Arteza sent me more supplies to try out! I received a set of their 12 Metallic Pearl Paints and a set of their 4 oz. colors. I wanted to try out the metallics with the Dutch Pour technique on a black canvas. I had a lot of paint so I also decided to do a matching piece on white. They both turned out nicely! Next time I won't use so many colors, but it was fun to try out these paints.
Hi everyone. So today I'm going to do a Dutch
pour and I'm going to be using Arteza Metallic
colors. They sent me a 12 pack.
There is gold, Aztec gold, silver, pearl canary yellow, pearl
papaya orange, pearl pink tulip, pearl royal purple,
pearl electric blue, pearl lime green,
pearl deep brown, pearl space gray, and pearl white.
I wanted to see how these would look
against the black background.
I think that's going to look really nice, but I also have a
white canvas, so I'm going to do one of each.
They also sent me some of their four ounce
containers of color, so I have black
and white mixed up for my backgrounds, and I'll show you.
I'm using, I have five different colors mixed up.
This is the Aztec gold. This is the canary yellow.
I have the papaya orange,
the lime green, and the pink tulip.
So I'm hoping that these will be nice and bright
and really shine through on that black.
So I'll move these out of the way.
And then for this first one, I just have some black mixed up.
And I have a gallon of Floetrol, but I just put it in a small container
so it's a little bit easier to use.
But I've just added a little bit of this to each
of the colors along with water to thin them down.
And I have my hair dryer.
out of the way
and I will get some black
down on the canvas.
I think I have plenty
of paint mixed
up so we should get
some good coverage.
I'm going to rinse
this off so that when I
do my white I
will have a clean one. So let's see how I want to do my colors.
I'm going to do some of the yellow
first. Oh that's I think that's going to be nice
and bright. Some of that green, orange, and this
purple, this pink I think is going to look really nice.
Hopefully they don't blend too much. I think
that look pretty good.
Then I'm going to do some
of that gold and then
do our black around and I'm
going to drip just a few more
so I get some blending
of the colors a little bit.
Okay so this
is going to be
loud but now
we're going
to do the hair
dryer.
So I used
quite a bit of
color so that
actually covered up most of the black.
I'm going to probably add a little bit more and just blow
it in the corners, but I think
that's going to be really nice
and bright when that dries.
So I'm going to set this aside and we will try this on some white.
Okay, so I moved that first
one out of the way and I'm going to try
this on the same colors only with the white background
and we'll see how that turns out.
I may actually thin my colors down just a little more. I feel
like they didn't really move a lot,
so I might take a minute and add some more water. I will
do that and be back.
Okay so I've added some water to each of my colors so I think they're
going to hopefully move a little bit more.
We're going to put down our white and then I think I'm
going to go
in a different direction.
We'll just spread this out
and this time I'll probably go
from this corner
since I went
from that corner before.
So we'll do colors here
and with this
gold and see how this turns out
and I've got a little bit of white left so we'll go around it
with the
white and
we'll see
how this
one goes.
I'm going
to let
these dry
and we'll
see how
they
look when they're all all finished. Okay so they're almost dry.
I'm going to be careful because they're
still just a little wet in the middle
but the colors turned out really nicely. Gold is going
to dry really well and I really like the orange and the pink in these.
I think I'm going to try
some of these colors again and probably use less colors.
I think five was probably a little bit too
much, but they're showing up really nicely against the black,
so I'm really happy with that.
And I just wanted to say thank you all for watching!
