Video Summary
AI GeneratedFather Fish hosts a community-driven livestream featuring open discussions on fish-keeping, aquarium showcases, and industry critiques. The session blends personal updates with technical advice on tank setups, species behavior, and budget-friendly equipment, while emphasizing a simplified, research-based approach to the hobby and the importance of community support.
You know, Mary, and Joey, and Cassie,
and T, and Lee, T, and Rico,
and most importantly, Fishnard,
of all the fish in the show later,
has a very white, fluffy beard, and if you ever need him,
I'm sure many of you, all you gotta do is ask questions.
He will always sort you out.
Don't forget your plants and your darn room.
That will make your time last and last.
All
right.
Very nice.
Oh, what is this?
Oh, Rodney Dangerfield.
I haven't thought about him in years.
Oh, I'm a spurry.
so morgan's here yes hey morgan how
are you there you go i had to get my mic from you
how are you morgan doing good what
are you up to today uh well it's
been an eventful day with
children today like every day lots of kiddos let's see yeah
so it's been pretty wild today
so what are you doing with your tanks well i
actually have the big tank right here for right
now it's on this stand it's i've got to get a board
because it's hanging over on the sides
like it's like three inches on each side hanging over
but we're going to put a board on it so it
doesn't hang over on the edges down in a couple
weeks we're going to set it up very cool what
size tank is it? I think it's
a 30.
Hi, baby.
That's my little
darling right there. This is Geneva.
Hi, Geneva.
Hi there, she said.
Let it go by.
Myrtle is studying tonight.
She's got exams coming up.
Well, did you hear your song?
We played your song.
Were you able to hear it?
It's still a little bit low. Yeah, but we can
still hear it.
I'm having to fiddle around with the computer
a bit yeah what I said Alex said Flynn I said
you got two Flynn's tonight well she's a core I'm
a core Flynn that's a good girl y'all
hey Laurie it's safer
if I stay on mute hey Alex
yeah I like using my
nickname was that buddy yeah
I ain't gonna live it down now
no never all right let me close this door back
and left the door open
the way she is doing
yes Morgan does look
like her mama because
she has fabulously
beautiful
long blonde hair okay well it used to be fabulously beautiful
and long but now it's
just fabulous and beautiful and not so long
because I cut it it's still long well it used
to be way down past my waist
and now it's not so she let her sister chop on it well it was giving
me headaches I had to do something it wouldn't stay
in a bun on top of my head because I would always
have it in a knot on my head
and it would always give me headaches so I had to do something no
matter where you go Father Fish we're always talking about hair
and makeup well we had a
good time with misfits up here this morning yes we did
that was nice it was very nice yeah well
i started working on uh
the video oh tomorrow morning we're gonna do a live unboxing at
we'll do a regular eight o'clock
but then at nine o'clock we're gonna do a live unboxing
Oh, that'll be fun.
That'll be something a little different.
And I've begun working
on the Diana Wallstead videos.
We're probably going to do a series of two
or three.
Oh, that'll be good.
You know, it's a difficult thing to get
into because it can be so involved.
Right.
