📌 IMPORTANT:
On Hostinger managed hosting, a security patch may be applied without changing the displayed PHP version number. Hostinger’s advisory says a Build Date of 21 October 2026 or later indicates its PHP2Shell fix. This check is specific to Hostinger managed hosting; other providers may use different verification methods.
Hostinger VPS users manage their own PHP updates. Updating WordPress, themes or plugins alone does not fix a vulnerability in the underlying PHP engine.
Before changing PHP versions, back up your website and check application, theme and plugin compatibility. Applying this patch addresses these vulnerabilities; it does not guarantee protection against every security threat.
