick-fil-A is in the sevens?
Yes.
Next up, we got Wendy's and something that's more up my alley
with the Pretzel Bacon Pub Triple Cheeseburger for $14.36.
And this thing looks wild.
We got that pretzel bun
and a cheese sauce plus honey mustard mixed into the pickles,
fried onions, bacon, and looks like a monster cheese
sealing all three of these square patties together,
making this feel like a very premium.
fast food burger. Now this cross-section is looking meaty.
This is huge. I feel like these
burgers that are expensive
from a fast food place just go bananas on the meat.
Nom, nom, nom.
All I really taste is the bun. I don't taste anything.
That meat has no flavor. One, I could
barely get my mouth around it because it's huge.
That is not good. The bun is really all I'm
getting. I don't taste anything else.
The regular Dave's single is 10 times better than this.
This is not good.
I don't think these patties are seasoned at all.
Comparing this to McDonald's or Burger King,
this is a major step down, which is crazy
because in previous videos, we actually preferred Wendy's.
Yes, I think it depends on the item.
I still think I'm choosing the Whopper
as my favorite all-time fast food burger.
This is definitely not Wendy's best item.
I would not get that.
This might've just been a bad day for Wendy's too.
Let us know down in the comments
if you've had this burger or you like this one.
Are we just getting a bad batch?
Because I'm telling you, this is not good.
Wow, I almost went three.
It could have been lower.
That was a tough showing for Wendy's today.
This is a unique one.
We have Culver's North Atlantic Cod for $15.99.
Needless to say, fried cod is not what I
was expecting out of a place like Culver's
that's mostly known for burgers.
Absolutely perfect golden brown color
and surprisingly juicy looking fish.
Of course, dipping in their tartar sauce.
Let's see if it's worth the price tag.
This is like real fish.
This does not taste like fast food fish.
This is good.
It's flaky.
It's not fishy.
It tastes like some good quality cod that
I'm very shocked is from a burger fast food place,
not even like a fish fast food place.
How are they making this at a fast food restaurant?
They're frying it.
There's no way they're hand battering this at the restaurant.
That would make no sense for a fast food restaurant.
No, they are.
Obviously, I'm not a doctor.
I'm not entirely sure.
Culver's makes their stuff fresh because
when you order there, you have to wait for a while.
They're burgers too.
I bet you they dip these fresh.
Someone here works at Culver's.
Let us know if they make these fresh.
I am most impressed with the texture
and the flavor of the fish.
It's not mushy, it's not fishy, it's actually like
Flakes of delicious white fish.
It's like fresh cod.
I think it literally is fresh cod.
And it's juicy.
Like, look at the moisture in those little pieces.
And the dough on the outside.
It's almost like slightly sweet.
Kind of like a fried dough situation.
Though it is a bit greasy.
My favorite part of the breading is that it's not too thick.
It's very thin, which helps it stay
crispier than I think if it was too thick.
Whoa.
I love fish and chips.
Great showing for Culver's there.
Very impressive.
We have made it to Shake Shack's Shack Stack Burger
for an eye-watering $16.89.
For nearly $20, I was sort of expecting something bigger.
We got the classic Shake Shack bun and toppings,
but this deep-fried portobello mushroom
that's apparently stuffed with cheese is anything but classic.
I mean, this definitely seems like a high-level burger.
I just wonder if they over-complicated it just
so they could charge an outrageous price, but let's see.
Look at that cross section, whoa.
Like what's that mozzarella stick in there?
A little portabella stuff, portabella baby.
Wait, the cheese is literally inside of the layers?
Yeah, I don't know how they do it.
How the heck do you get the cheese in there?
You don't wanna know.
More!
Come on!
I want this cheese exploding in your faces, let's go!
What is that, 7,000 PSI?
We need 8,000.
Push it!
Push!
Push it Kyle!
Oh, yes.
Nice.
Shake Shack never cuts the end of their burger buns,
so it's always like a little pita pocket.
It's so annoying.
Guys, can we take a freaking bite?
No, no, we're going to talk about
that for another minute. Hang on, Max.
Sophia, how do you feel about that?
It feels horrible.
Yeah, it's pissing me off right now. Almost as much as Max's.
A pretty good flavor.
I like this, actually.
It is really good.
More than their normal burger.
Oh, whoa, whoa, I don't know about that.
Okay, the real move at Shake Shack is their chicken sandwich.
It's better than their burgers.
But I love a portobello on a burger.
That might elevate it above, but I prefer it not fried.
I like it grilled.
I disagree.
I actually really like the texture of the fried portobello.
It's like extremely mushroomy,
which is fine if that's what you're interested in.
But I don't really taste the beef,
and I also don't really taste the sauce.
Really, all I taste is fried.
I actually didn't even taste the portobello.
I just taste this cheesy fried situation.
I don't hate it.
It really becomes just like
a mushroom burger versus a hearty, beefy burger.
Not a fan of the mushroom stuff.
If you love mushrooms, I'd say it's worth trying.
Time for a classic,
we got Subway's Steak and Avocado Sandwich for a staggering $17.89.