uh and we don't want to make it super involved right
the whole idea is that is to keep it clear
and you know so it'll be interesting i think it'll
be interesting and we will really enjoy it because
it seems to be a topic that a lot of people you know well
a lot of people that even are new coming
into the hobby hear that name
and they don't quite understand what's going on with it and it's like
you said it's something that's been around
for a long time she's just actually put in some research
and documented it and um like you said uh you've
been doing this for years let's see leslie says
uh guess what my goldfish in the pond survived
the super cold weather last week and are doing fine
the ramshorn snails are too thank you father fish for the advice
and that was from leslie's right
very good leslie good job there's mark biggs
the real fish keeper hello for real tennessee water
love you all yes wet socks says really good discussion
on the streams lately absolutely
i get lost sometimes reading the comments
and i forget what i'm doing because
there's so much good stuff going
on i know you're cooking Morgan oh there's Mr Lee Wilcox
Father Fish did you see
his uh BMX video oh i did it wasn't that fabulous amazing
that's what i never stopped no doubt so you're
in the kitchen Morgan always in the kitchen i
never leave the kitchen i sit in here in the mornings
and drink my coffee and watch you all
on stream and then in the evenings i normally sit in the kitchen
and watch you all on stream
oh lord i
am so worn out i hear you hello Alexander
Lee we missed you too i think Joey
was working in the joey was working in the barn tonight
and of course Cassie's having dinner with
her family let's see jalupa
no tomatoes mainly bettas boreal John Larson Bichon
Al Wet Socks i hope you
and your your wife are doing okay you're always in our prayer and who
else was it Tiffany and Ozzy from all
in tanks keeping you in our prayers as well see Chris
Alex is here i guess we'll do it we'll
do an open forum tonight okay wants to come up we'll chat for
a little bit yeah everybody come up and show your tanks
or something hang out so don't come up to
hang out yeah you got something to say a little chat
for a while i don't want people coming up
just hanging out i don't want
to do that but we're losing
her sorry i'm here too
what are you doing morgan my my camera tilted sideways
let's see if i can figure out how to turn
this camera around t-bone tennessee h2o
leslie alexander lee why are they called super red
bristle nose pleco when it's really a dark orange
or am i blind oh well it is what it
is alexander they do that sort of thing all the time
pretty looking pretty looking tank morgan looks thank you yes
and there's my pineapple
they begged me to put it in there
and then mom told me about the joke that you all have
that's funny here's one of the cory cats you can barely see it
though because the light
glaring on it but i have smells everywhere
they're just hiding i don't know where they are
but they're there y'all
this is morgan's very first like real little fish tank so she's excited
about it so we all we all know what it was like
to have our first little fish tank that we really
felt like we were doing something
so she's doing really good with it and here's my little spider
plant it just kind of hangs out up here
at the top very nice alexander i we were i run yeah we
run into that all the time
a fish that's called red or it's called
blue or it's called black
it's all the time we get into
that same
you know same
situation
where they've obviously been
misrepresented for the
sake of you know
for the sake of selling a fish
and really a lot
of it is caused by
not the local fish store
but by the wholesaler
and and frankly it's it goes back to the breeder
if a breeder misrepresents their fish
they'll get a sale with the wholesaler based
on the misrepresentation in other words if they've
created a a strain of angels that they call red
and they're kind of half pink they'll be able to
get the sale because the wholesaler won't see them they'll just see
the fish on a list oh red
are at an affordable price presumably
so they buy them and then they've got to unload them
so they do the same thing to the shop call it uh you know whatever it
was that suckered them in
and so it goes down the line um i usually stop
that kind of stuff in its tracks
oh recently i got some black rams
though the the guy i bought him swore to me swore they were black
rams there really was nothing black about them they
were dark german rams they were not black
They were more kind of a dark blue.
I got them in.
They came in as black.
I got them in.
I did not mark them as black.
I marked them as German Rams.
They cost me a whole lot more than a regular German Ram.
So I had to mark the price up a bit.
But they sold.
They sold for what they were.
Here's Tennessee H2O.
All right.
well hello tennessee h2o nice to meet you you too i just wanted
to come in here real quick and
show you guys some of my tanks all right tickled to meet you man i'm
so glad you came up you too
uh let's see here work this thing you're
in what part of the city okay there uh i live in um
Newport, Tennessee.
Well, East Tennessee.
It's about like 45 minutes
from Knoxville.
I come through there
when I go home to Kentucky.
Nice.
I just got some more guppies
with just the trio.
Got some Corydoras down there.
I'm trying to get them
to let me have some eggs.
I've only got one batch so far.
Oh, that's good.
Feed them black worms.
If you can get blackworms, even blackworms,
if they get live food, they'll lay eggs.
Oh, okay.
Who was it? Petro-Man this morning talking about his Corydoras.
Nice plants.
Oh, they had hundreds, didn't they?
Yeah.
These are my Crepenses.
