'RHOC' recap: Gina's spending sparks concern among the Housewives

You know the one thing I love about her that I hope never changes? I love the girl who went from the casita to the bad a** that she is now. I definitely live in a f***ing casita. Virtual reality. Hi, I'm Danny Murphy. I'm Evan Riela. And let Gina shop. Let Gina shop. What's going on here? Poor Gina. I'm like, this is Real Housewives of Orange County. When are we counting coins? I thought we were supposed to be spending. We live for the frivolousness. And also, all my friends who go to Japan, they say that the vintage shopping is f***ing dear. So, I do love Gina getting her bag. yeah that's the word on the street right is that you can get bags at a better price so she's being smart with her money she knows that japan is a place to get sparkly mini prada backpacks and also i mean emily revealed the tea that she made like 20 million dollars in commission crazy or something like that i don't know exactly but amazing she's making good money and i do feel like it is hard where for so long the punch line was that gina was poor right uh now that she's maybe making more coin than usual everyone's looking at a little bit sideways i don't love it but also i don't love too that everyone was like heather was the only one concerned everyone was talking about it heather made a strong analogy that i think was not well received but i understood what she was saying what heather was saying too because it is a thing a lot of people fall into the second they get money they spend it all but i also do understand gina being like that's not my experience i'm i'm not an actress trying to book a job on a sitcom like i have established a career i've been doing it for so many years i think i think she's good i think she understands what she's doing with her money but i did love oh my god jennifer padrante i love her sweet she just has the purest heart and when she tried to illustrate to gina that she loves nothing more than a cinderella story the girl from the casita story like gina was like absolutely the not i never lived in a casita and i do thank her for clarifying that because that is the narrative that has been built over the years danny pellegrino's nickname for her calls her literally calls her casita gina or just casita that's her first name because it's like share and i share madonna and casita i um i just met a girl named casita i do understand though her being upset by the assumption that she lived full-time in a casita because i didn't realize that that was just the weekend spot when she was living in koto with her estranged husband figuring it out with the kids etc she would just kind of retreat to the casita on the weekends and it's not like she was like being a full-time mom in a casita with her kids so she clarified that and by the end of the conversation at the dinner table i think people felt good and okay they're proud of her everyone right exactly i think gina just needed to hear from everybody that the through line is everyone is proud of how successful she is right now yeah and they commend it and jen is getting inspired by it and she's like she kind of was like crowdsourcing what business should i do guys well and people did clock that she's she's very passionate about fitness i mean well she had the yoga has the body is crazy like her body is so fit those abs are having i was actually dming with her last night i sent her fire flames to her bikini pics from vacation she's currently in cabo with ryan and she was like hi babe how are you i was like i'm good i'm just admiring your fit as body she looks so good so i think that it is smart for her to lean into the fitness of it all and she has her yoga studio you went there i did yeah like years ago when she first got on the show she taught me a private yoga class which was so much fun she's very passionate about it so i think it's smart that that's what she's leaning into for the result of making money and being financially independent because you know she's having fun with it and it's something that she really truly loves so i hope to see more of that in her future you know i hope she can monetize her passion as she said exactly which is oh my god that is such a capitalistic modern phrase which is so sad but real it's a reality it's unfortunately the world we live in which to monetize my passion i'm like am i wally what's happening that's what we have to do in america we have to monetize our passion i know look at us right here right now this is our job this is our job jen just join us oh my god we'd love to get a third co-host i would love jen but she would also if ever we tried to be shady about anybody she's too sweet so she's too sweet to recap reality tv yeah she really she really is she was she was very sweet to facilitate a moment on screen for gretchen rossi wasn't expecting that so many surprise returns this season of orange county revolving door it really really is that way um So I do like that Jen is monetizing her passion. I don't like if Tamra's just using Jen to make Heather jealous. What did you think about that? Because Emily and Gina have that philosophy. Does Tamra want these pictures with me or is it like trying to piss off Heather? Did you feel that way? I thought so too. Yeah, I mean, I noticed it. Because she would do it when Heather was standing there. I think that it is unfortunate because I really love seeing Jen and Tamra get to a better place. because you know they were friends back in the day obviously we saw in the flashbacks they've really been through it in their friendship i mean last year were they even friends like it's been i forgot about that oh my god yeah i mean it's really been up and down for them throughout their journey on orange county housewives together so it's nice to see them in a peaceful place i hate that jen now has people in her ear making her question tamra's intentions i want to think they're good i'm a bit of a tamra apologist i love her so much i love my tam i think she really is just such a such a great housewife and i think that she's more sweet