Look, in my head, a Subway sandwich should never be more than $5,
so even though it looks kind of fresh,
this thing is gonna really have
to blow me away to make it feel worth it.
Do you guys remember back when Subway was actually $5 for a footlong?
They had that fun jingle, $5.
Five dollar, five dollar foot long.
Ho, ho, ho, ho.
Is there tuna in here?
You know what's going to be a rough one when the first question is,
is there tuna inside of the steak sandwich?
Something is giving tuna in here.
Maybe it's the vegetables?
Well, think about how Subway works.
There's the chicken, the steak, the lettuce, the tomatoes, the tuna.
It's all kind of in the same ballpark.
There's potentially some double dipping occurring.
All right, on the plus side, I think we got them
on a good day on their vegetables.
Yeah.
Well, really a good hour.
These are pretty fresh vegetables.
I'm not really vibing with the whole guacamole
and steak thing from here.
A good combo.
It's a weird combo.
I mean, obviously, Subway's not using
the highest quality steak in here, so.
The actual beef surprisingly feels similar
to like that Arby's cheesesteak.
Adding on the guacamole is not a combination I like to see.
And needless to say, for $17, it's got to be something special.
And this just isn't.
We're really in that same ballpark right now.
Yeah, it's a tight margin.
I mean, if this was still just $5 for a foot long,
the scores would be significantly higher.
Next up, we got Buffalo Wild Wings
and the Bacon Mac and Cheese Burger for $18.49.
Yes, over $18 for a burger from Buffalo Wild Wings.
Honestly, I'm starting to see why.
For starters, got some thick cut bacon.
And unless my eyes are failing me,
there seems to be a Parmesan crusted slice of mac and cheese
He's sitting directly over the double patties.
with some pickled peppers and sauce underneath.
This thing looks absolutely ridiculous in the best way possible.
Feeling fancy today?
We're eating a lot of rich food.
I need a pause, Kyle.
Look at the inside of the cup. That is potentially the dirtiest cup.
There's a dead bug in Sophia's cup. What? Oh my goodness.
I need the common sense. Like we're here. We got to get to here, Kyle.
We got new cups here. We haven't used these cups in over a year.
Yeah. So that means they're perfectly clean.
I like the idea here. I just,
I'm going to wash the cups. Here we go.
Someone take my keys. I can't drive home.
Dude, that's a cross section right there. Is that macaroni?
I think there's a jalapeno on here.
I think it's like a whole pickled jalapeno.
That jalapeno is definitely the highlight for me.
Everything else kind of mushes together a little bit.
But not in the worst way.
Yeah.
I think I need to see a doctor after that bite.
Somebody say they need a doctor?
If I'm being honest, my annual checkup is way overdue,
which is why I'm excited to announce
the sponsor of today's video, ZocDoc.
What usually stops me from booking an appointment is the process.
Calling an office, being put on hold,
only to find out they don't take my insurance.
We don't accept that.
The whole process honestly just adds to the anxiety.
That's where ZocDoc comes in.

This is one of those sandwiches where,
let me just paint a picture, your pet hamster just died,
you got a D on your report card,
it's raining, it's the day after vacation,
so you gotta go back into school,
you're feeling low, but you're driving home,
Hi!
you see B-dubs, this is the sandwich you order
for some short-term pleasure.
I was ready to not like this burger
because I usually don't order these sorts of like extra
heavy burgers. I like something a little bit fresher.
It's actually pretty good. The thing is,
it is extremely greasy because there's just so much.
There's bacon, there's mac and cheese. I
think the mac and cheese is like fried
or something. It is. It's like a skirt on it.
Also the bacon, some bites are awesome.
Some bites are quite fatty. They don't need it in
that sandwich. But all in all, I like this burger.
I think I'd be able to finish like
Like three bites of this burger, then I might fall.
Fall into a coma.
Yeah, I feel like you have to be on the way to your doctor,
specifically your heart doctor.
If any viewers are looking for a new primary care physician,
just, you know where to find me.
Is your profile uploaded to Zocdoc?
Not yet.
We're close today.
We are?
This is like once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, we're locked in today.
This sandwich is also a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity
because I don't think you're surviving.
It is time for Firehouse Subs and the Smokin' Honey Steak Melt
for 1980, and this is what I'm talking about.
Looks like a massive, beefy, and saucy sandwich.
We got shaved steak, melty provolone, caramelized peppers
and onions just smothered in that honeyed chipotle sauce.
This is one I'm excited to take a bite.
Bite out of.
Immediately love it.
It's a very steaky bite,
but it actually tastes like steak.
Compared to Subway, night and day.
You get everything too.
You get the flavor of the meat.
You get the flavor of these vegetables
and they're crunchy, but they're also cooked.
Yeah.
So you get a little more flavor.
Sometimes cooked vegetables get soggy.
These still maintain that crunch.
Okay, the one thing for me.
Too saucy for Kyle.
It's too saucy for me.
I don't like Russian dressing.
I think I would much prefer this with a different sauce.
I don't know what sauce.
That's a limited downside for me.
The sandwich is great.
Taste the meat on its own.
Actually has flavor.
It tastes like the Costco pre-sliced steak.
