I pictured like a little ribbon in my family,
so to walk around the corner, see a full band,
everybody clapping, saying my name, cheering me on, it was amazing.
An ultra marathon runner who's
also a big Lions fan wraps up an incredible journey
for a very important cause.
Cody DiLorenzo arriving in downtown Detroit today. Earlier
this week, he started running from Lambeau Field in Green Bay.
That's about 500 miles,
quote The Proclaimers song there if you know
that one at the finish line a big cheering section
and a hefty check for his cause he's brought
in about 75,000 to help raise awareness for early
cancer detection tomorrow he'll deliver the game ball
as the Lions get ready to play the Packers
it's amazing amount of money that's been raised
is directly going to go back to our patients
whether it's through funds to help pay
for supportive services to pay utility bills to pay
for massage therapy and it will go towards patient directed research so
we're super just honored
and humbled that someone would raise awareness over
313 miles for Henry Ford Health Game On Cancer
I want people to donate I'm
obviously we promoted Game On Cancer all week
so what they do to help other
families during medical crisis
but I wanted to promote early detection is
very important to listen to your body even
though I didn't listen to my body
at all this week listen to your body go get checked out
and then you can do
hard things and you can fight
and you can get to the finish line well he says he's sore certainly
we can imagine that but he's grateful Cody's wife Shannon
was diagnosed with stage two cancer the
family says her life was saved thanks
to early detection the money raised with go will go to
cancer research at Henry Ford Health
