Hey, hi, and hello to you from the Fox Chicago Forecast Center
on this Bears game day Thursday.
What a day it has been. What an October day overall.
Another day with sunshine,
and look at this, temperatures topping out in the 70s.
O'Hare hitting 73 degrees. That's almost
13 degrees above normal for this time of year.
It's not supposed to be this warm as we head
toward the latter part of October.
Now, with the sun going down, it has cooled here this evening.
temperatures will continue to drop tonight.
Most of us in the 40s for overnight lows. A typical low
this time of year is 43.
Many areas staying just a little bit above normal. Now we didn't have a
lot of fog last night into this morning,
but I do believe we'll see a returning pockets of fog
tonight, especially up against the lakefront
with that wind coming in out of the east to the
southeast. So don't be surprised to see some fog
as we head toward early Friday morning. And then
Friday itself, much like where we've been the past couple of days.
How about afternoon sunshine?
How about temperatures back into the 70s?
That wind out of the southeast, 5, 10 miles per hour,
not strong at all, no rain chances.
Fantastic Friday for anything you have going on.
Look how many areas tomorrow jump into the 70s.
Lakefront may get held back,
but everybody well above the norm for this time of year.
Let's talk about the weekend, because
if you like what happened today and what's ahead for tomorrow,
I think you like Friday and Saturday as well.
Both days in the low to mid-70s.
Both days featuring some sunshine.
Clouds look to thicken up on Sunday.
Maybe a wayward shower near the Illinois and Wisconsin state line.
But I think most of us wind up staying dry on Sunday.
Then a front comes in that night.
Drops our temperatures heading into next week.
But not by a whole lot.
68 on Monday.
Middle 60s on Tuesday.
Back to the upper 60s as we hit Wednesday.
Perhaps a small shot at a shower on Thursday.
I'm not overly sold on that.
We'll put a 20% chance in the forecast.
Overall, though, fantastic week,
fantastic weekend for anything outside.
Maybe get the holiday lights up,
get the yard cleaned up, the garage cleaned out.
This is the week to do it.
Before too long, Mother Nature will demand payment
for all this gorgeous weather.