You read my mind.
That is exactly what I was thinking.
Exactly what I was thinking too, Cynthia.
Where do you get all this produce from?
My mom packed me these today for lunch.
Wow, tight margin.
Tight rip, isn't that?
Honestly, one of the best subs I've ever had.
We are kicking up the heat with Dave's Hot Chicken
and the top-loaded Spicy Buffalo Mac,
crossing $20 and loaded up looks like an understatement.
Ranch, buffalo sauce,
and hot fried chicken are piled over both French fries and macaroni,
which is wild.
As always, the Dave's Hot Chicken still looks super juicy,
and I am very excited.
Don't worry.
Why are you using your hands, bro?
Guys, be respectable human beings.
Jeez.
Come on, Sophia.
You're going to use your hands?
I kind of want to just like mush it all in one bite.
Sophia can do that.
All right, fine.
You know what?
I respect that.
It's a more complex flavor than buffalo.
It has this kind of...
Cajun Nashville hot flavor,
even though it's supposed to be Buffalo.
I love the chicken and I love the mac and cheese.
I don't like the French fries.
I think they're too kind of soggy, starchy.
Yeah, they're very soggy.
And it makes the texture of the mac and cheese
feel starchy instead of yummy and gooey.
I'm not loving it.
I'm slightly disappointed with this.
Really?
It's a little bit too much.
I much prefer Buffalo chicken to Nashville hot chicken.
I think they say this is Buffalo,
but I'm not really tasting Buffalo.
I think if it was more like a poutine
with some fried chicken on top
with some crispy fries at the bottom,
it would work a lot better.
But the problem is once you add all three of these,
inherently you're gonna have soggy fries
and chicken's not gonna be as crispy.
And the mac and cheese is just like,
am I a French fries?
Am I a mac and cheese?
Like, what am I?
Definitely an overwhelming bite, but I still liked it.
Back in burger territory with Five Guys
Triple Bacon Cheeseburger for 21.95.
That is very steep, but this looks very big.
Went heavy on the toppings since those are free.
I got three of those
Thick cut burger patties.
Honestly, very impressive amount of legit crispy bacon.
I mean, this burger is literally as tall as it is wide.
Curious if it's worth such an expensive price.
I love Five Guys.
Me too.
And I also love the restaurant, Sophia.
How do you feel?
You gotta like all the toppings or else it's not worth it.
I like that you get all those toppings,
but it's not doused in too much sauce,
but it's still juicy. The patties are actually beefy.
You know what? I'm knocking this down a point.
Something was really hard in this burger.
I think my one negative with Five Guys
is their bacon is always kind of soggy.
It does sort of have that really thin microwaved vibe to it.
Which I usually would like, but it just gets lost in the...
Sauce.
Yeah.
The crunchiness of the vegetables are a standout,
but for me it's all about the beef.
Beef has that super tender, almost crumbly,
but still very fresh tasting beef,
completely different than like Sonic or DQ.
To me, this is the best patty of the day so far.
It's also the most homemade tasting patty.
This tastes like if you loosely form a patty at home,
which is what you want to go for.
You want it to kind of fall apart as you're biting it.
You don't want to be biting into like a dense meatball.
The fact that this burger is over $20 is shocking.
To be fair, there's three patties on there.
There's a lot of meat.
Three patties, $20 for a burger?
It's crazy.
Dude, that's actually shocking.
That's definitely going to affect the score,
but in terms of quality,
if you're into this style of heavy, greasy burger,
it's going to be top tier.
Ooh.
I deducted a point for almost breaking my tooth on this.
That's unacceptable.
Absolutely crazy price for a burger, but...
Might have been worth it.
We are moving on to Jersey Mike's
and the big kahuna cheesesteak pushing us over 23 bucks.
Overall looks very fresh with some nice bread.
Honestly, doesn't seem like it has a ton of beef in here,
but sometimes well-balanced proportions like this
actually tastes best.
For being a big kahuna,
there's not really a big kahuna of meat in here.
I like this more than, what was the other one?
Firehouse.
Terrible take.
No, it's not.
This is a huge step down.
I agree with Kyle.
I like the flavor of this one way better.
Let me appreciate this moment for a second.
That side of the room is no longer
in full-on collusion mode against this seat right here.
First and foremost, the bread, way worse here.
This is like stale, terrible bread.
Max.
Second of all, remember the thickness of that beef
and the tenderness of that beef from Jersey Mike's?
Compare that to this.
This is shaved.
This is low quality.
No flavor and dry.
Dry, Kyle, it's dry.
I can't tell if you're joking right now or not.
One, this bread is light and fluffy and delicious.
Two, these thin pieces of meat
all have a nice little crust on them, which I love.
It's not overloaded with a Russian dressing.
It's a meat-focused sandwich
that's not drowned in other stuff.
Odd man out right here.
Talk about a very average sandwich, and for the price, seriously.
I like Jersey Mike's.
I think they also have a great Italian sub for a chain restaurant.
We have made it to the one and only IHOP,
and you guessed it, the T-Bone Steak and Eggs for $24.35.
