Welcome back. Well, this is probably a sight you were not expecting.
Snow up at Snow Bowl. Yep,
six inches of snow fell over the weekend
as we saw all of that rain making its way through the
high country. So most of this came down yesterday and the night before.
And this is the base,
So, not even just at the peak, the whole mountain seeing some snow.
That whole system is now making its way further
and further from Arizona,
but it's still bringing some flooding out across the Rockies region.
And we do have a flood warning that's remaining
in effect through tomorrow morning at 10 a.m.
This is for the Little Colorado River
from Loop southward to around Bird Springs.
So the water levels were peaking yesterday evening
at just about minor flood stage and
they have dropped below flood stage today,
but the water levels are still very, very high and
the surges of water are expected to continue.
So while there may not be as much water affecting
infrastructure like bridges at this time,
you'll still want to make sure you're avoiding those
low water crossings and being cautious around the banks of the river.
As that storm system
tracks to the northeast it's bringing the moisture with it
so we have zonal west to east flow across
the state in the coming days
which is going to bring dry air into Arizona and we have beautiful
mostly sunny dry conditions that will last most
of the week it will start to change this coming
weekend right ahead of Halloween and that's
when we will see this southwesterly flow returning
starting to draw moisture back into Arizona
and therefore bringing rain chances to the state
So we are dry through Thursday, but we will see a 40% chance
of rain returning to the valley on Friday and Saturday.
And in Flagstaff,
we are seeing very low rain chances this week as well,
but they do go up all across Arizona Friday through the weekend.
On top of that, our temperatures are staying seasonably warm.
We will be right in those mid-80s where we should be through Thursday.
But as that storm moves in this coming weekend, temperatures will
fall below normal because of cloud cover and rain in the area.
As for tonight, we're dropping to 59 in Phoenix,
so another chilly overnight temperature in the Valley
and another freezing night expected in Flagstaff.
We'll be seeing upper 30s in Payson, low 30s in the Show Low area.
And tomorrow afternoon, temperatures just
a couple degrees warmer than today.
We'll be seeing mid-80s across the deserts
and temperatures in the 60s and 70s across northern Arizona.
And for tomorrow morning, temperatures are starting,
you know, around that 59,
but it's going to be a beautiful Monday morning to get out
and about or open up the windows
as temperatures will be staying
in the 60s through around 9 a.m. with sunshine.
Our 10-day forecast, it shows some nice,
cool overnight lows just about every day this week.
By this weekend, that's when those clouds will return
and we'll see the rain chances
picking up throughout the weekend
with that storm clearing out by early next week.
