AI GeneratedPlayers discuss returning from a break, the return of key teammates like Jordan, and the team's current trajectory. They highlight the strength of the defense as a major asset and express confidence in the offense's growth and chemistry as they move forward in the season.
Thank you. Thank you. Good to be back.
I'm definitely excited to get Jordan back.
He brings another dynamic to the offense.
And, you know, we can spell each other.
There's no let off.
So you're getting the maximum of each player at their freshest.
It was nice.
I was up here until Wednesday afternoon just working with the trainers,
working on my body getting right before i uh took took
a little went down to miami for two days and
then went to uh college station to catch my brother's game uh
so got to see my brother
which was great uh and then came back here
so had a great great break uh took care of the body and
uh ready to go recharge uh super excited he's uh
that's my wingman um he does a lot of the dirty
work for us but uh he's
also a chain mover you know he's very efficient he's a he's a match-up
a nightmare for for the defenses
and when you got a guy who can consistently move the
chains for you that's the guy you want out there every time you get
a chance to take the field
i feel like it's uh all out in front of us still
um we we've picked it up i feel like the last uh
four to six like six quarters we've been able
to move the ball uh just got to finish some of
those drives uh things like that but i feel like it's all out
in front of us getting back
getting we've gotten healthy um and got all
the pieces there now it's time for us to
take advantage
of that and keep continue to stack it
and you know just come together i i mean i
don't think i've seen anything like it
or been a part of anything like it uh defense like this is
is a luxury to have you know knowing if something doesn't go
your way on offense these guys got your
back uh you know if we happen to have a turnover
these guys got our back and um they're either
gonna get the ball back for us
or they're not gonna give up any points and at most every now
and then it may be three so um i feel like we'll win
a lot of games they only give up what are they
giving up like 12 points maybe
so i feel like we will win a lot of ball games they do that you know
but that's it's a luxury to have
but uh as well as we don't want them to be on the field all day so
um continue to be efficient on offense run the ball well
and um take advantage of when we can
make those big plays thank you thank you how's
everybody doing good it's good good good to see
It was great, it was great,
honestly felt like it was a little too long.
Kind of getting away from, not getting away from it, but
just kind of having a week off.
Obviously, I think it was good for the unit and the team,
get some guys back that kind of dinged up.
But as far as myself, you know, I don't like getting too far away from the game,
especially feeling like kind of just, you know, get
my feet underneath me a little bit.
Completing the ball, playing solid, just want to keep it going.
But it's good
to be back.
how to describe it.
I mean, it was, I'd say, you know,
I think that we talk about all the time.
I feel like offensively we're ascending, you know,
I think that the past however many quarters you just said,
you know, we're playing some good ball.
Obviously I think we can,
we definitely can put the ball in the end zone more.
We had a couple of turnovers that can be costly.
Can't happen.
You know, we finished the game obviously with a win,
but at the end of the day, when you play better opponents
that, that, you know, it might come back to bite you.
So I think, like I said, I think we're ascending
and I feel good about where we're at
and we just gotta keep going.
Yeah, I mean, the first, you know,
Monday's guys feel rejuvenated, obviously.
You know, it's a long season.
We've got 12 more weeks of the regular season.
That feeling kind of diminishes as the weeks keep going.
But, you know, as far as the first day in this week,
everybody's happy to be back.
You know, love being around the guys,
obviously, and this team is very tight-knit.
So, I think we're all excited to get back going.
Was I the first one to get hurt?
No.
Actually, I was, right?
Yeah, you might have been.
How crazy is it?
I don't really think about it too much.
You know, obviously you telling the stat,
but seeing, you know, the progression of our
offense and realizing that we have had a lot of guys,
you know, out that are very influenced
with our offense, you know, there's no excuses,
you know, there's no excuses, but it's definitely
we're all happy to have everybody back, be at full force.
And, you know, I'm excited.
I'm excited, you know, because these guys,
you know, hell of a, hell of a supporting
cast to make my job easier.
So all I got to do is go out there,
spit the ball and complete the ball and put it in their
hands.
So, you know, that's what I'm trying to do.
Winning is fun, winning is fun,
I would say yes.
I would say yes, getting more comfortable, building rapport with KO.