Under $25 for a T-Bone Steak doesn't sound terrible, but I'm not going
to say this looks like the most premium steak I've ever seen.
Decent crust on the front side, but man, that bottom side.
is looking rough.
The steak is also extremely thin, so achieving an actual medium rare is
borderline impossible, but let's see if it tastes better than it looks.
You're starting with the
pancakes? That's illegal. This looks so good.
Kyle, what are you doing, bro? You just lost
your plate. This is delicious, actually.
Yeah, we're here for the steak and eggs, Kyle.
Tastes like liver and onions.
Oh yeah, it does.
I actually don't really dislike it,
but when Sophia calls it liver and onions, I hate liver and onions.
I was enjoying it and then she said that.
Sophia, don't say that next time, because I was liking it.
It is not a great steak.
However, for IHOP, it really isn't that bad.
And I'm going to be honest, when I used to go to IHOP,
this is exactly what I used to order every single time.
I'm sorry, there's a hair on here.
That's gross.
Oh!
That's a Kyle hair.
No, it's not.
That is not a Kyle hair.
It looks like my cat's hair.
If you just want a big meal that includes steak,
this is actually a pretty good deal.
The eggs aren't bad.
They're kind of juicy.
They taste a little manufactured, but I kind of like them.
I mean, how hard is it to make eggs, you know?
The pancakes, though, are the highlight.
Phenomenal pancakes.
The steak, the texture is actually okay.
I thought it would be really chewy, but the flavor is liver and onions,
and when I'm eating a steak, I just want it to be steak.
Wow. We'll put it this way, it got the job done.
For the perfect IHOP comparison,
next up we have Denny's T-Bone Steak and Eggs for $24.42.
Virtually the same price,
but let's see if it's any better.
A lot of similarities visually, though this Denny's
steak definitely looks like it has better seasoning,
sear, and thickness. And because
of that added thickness,
we actually have a pink interior on this steak.
Let's see how that impacts
It's way thicker.
Why are you starting with the pancake?
Because it's fresh, I gotta go for a bite.
It is better.
It's fluffier, more airy.
It is so much thicker.
Well, what's crazy is that pancake is so much thicker.
This steak is so much thicker.
It's actually medium rare.
I'm impressed.
Not like one step above.
It's like steakhouse level steak versus
I don't even know what that was.
You got a nice garlicky flavor to it.
It's seasoned well.
Montreal steak seasoning is what this tastes like.
And I love Montreal steak seasoning.
How much more expensive?
Kyle, that deserves a plate.
That take was so good.
It deserves me a plate.
You are not there yet, Kyle.
You might.
All right, fair.
If you own Denny's, you should be proud
of how much better your steak is than IHOP's
because this is night and day.
It's thicker, it's cooked better,
has better seasoning.
More tender, juicier.
I actually don't like their pancakes more.
They have a fake vanilla flavor.
No, these are great pancakes.
Oh, man.
Wow.
That's a crazy spread.
Stop writing, Kyle.
Come on, man.
Time for a trip to Italian cuisine with Olive Garden's Calabrian Steak
and Shrimp Bucatini for $24.49.
This looks like quite the meal.
This pasta is just loaded up with steak and fresh-looking shrimp.
I'm not going to say the beef looks medium-rare,
but it does still look pretty juicy.
These noodles also look pretty good.
And, of course, we got the breadsticks.
A little surf and turf.
These are like thick spaghetti noodles.
Thick boy noodle, it's huge.
Is it crazy that my mouth just watered?
It's hollow!
Seriously?
What?
Whoa, she ain't not lying.
That's pretty good.
I think pretty good is a good way to describe it.
I'm not blown away, but I enjoy this.
It's a lot of food too, and it's not cheap food.
There's beef in there.
There's shrimp in there.
Very garlicky.
It's got some herbs in there.
Those shrimp are great.
Really?
Meaty seared shrimp.
Definitely getting a kick on here though.
It's gotta be the Calabrian chilies, I think.
Yes.
The beef is a low light.
The beef kind of reminds me of the IHOP steak.
Yes, it tastes like liver and onions.
Yes.
I'm looking at it up close and it looks kind of pinkish,
almost like it's like nitrate or nitrites in there.
To be fair, when you're going to Olive Garden,
I wouldn't recommend dissecting your food.
Go there, enjoy the breadsticks, get the free salad, eat the pasta.
You're going to have a good time.
Ooh.
You should have given it a five.
Five-star meal.
This is a five-star meal out of 10.
Next up, we got Hooters and the Snow Crab Legs for a whopping $26.99.
Hooters is known for many things.
I never expected crab legs to be one of them,
but these actually look decent.
A bunch of meat in those knuckles and legs.
Let's see if it actually tastes fresh.
How did it go picking up the food, Kyle?
It was awesome.
I'll give you the details after, but it's pretty exciting stuff.
I'm not even kidding.
He literally asked for my number.
No way.
I'm still in shock.
Sick.
Wow, that is awesome.
I mean, it was, you know, on the iPad for the store reward system,
but still, she asked for it.
Good stuff, man.
Dude, look at that.
It looks like so perfect.
It looks like fake crab.
Is that another conspiracy?
