A Night in Barry Island! π | Gavin & Stacey, Arcades & Van Life
What's occurring?! ππ
I've made it to Barry Island in South Wales, and as a Gavin & Stacey fan, I couldn't resist exploring some of the familiar filming locations!
I'm Sara, and I'm travelling around Wales in my little Vauxhall Vivaro, trying to make living, working and travelling full-time in my van work.
In today's adventure, I'm having a wander around Barry Island, spotting some of the places made famous by Gavin & Stacey, exploring the amusement arcades and enjoying a lovely walk along the beach.
And because this is full-time vanlife, I've also got to find somewhere to spend the night! This time, I'm staying overnight in a pub car park.
It's a lovely mix of seaside nostalgia, a bit of fun and the everyday reality of life on the road.

Hi, I'm Sara! π
After spending almost two years living full-time in my van while my house was being renovated, I moved back home - but I never stopped missing the freedom of life on the road.
So I've decided to give full-time vanlife another go. πβ€οΈ
This time there's a challenge: can I build enough online income to pay my mortgage back home AND support a life of travelling in my van?
I've worked out that I need to earn around Β£100 a day, so I'm sharing the real journey as I try to make that happen - the adventures, beautiful park-ups, costs, income, unexpected problems and everything that doesn't quite go to plan!
This isn't just a travel channel. It's my attempt to build a different kind of life - with more freedom, more adventures and hopefully a lot more time on the road.
