Leatherwood Bowdrill

I just got done finished eating lunch, can't go outside, it's too crappy, just got finished cleaning my basement, and the postman came, and Lone Tracker from Bushcraft USA sent me some leatherwood, I've never been able to play with leatherwood at all, but it's really light, it reminds me of basswood, and the bark, he's used it I know for a bow string for his bow draw, it's really, really durable, I believe, I could be wrong, but I'm just guessing that that's where the name comes from is the bark the bark is almost like a leather you can work it um to sew this off it reminds me of bass but how light it is i'm going to try and pop off a coal with it so this is the leatherwood with a piece of bark hanging off and it is really tough very good cordage characteristics it tends to stay in a strip when you pull it off that's a strip of But that is some tough stuff, man. Using my Boone's Branch neck knife. No pajamas today, scab. Just good old blue jeans. Yeah, that's going to work, I think. This wood, after cutting the notch, I'm realizing this wood might even be softer than basswood, which is crazy. My spindle, so it spins a little bit better.