Yes.
Yeah, this might be fake crab.
It tastes very salty and a bit waterlogged.
This isn't horrible.
I could eat this.
It's not horrible.
And enjoy it.
I can almost guarantee that this was frozen at one point,
which is not necessarily a bad thing
because a lot of high quality crab is frozen.
However,
It's not the best snow crab I've ever had.
To be fair, we're talking about Hooters.
People go to Hooters for a lot of reasons.
I don't think the snow crab is the number one reason.
I go for the snow crab.
Really?
Yes, that's it.
What else do you go for?
I go for the snow crab and the ambiance.
It's a really beautiful place.
it's more salty than just ocean salty it's almost like they've
been sitting in like a brine the
texture is very uh soft it doesn't feel like meaty you know what i mean
if we're being realistic
though if you serve me this at hooters i'd
be like this is good for hooters i am impressed
What I will say is the wings from Hooters are amazing,
and apparently for Kyle, the
ambiance is as well.
It is time for California Pizza Kitchen's
Cedar Planked Salmon for $26.99.
Honestly, I had no idea CPK had other food options besides
their pizza, but this salmon
doesn't look terrible.
I mean, it also doesn't look particularly juicy on the inside,
but it does flake apart
nicely, and the grains do look quite flavorful.
CPK, the Michelin star.
Start a meal when you're 16.
That's not bad for CPK salmon. I guess my first question is,
who is going to the California pizza kitchen and ordering salmon?
And if so, who heard you?
It really just tastes like frozen salmon.
There's no sear on there, there's no char,
there's a dusting of some seasoning.
But like it tastes somewhat fresh. It's just tough to get
salmon right at a restaurant.
You have to like nail the skin, cook it to a nice internal temp
where it's still juicy because it's
so easy to turn it into chalk just like they've done here.
I agree for the record.
I don't like this. My point is it doesn't taste bad.
It's just not good. I actually really don't like the corn though
I think the corn is actually worse
for what it is than the salmon.
I actually like the corn.
I'm team Sophia.
Surprise, surprise.
I kind of like a little bit of a soggy corn vibe.
I don't like the corn we had yesterday.
Yes.
Me and Sophia had a little,
had a seafood boil at Sophia's house.
Kyle. Wow.
Wasn't invited.
Yeah, thanks for the invite, guys.
That's awesome.
We'll put a picture up.
I totally agree though.
If you're going to California Pizza Kitchen
and you're not ordering the barbecue chicken pizza,
then you're doing it wrong.
I did not like that salmon.
I didn't think it was that bad, but it
definitely was not like the best.
It was probably one of the worst salmon I've had, actually.
We are heading on over to Applebee's to try
the 12-ounce ribeye with a massive jump to $31.99.
At least visually, the word that comes to mind is basic.
Not the best crust I've ever seen on a steak,
though it's not cooked terribly,
but it also doesn't have
that deep red juicy look I'd hope to see on a ribeye.
But let's see if the taste makes up for it.
This looks like the color of pork.
Some mean grill lines down there.
It's actually a pretty good steak.
Really?
It tastes like it's been sitting in a brine bag.
I don't think this is a good steak at all.
I'm not buying this thing at Applebee's,
but I think this is a better steak than Denny's.
I actually disagree.
Really?
I think the Denny's steak was better.
I think this is a higher quality steak.
The cook on that one was a little better.
I agree with Sophia.
It tastes brined,
and I would almost put my life on it
that it has been extremely manually tenderized
because that is too tender for a ribeye.
You're right.
It's so tender.
It's a filet mignon.
That's so impressive.
If I go to a super high quality steakhouse,
I would need to use a knife.
You're telling me that somehow Applebee's has a steak,
a ribeye, that I can cut with a spoon.
Yes.
I don't believe that. It tastes processed, it tastes cheap,
and it doesn't even really taste like beef.
It has that processed flavor that kind of makes you nauseous.
This is like cold cuts or something.
Yeah, exactly, Sophia.
I'm changing teams here a little bit. This is way too soft.
I think I got that first bite and I was like, wow, this is ribeye cap.
The non-ribeye cap is also very tender in a very suspicious way.
Whoa. Whoa. I mean, I didn't think it was that bad,
but yeah, I agree that Denny's one was way
better. For people like me, this is okay.
For another classic steak, it's time for
Chili's and the surf and turf ribeye for a hefty $36.39.
And honestly, everything about this looks
better than the last one from Applebee's.
Flavorful shrimp and an actual crust on the
ribeye. Definitely closer to medium rather than medium rare,
but let's see how it compares.
I feel dumb actually at my first reaction to Applebee's.
This is so much beefier and a way
better crust than Applebee's. It's definitely better.
I think the shrimp were sitting on top
of it and it seeped onto it like
the shrimp Cajun flavor seeped onto the steak. It actually doesn't
taste very beefy to me either. It just tastes salty.
Definitely the shrimp flavor on top. It's
like a Cajun flavor. I can smell that steak right now.
It smells like ham. What I'm excited to see
is how this compares to something like Texas Roadhouse
or Outback because those places are
are known for steak. This place is known for ribs.
