How Women's Club Soccer Can Grow in the United States

What is your take on the importance that the women's game at the club level starts matching the interest and the love that the national team has created in the American fan? Because the women's team that is preparing very, very, very well for the next Women's World Cup has been able to capture the fans in a way that finally we start seeing glimpses of it at the club level. yeah but i will say this i have in in previous world cups and in previous times when on the men's side we've kept waiting for this time when the international game will spill over to our domestic league and we will see this rise in the league yeah it's taken a very long time 30 plus years of MLS to get where it's at today you compare that to the WSL and WSL yes WSL and it's like it's gonna it's gonna take time and we have to we're watching it grow and it is obviously going in the right direction but these things take a lot of time to answer your question directly it's huge it's very important it helps develop the game the game is developed by the youth that makes the league better you get this amazing feedback loop and you you you start to build something that's great that's already great in the u.s where that we're the powerhouse of women's football in the world and that is for us a huge point of pride as it should be and so it can only help but it takes time and and i just don't want to do what what everyone has been doing on the men's side for so long and just assume that each world cup that's going to come is just going to change everything you know what i mean and it does it's it's time that it has to grow organically this is about culture as much as it is about sport and culture we see glimpses of it in the mls happening right now. There's these beautiful sparks of organic growth. I mean, it just takes time. I can't stress that enough. Things can help, but it takes time, right? I mean, we've seen that.
