Murdered by Isis: David Haines’ Daughter Still Searching for Father’s Remains in Syria

The daughter of a British aid worker beheaded by the so-called Islamic State believes a set of coordinates sent to her by an anonymous social media account could hold the key to finding her father’s remains.

But efforts to investigate the suspected burial site have stalled, with international experts unable to contribute to the search for the missing.

David Haines, a former RAF aircraft engineer from Perth in Scotland, was captured by militants in Syria in March 2013 while delivering aid.

His eventual execution was filmed and posted online by his British executioners, a cell which became known by their hostages as 'The Beatles' because of their British accents. But his body has never been located.

For the first time, ITV News can reveal how Mr Haines’ daughter, Bethany Haines, became an investigator herself, going to extraordinary lengths to verify clues that could lead her to her father’s remains.