This is definitely better than
Better than Applebee's, but I don't think it's that much better.
Yeah.
Well, look at that sear.
It has a sear only on one side.
But this sear is looking way better than Applebee's sear.
You want cucumber?
A washed cucumber.
That's surprising.
Did you wash it?
You did not wash it.
I went like this, Max.
That's called a wipe.
Oh, Sophia.
It was not good.
Did you think this was better than the other one?
Slightly.
This is a new one for me.
We got Carrabba's Tuscan Grilled Filet Mignon for $43.49.
And for something this expensive, expectations are high.
Overall, the sides look pretty good.
But most importantly, this is one big and good-looking filet.
Okay, the inside is debatably raw,
but sometimes that does kind of work with a very lean and tender filet.
Okay, so let's see.
Officially in steak territory.
I might complain about this.
That's too rare.
You're gonna send it back?
Are you?
Maybe.
This is raw.
Actually raw.
I can't eat that. I actually can't. It's like raw beef.
That is raw beef.
I feel weird about this one
because it tastes like it's high quality beef, but it is
legitimately raw onions.
It has an off-putting flavor to me.
You take a bite and you do get some sear on the outside,
but then the inside it's like
rubbery in a sense because it's just raw meat.
Max just cut a piece where it got just like
the inside crust with a little bit of medium rare,
and it was very good. It's just too rare.
And I think we need to cut him some slack because this is a...
A delivery steak, like realistically,
if you're ordering the most expensive item on their menu,
it should be in person.
And I like the flavor on the outside.
It's very unique actually.
The mashed potatoes are good.
The texture of this bread too.
Yeah, that is good bread.
I feel like Carrabba's might be like a elevated Olive Garden.
That's exactly what I was thinking.
We're locked in today.
It's like we're finishing each other's steaks.
Yeah, sure, yeah.
See that just seems too high. Who's wrong? Me.
Cooked properly, easily in age. Time for another
heavy hitting steak.
We got Outback's Delmonico and lobster combo for $44.79.
Needless to say,
I've never ordered the lobster from Outback,
but it actually looks pretty impressive with
the meat over the shell presentation with a squeeze of lemon
and butter over the top.
Now, the steak looks pretty standard
with a nice medium rare on the inside.
Let's see if this combo is worth nearly 45 bucks.
Visually, look at the difference between
these grill marks and Applebee's.
That is a night and day difference.
This has a nice looking char on there.
It also tastes way better.
10 times better.
We've eaten a lot of these steaks many times.
Outback consistently, in my opinion, has the best.
Way better than Texas Roadhouse.
Puts all those other ones today to shame.
I'm not going to say this is the best steak I've ever had,
but it's sort of like a choice grade ribeye
that you throw on the grill at your house.
And I mean that in a good way.
It actually has a nice peppery flavor.
It's not super chewy and you do get that char.
This is Outback Steakhouse.
The other ones are not steakhouses.
Yes.
So this should be better.
And it is.
Let's taste that lobster.
There's a reason they call it Outback Steakhouse
and not Outback Lobster House.
The steak is way better.
It's not bad lobster, but it's definitely like frozen,
chewy, slightly overcooked, not great.
Waterlogged.
It's like shrimp.
It's almost like slimy, the amount of wateriness is in there.
And it's super salty.
I feel like a place like this should stick to their guns,
stick to what they're good at,
over-invest in the steak, not offer any trash like that on their menu,
because the steak itself is good.
We're all in that ballpark.
I think without the lobster tail, this would easily be in the upper
A's. We are moving on to the Cheesecake Factory
and the filet mignon for $51.95. Yes, over $50
for a steak from the Cheesecake Factory.
Some extremely intense, almost too perfect looking
grill marks on this thing.
Not a terrible internal temp, and it definitely looks tender.
This is a better filet mignon than Carrabba's.
I guess it's also more expensive.
Wow, I'm impressed.
Super tender, great flavor.
Cooked well.
Great char.
They use grill marks, but it actually has a nice char to it.
It's not just like gray on top.
The more I eat Cheesecake Factory, the more impressed I've become.
Remember that pizza we had?
That was one of the best pizzas we had the entire taste test.
Yes, this pizza is great.
Try their mashed potatoes.
They're awesome.
They have that potato skin in there that gives it a great texture.
And you can tell there's
They're just real nice potatoes.
And their bread is unreal.
We already know that, yeah.
I actually think this is the best steak we've had all day.
I know the Outback steak was good,
but this, honestly, is great.
Oh, oh.
Oh, man!
Woo!
Oh, come on!
For a steak from Cheesecake Factory, that's a high score.
Next up we got Fogo de Chão
and the lamb chop protein plate coming in at 53.80. The lamb chops
look marinated but they really don't have much
of a crust on the meat side. Comes with eight chops
which honestly for 54 bucks doesn't seem like a great deal
but the sauce does look nice and
herbaceous so I'm keeping an open mind.
I love that sauce the lamb chops kind of
Not good. Sauce is great. See,
I actually find the sauce overwhelming. Like there is a nice
fresh mintiness, but all I can taste is the sauce.
