This is a live look at the Tidal Basin.
Man, plenty of sunshine today.
I don't know if you're going to feel the warmth, though, from that sun.
It's a little nippy out there.

We're not talking any kind of rainfall anywhere for us.
43 degrees.
The winds are from the northeast at 6 miles an hour.
And that northeast breeze is light.
But, you know, you're going to feel that
a little bit if you step outside.
Satellite radar composite showing you we have
a ridge of high pressure to the north.
That's influencing our pattern.
We have a trough out here to the west.
But nothing else happening.
There is some precipitation well to the south of us.
37 at Dulles this hour.
The same at Hagerstown.
A chilly 32 for Frederick.
Westminster 34.
33 at Cumberland and 32 at Winchester,
36 at Culpeper, 49 degrees for Annapolis this hour.
Now, we do have until 9 o'clock only a frost advisory in effect,
and that does encompass Frederick County as well as Harford,
Cecil County, Baltimore County,
and you can see over across Delmarva as well there.
So pretty chilly conditions there.
The warning doesn't affect us at all because it's in Pennsylvania,
But this is until 9 o'clock this morning,
so definitely sensitive vegetation.
Wow, not surviving that.
Sunshine right across the board for today
by the 3 o'clock hour into the low 60s,
and that's where we're headed for a daytime high.
64 at Annapolis in the city, 63 at Frederick,
64 at Quantico, and 64 at Fredericksburg.

Gwen, thank you.
A major legal battle heating up in Alexandria
as a grieving family demands justice in federal court.
Sandra Jones filed a lawsuit against the city
and two officers Thursday after her son died
in police custody on what would have been his 34th birthday.
This morning, Fox 5's Sydney Persing has new body
camera video leading up to his final moments.
I want to warn you, this is disturbing.
It's been more than a year since Alan Tucker II died
in Alexandria police custody.
His mother says she's finally ready to break her silence after filing
a federal lawsuit against the city and two officers involved.
I thought they were going to help him, take him,
get him some help, not leave him in a car to die.
Tucker was arrested for public intoxication August 15th, 2025.
His mother's suit claims he was under
the influence of drugs and hallucinated.
That his own family was among those who called police,
thinking officers would get him help.
In obvious distress, body camera video captures Tucker asking
for police officers to take him to the hospital.
Remained in the back of a cruiser
for close to 45 minutes before officers
discovered he'd become unresponsive.
It's heartbreaking
to hear somebody begging for help
and you just ignore it.
Do you have faith in death?
Tucker's cause of death was ruled cardiac arrest caused
by an overdose, according to the suit.
His mother believes had her son been given medical care.
He beat me.
The Commonwealth's attorney previously
ruled Tucker's death was accidental.
No charges were filed against the officers involved.
The civil lawsuit, though, alleges as a result of their failures,
Allen was deprived of timely and necessary medical care,
suffered mentally and physically, and died.
I cry every day. I cry every day.
Making matters worse, she said,
when she received a box of her son's property,
including his clothes and fingernail clippings.
APD accidentally included the handcuffs
and seatbelt used on her son the day he died.
i already knew that he died in a car
then you're gonna send me the seatbelts and handcuffs
that was just traumatizing he's just another case
to them but he's a loved one to us and
that was our Sydney Purson reporting
