I've had a lot of questions regarding what I add to my paint and how I mix it, so I decided to to a video of the process. It is pretty straight forward. I add paint, Floetrol and then some water until it is the consistency that I like. I am not extremely precise but try and do similar amounts for each pour. I also change the thickness of the paint depending on what type of pour I am doing. From watching other people and also trying my own, I find that for puddle pours I like thinner paint and for dirty pours, flip cups, or dips I like thicker paint.
I do not use silicone too much as I do not like the clean-up of the canvas after it dries and before I varnish or resin pieces.
I will be posting another video this coming week of the actual pour that I use these colors on.
In all of my videos I use acrylic paints. Brands include (but are not limited to) craft paints, Artist's Loft, Daler-Rowney, Blick Acrylics, Jacquard Lumieres, Liquitex Basics, Amsterdam Acrylics; pretty much any brand I can get my hands on to try.
