See the scene of officer-involved shooting in Arden Arcade

Just before noon today our communications center received a call from the California Highway Patrol stating that they had a solo unit on Business 80 with one subject at gunpoint. Apparently that subject had a knife and so the CHP officer had him at gunpoint. That subject was able to get back into his vehicle and a pursuit was initiated. As it continued on eastbound 80 they ended up exiting here on the southbound Fulton at that time the Citrus Heights Police Department also joined in on the pursuit to help the CHP unit so in total as they exited here there was two CHP units vehicles and one Citrus Heights Police Department vehicle as they came here southbound Fulton as you can see the vehicle behind me the subject stopped he got out of the vehicle knife in hand and started pacing back and forth in front of this vehicle during that time one single uh sheriff's office deputy did arrive on scene witnessing what was happening he was able to get his less lethal shot out and prepare it for any possible encounter that might happen the suspect at that point ran straight towards the officers that were here on scene our deputy was able to deploy one less lethal round striking the subject at that point an officer involved shooting occurred in total two Citrus Heights Police Department officers fired their weapon striking the subject the California Highway Patrol and the Sacramento County sheriff's office was not involved in the actual shooting once the once it was determined that the suspect was struck by gunfire officers on scene immediately started life-saving measures for the suspect he was transported to a local area hospital where they just updated that he is in stable condition as of now we have our homicide is here on scene based on jurisdiction the Sacramento County sheriff's office will be conducting the investigation into this shooting so our homicide is here on scene as well as our crime scene investigators as always the district attorney's office is also out here conducting an independent review of the incident