They've got about maybe 35 babies in there right now.
Oh, wonderful.
That's such a great picture.
Absolutely beautiful.
I don't know about y'all, but I love seeing
everybody's tanks. Now, all you need to do
in Tennessee is just cap that gravel with
some sand, and you'll be set.
Yeah, I mean, I've
tried to put sand in it,
but it keeps on going to the rock.
Oh, that's beautiful.
Just put it right on top.
You'll be so happy you did.
And then don't try to clean it.
Don't get in there and try to stir it up.
It'll make a big
difference and then like on your black tank right
there put black sand on top of it that's what i
use it'll just balance it right out you'll
be so happy you did okay they're beautiful tanks man
you've done great thank you i mean i've actually only got back
into the hobby for about maybe
seven months now oh really
and i started out with a 10 gallon tank and now i got four
you're on your way you're on your way
that's great well i know we've been chatting over the
past couple of days and i'm just excited to meet you
and you feel like you're from my home so
let's see here alex says tennessee turn
the heater to 80 82 feed your live feed live food
then let water sit for two or three weeks
and let some evaporate off then do a water change of 50
to 60 percent oh alex is giving you all kind
of advice here yeah make sure you read alex's comment
yeah read alex's comment i can't read all
that it's he's got a lot of good information for you
you're the best i sure will i mean i i like
his channel i mean i've learned a lot and i will
definitely take whatever advice that he can give me between him
and father fish you can't do wrong
best for sure
you guys are my most
favorite streams
that I enjoy watching
we love you too
and when I go back to Kentucky
I'm going to figure out a way to meet up with some of you folks
sounds good
I appreciate y'all
having me up here
thank you for coming up
hopefully we'll see you again
soon
sounds good
tell us your name
tell us your name what's your first name
oh aw shucks alex tennessee h2o what
was your num
name num that's french um he's been having a lot
of good chats you know he wants to do a meetup
yeah leslie's in a tennessee h2o and there
was one more this morning we were talking about it
uh i can't remember who else
but we come through uh newport tennessee all the times when we go home
oh lee hello lee come on up lee let's see you
too okay oh guess what chris the mad aquarius
biggs is here how are the legends doing this evening chris come up
and see us happy to see
you chris why doesn't chris have
a wrench oh he does doesn't he no he doesn't well we gotta fix
that he doesn't you're right. Hello, Jonathan.
Hi, Vinoski. A riddle, madruel.
I always say it
two different ways. Chris is now duly wrenched.
All right. Who's Jonathan? Jonathan, I think I've seen
Jonathan once. We've got a wrench for Jonathan. Let's see who
else. Anybody else here? Chris, Father Fish talks about
you all the time. I think you should bless us with your presence.
you've got a great channel yes he really does
oh let's see what riddle said oh father fish
asked me a question but i didn't catch it
do you remember the question okay
Madrul, did you ask Madrul a question earlier?