A lamb chop has this gaminess to it. And if you
look close, like there's good char on the sides,
but there's absolutely zero sear on the side that
matters. That's because I believe they cook it on a spit,
like horizontally. Not to mention the
flavor just isn't good. I don't know what they're seasoning with,
but I don't like it. It tastes
very gamey and there's no char to help counteract that.
The sauce, I do really like them.
The mint is very nice.
That sauce is so powerful.
It almost overtakes the lamb for flavor.
I really like it because it has a strong mint flavor.
This lamb chop on its own, it's not really doing it for me,
especially for however much
this cost.
You're going to Fogo de Chão, get the picanha,
get the churrasco, get the beef, the sausages,
pretty much anything aside from the lamb chops.
Kyle. Where are we at? Am I, am I way too, is my score way too good?
I actually couldn't even
finish it. I thought the sauce was pretty good.
Are you paying over $50 for the sauce? When you
put it that way, I think this score is a little bit too high.
It is time for Red Lobster and the
Mariner's Seafood Boil for $58.79.
And for this price, hopes are high, though this doesn't
particularly look like that much food.
Yes, we got some snow crab legs, shrimp, and even a lobster
If I'm being honest,
To be honest, what I am most excited about
are those cheddar bay biscuits.
I feel a little underwhelmed with the volume here.
I feel like they throw a piece of lobster in here
and then they think they can charge
whatever they want.
It's one lobster tail.
And it's a small lobster tail though, it's not even a big one.
It's the same size as the shrimp.
It's a piece of shrimp, that's a shrimp.
Decent lobster though.
Tastes way better than what's the other lobster we ate today?
Outback.
This is better lobster for sure.
Remember how I said there's a reason they don't call
Outback Steakhouse Outback Lobster House?
And what do they call this?
Red Lobster.
It's all adding up.
That's an anti-conspiracy theory.
That's a prop mystery.
Yes.
These snow crab legs are also 10 times better than Hooters.
Are they really?
So much better.
They're not too salty.
You take that back Sophia right now.
They're not too salty.
They're not waterlogged.
They're great.
I'm excited to see the difference here.
I can't believe you talked about that.
Way better.
But lobster's great.
I don't think these are 10 times better.
I think they taste the exact same.
I'm serious, I don't think these are that much better.
I think that these are covered in garlic butter,
so obviously they taste a little bit better.
But I don't think the actual quality
of the snow crab tastes better.
The shrimp are extremely overcooked.
The biscuits are bustin' as usual.
Wow.
Thing is, it is technically a seafood restaurant,
so you'd think they would nail this.
All that said, it's gonna fall
somewhere in the middle for me.
High or low?
Whoa. Wow.
I thought it was okay.
For this price point, I'm a little disappointed.
Next up, we have one of my all-time favorite
food experiences with Benihana and the Hibachi Supreme
for an absolutely wild 76.50.
What I will say is this does look like
a good amount of food.
We have tender pieces of Hibachi lobster,
a whole bunch of beef that might be slightly raw,
but that is nothing the Benihana sauce can't fix.
Benifreakinghana?
All right, it's all about the sauce.
All but everything here.
I love that sauce.
It is like the best sauce.
I don't know what they're doing with that sauce.
For some reason, I was always under the impression
that Benihana was like a really bad gimmicky restaurant.
It's actually quite expensive
and I think it's pretty good quality.
The meat is so tender.
I'm a little concerned it's meat tenderized tender,
but it's good.
I think it's filet mignon.
I think it's high quality beef.
I think the beef is pretty good.
Not much of a sear because it's just stir fried.
To your point about the quality, Kyle,
I don't think anyone's calling this fancy food,
But I do think they've nailed this
this format and it is a format that I
freaking love. When we were kids, we'd ask our parents,
can we go to the place where they cook
in front of you? I will always love this.
From the salad dressing to the way they cook it to
the onion volcano, I love it all.
They use the salad dressing that I love and I know Max and
Sophia love, that very intense gingery pulpy dressing.
This is all super good quality. Even
the lobster was way better than the other ones we had today.
Our best lobster of the day. Yeah.
I could just drink that sauce. That is so good.
And the dressing. The fact that this is over seven
$70 is shocking.
$70 is a serious amount of money to be spending on one meal.
This is my first time eating Benihana.
Are you serious?
Yeah.
Wait, your first time eating Benihana is here, not at Benihana?
We got to take out a Benihana.
Yeah.
Especially given that most people go here for the show,
just the food alone getting this high of a score is very impressive.
Yeah, that's true.
This is a big one. We have Hell's Kitchen, a.k.a. Gordon
Ramsay's 20-ounce prime bone-in ribeye for a staggering $95.
I mean, this is straight up fine dining pricing,
and basically all you get here is the steak,
some vegetables, and sauce.
The steak is quite big, but it is very much on the rare side.
Is a nearly $100 Gordon Ramsay steak worth it?
Let's find out.
Hell's Kitchen, this is a big boy steak.
I like the pepper forward flavor and the sauce it's kind
of giving like ketchup. I actually like the sauce
I like the sauce too. I think it's actually
the highlight for me. Not really a good thing
Like the flavor of this beef is excellent. It's very beefy.
