Today we're exploring Ninh Binh, Vietnam, a beautiful region just two hours south of Hanoi, filled with limestone mountains, ancient temples, and incredible scenery! 🇻🇳

In this video, we're visiting the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Trang An Landscape Complex, cycling through the rice fields of Tam Coc, and enjoying one of the most affordable massages we've ever had.

We start our morning at Trang An, where we board a traditional rowboat for a 2–3 hour journey through the limestone mountains. We choose Route 3, which takes us through three caves and three temples surrounded by incredible scenery.

Our first stop is an ancient temple before heading into Dot Cave, an underground river cave stretching approximately 1,000 metres! With ceilings so low we have to duck our heads, it's one of the most unique cave experiences we've had in Vietnam.

As we continue through Trang An, we're surrounded by towering limestone cliffs rising straight out of the water. The scenery feels like something out of Jurassic World!

Next, we explore Cloud Cave, a 400-metre-long cave with much higher ceilings, before visiting another beautiful temple hidden among the mountains. We also discover lily ponds, a floating pagoda, and incredible golden temple decorations.

After finishing our Trang An boat tour, we head to Tam Coc to explore Ninh Binh by bicycle. We ride around the lake before following a quiet countryside path through the rice fields, surrounded by beautiful scenery.

Next, we visit Tam Spa, where we find an incredible deal: a 90-minute massage for just $26 CAD per person! After being welcomed with tea, biscuits, and a foot soak, we settle in for a relaxing afternoon.

Finally, we finish our day with some delicious Vietnamese food, including fresh spring rolls, bun cha, beef pho, and banh mi.

If you're planning a trip to Vietnam and wondering what to do in Ninh Binh, whether the Trang An boat tour is worth it, or how to explore Tam Coc, hopefully this video gives you a look at what the experience is really like!