No, I just commented he was studying
Madrul, we would love
to get you up here one night. You, I know you're shy, but listen if I
can do this anybody can
and he's been having a really cool thing on Facebook where he's been
having a little uh competition or or challenge
or whatever to identify aquarium plants. Oh nice
Yeah, so that's been neat. That's right, Al Wet
socks. Hello Jonathan Muppet, hi Muppet y'all
please come up and join, come show us
your tanks. You don't have to do anything exciting, just show
us what you got and uh how are you Chubs? Good
to see you. Yes, T-Bone Chubs, we haven't seen your
tanks in a while. Foxy, there she is, she is here
and she's got babies. Oh, does she now? She's got
little baby fish. Tennessee's
uh Tennessee water's name
is Robert. Okay, hey Jeff's tanks, thoughts on
the Fluval 3.0, is it worth the 200 bucks? Oh
if you're gonna spend 200 bucks on a light
then the Fluval 3.0
is worth 200 bucks
if you're going to spend
$39.95
on a Home Depot
special
that'll work too
I have $8 strip lights
on my tanks
and I like them
I can even put two or three on
and still save money
do you see what Chris the Mad Aquarius said, Chris Big said
on sale at Father Fish's Aquarium for
only 199.99 there you go i don't do that right
place i have a question what are your most
memorable experiences over the year best
or worst in aquarium keeping good lord that's what my
channel is about i mean really that's exactly what
this channel is about um and i've been
doing that now for about 14 months hope you're
keeping up what all right Alex Ali is here
hello oh you got the comment there you
are oh boy he caught the comment oh boy i'm in for it now
you started it my mouth's all numb
but uh i had the dentist but uh yes so i'm setting up
new stuff for the fish room i don't know
i'll turn it around so you guys can see
how's all the new fish doing you got some neat stuff
the other day good he got um pretty much
catfish father fish yeah i'll show them
so so he i got this i've got this rimless tank
uh that i'm going to do an aquascape in i think i'm going
to do a true iwagumi scape so probably
we'll have deep substrate and just stone in low level plants
which is unlike most of my tanks that
are out of control um it's really and then i've
also got this tank this one no they're called
they all they all glass uh this is a 10
so this this new rack will fit uh a 10 and then a 5
the other way oh i see or i can like
this got it see i can fit i can fit them like that or i can
put one 20 long yeah um but i'm gonna i'll plug
this one in it's just it was blinking i just got
a new light ordered that's supposed to be here today
but here's those lizard cats and you got
the hyger he's right there on the lily they know
what they know what color they are huh neat i love
those yeah i bought a hyger a hyger one there's
another one right there too nice and then let's
see here there's all the gobies that are hanging out on the rocks
and the sand bed it's actually
sand from the ocean oh nice from uh washington coast
but good job but the gobies are doing
doing pretty good in here and then um the long tail
um the long tail uh uh neon blue tetras are
doing well no well and then uh the medaka rice fish are
at the top as well as oh here's here's a
little goby saying hi right up front um and then back here more gobies
but also uh pseudomugil
uh lumnatus mostly do you have a problem
with the rice fish getting ick no no um i do rice fish
uh oh really routinely yeah i think i have
never had that did not get ick oh weird
mine are like immune to ick for some reason like i mean more
so than all my other fish my
endlers are what always get ick
but i don't know it might have something to do with the fact that
the you know i keep the uh water here they're actually
in warm water in here um so i think
they're okay as far as it goes i think you're right about
that i've had problems when the water
it's gotten down into the 70s even
the high 70s they really yeah this tank yeah yeah i agree this
tank stays at 78 and i think that um this tank over here goes all
the way down to 55 65 somewhere
in there at night depending on the time of year
but these these um these rice fish there's three
different kinds in here um they're they were outside all summer
so they're like i keep them
separate just because
but there's a betta in here with them two bettas a female and a male
yeah uh the males in the other corner
but um yeah i mean and there's also uh there's also
pygmy sunfish in here too
and this is just an unheated tank it has a filter but it doesn't
need it it just has it because i wanted to cycle this filter
so it'd be ready for one of these
tanks when i wanted i finally got a shipment of pygmy sunfish
and then uh and the angelfish are
doing well these are the downstairs angelfish
nice i like that tiny tank there it is oh yeah
let's see here um isn't there a way
to oh wait i got it i go here
this is this is a 40 breeder
here oh okay it seemed large from looking
at it before that's a great yeah it does feel large
um the i got a lot more use out
of it i would highly recommend uh to toot my own horn i would
highly recommend you lay out a tank like this which
is so in the back over here um it's only
this deep right and the very back is stone