It's seasoned. Well, it's just chewy and I don't know why
I think it's a little undercooked because this is a ribeye
and with a ribeye you don't need to go super rare
But it's a very fatty cut. I like the sauce.
It's a very rich beefy sauce
I think the highlight for me is like garlic,
you know I'm saying on that. I don't know
Man, the garlic's kind of hard.
It didn't really squish out nicely.
I did.
I like it.
I like the mushrooms.
Great texture, pretty good flavor.
But everything else is kind of falling short for me.
I kind of feel like the Outback steak tastes better than this.
Oh, 100%.
Really?
100%.
That's scary.
Oh, we're so locked in today.
Gordon is the undisputed goat.
Unfortunately, today's steak did not impress.
Somehow we have made it to Morton Steakhouse
with their 14 ounce Wagyu ribeye that costs $262.90.
Yes, over 250 bucks for a single steak.
And literally the only thing that comes with it is this singular steak.
Pretty small ribeye cap, though it is cooked very well.
Well, this one better absolutely blow our minds to justify the cost.
Whoa, whoa, whoa.
Holy crap.
That is funky.
That is exceptionally funky.
That's too funky.
Must be dry aged for a very long time.
I love...
That dry age funk.
I had a feeling you would.
It's actually still juicy.
You get a little rosemary flavor in there.
I did not have high hopes for this,
especially with that price.
I think it's a great steak.
Typically, the issue with dry age steaks at restaurants
is they kind of scam you and they don't really dry age it.
They'll dry age it for like four days, 10 days,
maybe 14 days.
The problem is at a shorter timeline,
you don't actually get that dry age funk,
that change in the flavor.
However, that absolutely does not...
This does not apply to this steak.
In fact, to Kyle's point, it's almost too dry aged.
This has gotta be at least over 80 days,
which sounds crazy, but like that is the most intense
This is the most funky blue cheese flavor I've ever had
from a restaurant steak.
It's too funky for me.
I think it's super cool to try,
but if you haven't had a dry-aged steak before, this
is basically a really strong cheese flavor.
I don't really love that.
One thing I'll say is if you're going to order
a really expensive dry-aged steak, ask the
waiter how long it's been dry-aged for,
and don't take no for an answer.
If you're spending 300 bucks on one steak, find out exactly how long.
If it's over 45 to 50 days, be prepared for a funky experience.
They say they don't know, or like under 20-ish days,
it's probably not worth it.
What are we at?
That is potentially the biggest spread we've ever had.
I get it.
This is polarizing.
You either love it or you hate it.
We have officially reached the point of no return,
debatably the world's most expensive
menu item, with the Salt Bae Golden Tomahawk for $992.
Bone-in Wagyu covered in 24-carat
edible gold leaf that actually looks like
it's cooked extremely well, but for nearly
$1,000 for this single steak,
this better legitimately be life-changing.
Where's Kyle?
Just missing one last thing.
I hope you like salt.
Kyle, this is a $1,000 steak.
Okay.
All right.
Here you go, Max.
It's not going to happen.
Sit down, Kyle.
You know what I feel like?
I feel like Kyle's one of those clowns
that you hire for a birthday, and they suck at
being a clown.
Well, I did apply to be a clown once, and I didn't get the job.
You had one job.
All right.
Make sure you dip it in some of that gold.
I fell down outside, by the way.
I tripped on the way in.
This just gives you an idea of our production level here.
How high it is?
We only have one shirt.
Just so the audience can see, here's the tag.
Ha ha ha ha ha!
I think it's time we make some upgrades, Safiya.
I think, and we should start with the people.
Should we call HR?
Yes, yes.
It's all about the people, guys.
Let's taste the steak.
This is a pretty good steak.
It's a little salty.
Oh, bruh.
Dude, it's better than every other steak we've had today.
Hell's Kitchen, miles beyond.
Honestly, every single steak is better.
I mean, how much did this cost?
A little bit more.
It better be way better.
I'm liking the gold.
It gives a nice metallic flavor on top.
The Morton's was way too dry-aged for me.
This has a really nice flavor.
It's not too waggy.
It's a nice balance.
I would not want any more marbling than this.
You'd think it's a gimmick.
It's covered in gold.
But honestly, it tastes really good.
Definitely a gimmick.
To Kyle's point, it does have the perfect amount of marbling.
It's not like Japanese Wagyu.
It's that nice balance where it's a lot of marbling, but not too much.
And the way they cook their steaks at Salt Bae's,
I know people hate on Salt Bae,
but they have a special process where I
think what they do is they add mustard,
then they add herbs.
So it develops this kind of mustardy, savory,
umami exterior that you don't typically get.
But then I go back to the fact
that this is an absurdly overpriced steak.
I do not recommend anybody or their mother,
Purchase this steak specifically for the price,
but if you had, it's fantastic.
I can't lie.
Don't talk about our audience's mother like that.
Oh, man.
If this wasn't $1,000, it would have been a nine for me.
Absolutely delicious.
Absolutely overpriced.
Thank you all so much for watching.
We appreciate the support, and we'll see you next time.
