Welcome to my third episode of our meal prep.
Today I'm going to show you one of my first,
my favorite recipes of oats, overnight oats
with mixed berries.
It's super simple, super delicious and so healthy and again,
saves you so much time
when you cook at home.
And I absolutely love it.
You can meal prep for four days
and then have your overnight oats every single day for breakfast.
Here I've got my gluten-free jumbo oats.
can use regular ones as well I've got some almonds
which I'm gonna fry to get
that crunch we've got some raisins for sweetness
and one cup of mixed berries
here I also have milk and water mixture
but you can also use just milk right so
the first thing we're going to do we're
going to warm up our milk so it's nice
and hot so I'm just going to add my milk
and water mixture into the pan we're
going to wait till it starts to boil
so now you want to add your oats your
raisins I'm just gonna mix
this through
and I'm gonna add my berries I'm using
frozen berries that you can
also use fresh if you want it doesn't matter
they'll taste delicious
and I'm just gonna gently swirl that in I'm only
gonna cook this for a few minutes until
the mixture starts to boil and then we
just gonna leave it okay the porridge
is starting to bubble up just like this
when it starts to reach this I'm gonna mix
this through and I'm also just gonna
to turn off the heat now
and I'm gonna add a generous spoon of golden syrup you
can use honey you can use maple syrup whatever you like
so I've turned off the
heat and I'm gonna mix this through
and this is just for some sweetness okay so
porridge is done I'm gonna leave it to cool down
and then we're gonna place
that into our meal prep boxes
while the porridge is cooling down I'm gonna roast
my nuts just add your almond nuts in a pan make sure it's nice
and hot and we're
gonna cook them for a few minutes just
shaking it making sure they don't burn
and you can use any other nuts
that you like. Porridge is done, I let it cool just
for five minutes but it doesn't matter
we're gonna cool it down in our plastic
containers, you don't have to use plastic
if you've got glass meal prep containers
you can use those. These are the ones I
could only find right now but I'm sure
I'll change that in the future, and what I
also do, I reuse them, so and I don't
throw them away so they last me basically forever until they break down
so what I'm gonna do, I'm just gonna scoop
a mixture of our berry porridge
inside each meal prep box, and you want
to just evenly divide that, and it smells
so good I really really love the golden syrup
in porridge, it adds that extra
flavor. For those of you in America, golden syrup
is probably not available
in your stores, but you can use honey or maple syrup,
anything that you like. Okay, now we're
going to decorate with our roasted nuts.
You can crush the nuts if you want, you can leave them as
whole. I'm just going to leave them as whole,
so just sprinkle them on top. Then I like to decorate
with chia seeds, so just sprinkle some on top.
And I also like to add raspberry powder, but that's
completely optional. It just adds the flavor and the color.
Makes it so, so delicious when you eat
oh there we go, okay now this is all done
our mixed berry overnight oats are ready, you just
want to leave them for a few hours to cool down, depends how cold
or hot it is in your place
and then we're going to put the lid
and place it into our fridge and enjoy the next day or
straight away i hope you
enjoyed this episode guys
i'll see you soon oh
my god overnight