and then all this moss and you can see i've got um
there's plecos back here i don't know if you can see them
but they're there's uh the uh long fin
plecos there oh my sleeve got wet oh well
and then there's caves all through here for them and then
underneath back over here so this whole back side
here built up to here is um filter media bags that
are one foot long each one and a half foot long each
and they're filled with very very big swiss
cheese uh looking uh lava rock
and then a pvc pipe that runs through the whole thing and then
substrate goes over all of that and so that way there's
a big hollow mountain that has a power
head that pushes water from that side down here
and then i've got two different um two different
hang off the backs that are good for up to a 75 gallon
but that's it's all overkill because this
started as a hill stream tank and now both filters are really dirty
and just kind of um if you can
see that they're they're they're covered in algae
and mold and uh that's my uh a lot of the the
mollies in here the swordtails and the uh
the um panda garra rufa garra the plecos the auto
sinkless and these gobies really like it um like
that that gunk that's on it that's a really nice
variety of fish in there too the big variety yeah i've got
these are um shanensis danios here
they're just from lake uh inlay only
and then i have um some endlers in here then the two pair
of angels then there's three
or four plecos that are long fin adult plecos uh bristle nose
then there's a few stray albino tiger barbs left there
are three adult melanistic cribs
that are dark cribs they're not black black like you
were saying with the rams but
they're they're pretty dark um if he comes forward
you can see he's dark um and i think i've got six
six of the pandagaras another six of these um
peacock uh gudgeons and uh oh and there's a bunch
of these 12 banded african barbs that are really shy
but they're really pretty i need to make room
i need to trim again and sell some some of the plants
because the angels they're silly they can
swim right through any of this it's all loose
and not you know it's not that dense really um
And they'll do it if they're scared.
But when they're just calmly sitting,
they they pretend like they're trapped in this one little corner,
even though they can swim wherever they want.
Right. Yeah. And then my wife always complains.
Yeah. And then this is the tank that has no substrate
on the bottom that I use as kind of a control for my water just
to kind of see how my water, my tap water is doing, basically.
um but it does have this is my least planted
tank i would say and then uh the rams that i
got from jason those the new species the apisto
um Inca Apistogramma, they are so pretty they're like
little bumblebees look at them yeah aren't they beautiful
and they those are apistos yeah hold on
yeah they're from peru um they're
from the peruvian amazon high up in elevation in one of
the little creeks oh wow and um this is this is the female
here she's got black um black uh pelvic
fins does she have red and uh male uh she doesn't yet
but they will they will they will get color
both of them will get color yeah it's kind
of interesting most of the apistos are kind of plain
when they're young um i got yeah i got the yeah i got those from jason
and i'm supposed to pick
up another one i just haven't made it out there yet
but then i got the long fin uh the long fin
tetras are from him yeah yeah these were 15 each
so i could only afford three but i'm gonna i'm
yeah they're really healthy there's two two females
and they have like almost like ranchu
um fins like a goldfish would have they're
not really like long they're not normal long neon
tetra fins um and then i just love
though that these little um that the little red lizard cat
fish they know what color they are and they stay
on the plants they're the same color as them
oh wow so they they only stay on a on a plant
that's not the right color from a moment same
with the gobies back there um the gray ones stay
on the grayer rocks the blue ones stay on the blue
rocks they're amazing so and i don't know
if they're coloring up even more you know to match that
or what the deal is but yeah but you can see them in there
and they're pretty funny to watch
i really like them and then this this one's all full
of eggs this female here oh wow so if you
were to go back to jason's if you were to go back up there
to jason's what else what would be your
next pick of out of what he has he's got some neat
stuff oh honestly i'd i'd buy his odessa barbs
no the green tiger barbs that's what it
is some cool guppies too oh my gosh that's a nice fish
His green tiger barbs are only $3 or $4,
and they're the prettiest ones I've ever seen.
I've never seen so much green on them.
They are solid emerald green.
So I would get those, honestly.
And we'll get the little panda loaches to feed here in a sec.
They eat planaria, so what I do is I just beat up the substrate.
This substrate hasn't been changed out in five years.
So you just stir it up with a turkey baster
And they'll come running in a second here
Nice
Look at that
But they're one of my favorite fish
They are wonderful
Have you kept these much
Fodderfish?
No not at all
I've not had them at all
I've not seen them available
Have you kept many of these?