And obviously the guys in the receiving room,
O-line, running backs, everybody.
Again, it's my fourth game in a year and some change or whatever.
But I definitely feel more comfortable as I take each snap.
As I take each snap, and for me, that's a comfortable spot to be in,
knowing that I'm getting more familiar with the offense and
KO and what he's trying
to accomplish on the field.
Well, it's night and day so far, night and day so far.
And I think it's just gonna continue to get better.
I think the time spent, time on task, can't really put a price on that.
And that's something that we haven't had, obviously,
I've been here for however long.
But I think the growing pains were always gonna be a part of it.
I think obviously all of us wanted to just come out
and hit the ground running,
guns blazing and light it up.
It's not the case right now.
And we all understand that, but we're not, you know,
we understand the standard of the offense here
and what we can accomplish as a whole.
And that's what we're gonna keep striving for.
Appreciate it.
Yeah, of course.
I think relationships you're building, you know,
this building, not only this building,
but the 31 other ones around the league, you know,
they last for a lifetime.
And a guy like Cam, you know,
the way we hit it off when he first got here.
I mean, that's something that we want to keep going.
As a team, yes.
But me and Cam, no, sadly, no.
It's hard to choreograph from miles away.
We're choreographed in the heart, though.
He knows.
Yeah, he knows, he knows.
No, I'm not.
Shout out to the offense.
I know we're going to do a great job being all about the ball.
So I'm not expecting to see him dance this weekend.
Yeah.
I think it's very unique.
I think, you know, sometimes in this league you get
into that competitive mindset.
And, you know, me and Cam, you know, being same age but, you know,
different paths to the league
but playing the same position um him being actually drafted in
the room that i was already in and uh you know you could kind
of build animosity you know some
guys have a little bit of animosity
but for us you know it was like whatever we can do to help
each other out and uh become great players
and uh great teammates we were going to do and i think
you know once we you know finally got to sit down
and you know talk to each other we realized how
similar we were in a lot of aspects off the field
and that just led to you know us being closer on the field
Is there an edge
to what we already talked about?
Yes.
I think, you know, when we talk about this team
and this defense specifically,
people, oh, best defense so far through
however many weeks and doing this and that.
But, you know, we feel like we left a lot
on the table those first five weeks.
A lot of stuff that, you know, we wish we had back.
A lot of stuff that we're itching to, you know, put on tape, you know,
these next coming weeks to show that, you know, we can keep moving,
keep progressing in that upward trajectory.
And I'm excited.
I think, you know, this defense has a lot of potential.
and every week we go out there and, you know, we get to play
and build that trust in one another,
I think we're able to show good things.
So I'm just excited that we keep building.
And as long as it's going up, you know,
I think we're in the right direction.
I think Hat is a special kind of coach.
You know, I think all of our coaches are special,
but when you get a guy that lived
and breathed special teams in his career
and lived and breathed that kind of mindset
and he's able to articulate that to a group,
and then he's just a cool guy.
Like you guys spoke to him before.
Like, he's just a cool guy, so, you know, you put all those together
and then you put him in front of a special team room, you know,
you get a bunch of, you know, animals ready to attack for a guy.
And the way he comes up with these game plans and the different schemes
and things he was able to pick up throughout his football journey,
I think is really special.
And I actually think, you know,
had a guy who could be a head coach in this league, you know,
he's a guy who just can take command of a room
and have everybody see a mission.
And you can always feel it comes from the heart, too,
and that's what I think I love the most about him.
It's fun, Matt.
I think he's one of those coaches that he wants special teams
to not feel like something just we have to do as part of the team.
You know, like it's a third of the team for a reason.
You know, they do a big part.
And we have, like, specific days.
Like Wednesday is, like, what's Wednesday?
Every day is something specific.
Like we'll, like, BGO Thursdays,
Friday's Dojo, Saturday's Saturday Jays.
Like we, I don't know why I'm just blanking on Wednesdays.
But we have something specific for every day.
You know, something to get excited for.
And I think he just does a great job
of integrating everybody into that.
And, you know, the things we do in the offseason, him and Chili,
they come up with are also cool.
We do like a Jeopardy thing with the whole team, and that's pretty fun.
So he does a lot of cool stuff.
Thank you, guys.
Appreciate it.
