Watch Alice Sara Ott perform John Field’s Nocturne No. 9 at the 2026 OPUS KLASSIK Gala — a work of quiet poetry and deeply felt melancholy.

Field is far less well known today than Chopin, yet he played a crucial role in shaping the nocturne and is often credited with inventing the genre. In this performance, Ott returns to those origins and brings Field’s distinctive sound world into focus.