No
They're absolutely gorgeous
And then the last
the last uh all right David and then we got
the big pandagara sitting here and um there's another
set of apisto borelli in here in the shade
and then more danios from Lake Inle and a long fin
species too um but i just got this so i'm gonna
be putting together the new uh air system here
yeah probably a few minutes yeah
so i got that and i got about a hundred feet of airline tubing
total so that's a good one hopefully that yeah hopefully
that will be able to do everything but
um i i have to decide how many hang on the backs i want to keep
because i do kind of like having
a few some hang on the backs
so i love them with matrix on them in them and uh sponge and a pre
filter. Putting the matrix in the
hang on the backs and then putting a sponge filter
in them. Yeah. They're wonderful that way.
Well, I just thought I'd show you what was going
on since everything's situated down
here. Lee, get up here and show us
your tanks. Yeah. Very nice.
The other tanks are just boring, same
old, same old.
Thank you, Alex.
That was great. Thank you.
Hi, Whitefish Salad.

fish to 5 000 we just need a couple more yeah i
need to get to 56 first okay we'll
do it we're gonna do it i go up 20
and down 25 amazing when
you get these other videos put together
then it's going to just change everything well we're making
a we're going to try to put together a major series
of videos on the WallStreet yeah and the
fact that it that the WallStreet method
is not a method it's just research well it's a methodology
it's really right really an approach to the hobby
an approach to maintaining a tank that can go in
whatever direction you want to take it right i've kind
of winnowed it down to a few basic steps but
yeah but that's all flexible exactly you have
to put it together with what you
you just have to i hate to say this but it's basically common sense
and looking at what works
and Father Fish has kind of got it honed down
to his own science he keeps it as simple as he can
for us that's the biggest thing right there it's simple you don't have
to put all that extra work
in it you can enjoy your tanks
and your fish okay Foxy's fishes let me see if i got you Roxanne
does anybody have any experience on AquaBid i've
been thinking about it that's from Jonathan
i like them too many years ago i'm getting back
on it now listening on AquaBid um there are two
things that are critical on AquaBid one
is to do a buy now button for all of your sales so you set
the price you set the price at the minimum you're willing to accept
and then you allow it to be sold
at that price as a buy now item the other thing
that's critical to do is direct traffic to your
website and hopefully you've got uh more things up
on your website that you can uh you can direct
people too. eBay does not allow you to do that,
but on AquaBid you can do that. You're also asked
to make a donation after the sale is completed,
and it's just honorable to do that. Mark has
been running that site by himself for 25 years,
at least 25 years, and he does a really remarkable
job but it's his site and he maintains it uh there's
a great community there the forums are
really excellent uh a good source for information some
of the best suppliers in the country are on
AquaBid they're if you look carefully you'll find
really top level people just really excellent
suppliers who know what they're doing
and who will get you healthy strong vigorous fish in a
in a way that they'll come through to you as healthy
and vigorous so i've i've got a lot of
good things to say about AquaBid obviously there are sharpies
but the ability to be able to
comment on each sale and to create
a permanent commentary uh is really helpful when you're
investigating a seller to determine whether it's somebody
who you want to deal with you can tell
pretty quick by the feedback that people give
so as i say i'm trying to get back up i am i am up as
ABABA. I'm trying to get
that changed to
Father Fish. I think I can
do it, but
I've got two channels right now
that need to be combined
into one. So, we're
trying to get that worked out.
So, yeah, I recommend you go
try it out. Try it out.
See how you
fare. It does put you in touch
with a lot of people. That's
one of the really nice things about it.
You meet a lot of people.
on AquaVid same as you do here on uh on YouTube
on YouTube I wonder if uh James Hand figured out
James he was here did you ever figure out how
to put your angelfish on there he's an old-time
angelfish breeder that you've known a long time haven't you Father Fish
who's James James Hand
he's with us every day yes he breeds the angelfish
yes one of your old friends a good fellow um

His eyes, they are so bright.
He always keeps in touch with our friends around the world.
Many more of them, they still soar.
But the world, the world, the world, the world.
Do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do.
All that lives in the great glass screen.
His tanks, they are so clean.