and sensitive than people give her credit for 100 i think she is a good friend and i think that you know look happens especially in the housewives universe you fight you make up and then hopefully you can stay on track and it seems like they've been staying on track so i hate that well there is energy surrounding jen to upend the progress that they've made as friends i know well a like you're saying tamra is much sweeter than people give her credit for yeah and b she is such a smart incredible housewife if she wanted to piss heather dubrow off she'd be doing a lot more than taking selfies with jen be doing it right exactly you know i mean because i was like how did we have a i don't think i don't think it's a calculated move on tamra's part to make heather upset no and it seems i do love drunk heather though she's a vibe she was like because they just met up with that that restaurant i need a big margarita vicky tamra hug it out which maybe they needed heather's celebrity right to get to the good place because they uh yeah they got to a good spot and it was kind of crazy because i was honestly i was expecting five alarm fires well i was scared when Tamra was on the on the precipice of revealing and apologizing for what she said about Brianna's relationship with her mom Vicky that they weren't talking or whatever Vicky was so chill and Tamra was like maybe she's on a beta blocker i don't know what's going on but she did not care she was like no do you know maybe she didn't care because there was no truth to it essentially because she was like yeah like we had a little argument but like it wasn't that big of a deal we're good so it wasn't the the explosion i was not i was expecting way more of an explosion but yeah they got to a good spot and even the Brianna of it all didn't no yeah and Carmella we hope you're happy i feel down i feel behind at work it's a lot of like change Presley's graduating it's like she just turned 18 she's messed with Danny it's like I'm still married I she won't throw it we don't know if she's happy or not because she's leaving that man but this episode was tougher Carmela she was crying she was upset about her relationship with Danny and there's a lot going on and she's going to be an empty nester and she doesn't want to buy her daughter a nose job and it's just that she's got a lot of and it seems next week she's going be giving a lot of to vicky potentially which is fine with us oh please let's baby let the games begin bring on the explosion and then also some heather explosion it seems like next week is gonna be yeah this this episode despite the the Gina shopping drama of it all it was a pretty like chill episode but i think this is the calm before the storm a hundred percent i yeah they have their their fun little Harajuku moment when you cross the street in Orange County you just have to make sure you don't get hit by a 13 year old e-biker this is like completely different like people are trying to create art as you're crossing yes which by the way when clips came out of them in Tokyo dressed in Harajuku garb the internet had things to say about it including Katie Janella who is Asian she was on the she was dealt with a lot in that in that realm um in this cast yes with this cast and so she was you know clearly had feelings about this it was interesting that throughout the episode several times and even when they went to dress in their kimonos for tea on the previous episode there was a moment where Gina was like is this okay and the lady at the tea house was like this is okay and then in this episode when they were asking about dressing up in Harajuku garb several times throughout the episode it was relayed to them this is okay so it's like we were like pacifying it which i thought was an interesting choice um but you know i guess it's okay well i'm also sure a producer saw the feedback from the tweets i was like please say this line about how this is xyz boop boop so i guess it's okay to dress in Harajuku garb it's a form of expression it's a form of question how much Gina bought there right true That's so true. Do they do they buy all this stuff or did they borrow all the bags? Yeah, they did. Okay, they better if they returned it, that'd be tacky. That would be, and Heather Dubrow would never allow that. Now I didn't realize that Heather Dubrow does not like used bags because she doesn't know the story of them I thought that was interesting. So she doesn't want a vintage bag because she's scared that negative energy is attached to it, yeah but just sage, yeah, just sage it, and nothing discount is gonna bring you bad energy, exactly, yeah No, not at all. Heather's like, I don't need to worry about discounts, but I did. Did you think it was a good point Gina made when she was like, if Heather was so concerned about my finance why didn't she hire me as a realtor, I thought that was a mic drop, yeah I thought that was a really good point, like she, she made a point there, you know what I mean? I um I feel bad for Heather and Gina, they just can never seem to have a smooth sailing season they always hit snags in the relationship but I do think that they each have respect and love for each other, it's just for whatever reason the, the souls are not entirely aligned, that's okay it is okay makes for good TV makes for good TV and I'm glad Gina has a Prada tote for her laptop exactly and a ski jacket that won't zip it looks cute though it looks so good she made some really great shopping choices 100% tiny backpacks I'm like what will fit but I guess she has she loves a tiny backpack I do notice that she carries them a lot during her showings and stuff well and you know what I'm pretty sure the bag she bought in Japan is the bag she brought here when we interviewed her glad I remember she had a tiny backpack I was like why does it look so familiar okay gina she's putting that back to you yeah so cost per wear baby yeah oh my god yeah but okay stay tuned for next week uh where we're gonna recap whatever goes down with carmella and vicky heather anything tamra a lot of mess so stay tuned
