‘I’m Tired Of This’ Bill Clinton SLAMS ‘Us vs. Them’ Anti Muslim Politics In BIG Midterms Message

I'm so glad that I'm part of a movement where people care that much, where they're asking me all these detailed questions, and they want to know, if we hire you for this job, what will you do? I'm tired, Mike because we have abandoned that approach. I'm tired of this constant us versus them. I've actually had politicians tell me with a straight face that you have to define an enemy when you start and organize your whole campaign around that, because fear and anger are stronger than hope and love. So I'm tired of politicians picking fights when the voters are trying to pick what they've got to put back on the shelf at the grocery store. I'm tired of treating our allies like they're dirt. The Prime Minister of Canada has been a friend of mine for a long time. We got to know each other having virtually nothing to do with politics. He's about the most well-qualified leader in the world. He's been head of the central bank of both the UK and Canada. And we have the gall to suggest that they should become the 51st state? I'm tired of the way we treat our allies like dirt. dirt and now just this last week President Trump has finally done what he's threatened to do when he ran the first time which is to abandon Ukraine and replace Vladimir Putin all over again what's that got to do with you it explains in part the way he turned ICE into an organization that was supposed to help us patrol our border into a group that could go into every community and try to stir people up and kick people out. I mean, you know, if you live in Florida, you gotta have some real sands to think that you're gonna make votes as a Republican by kicking Cubans out. I'm on the Republican base, like my God, kick the Cubans out. I broke my back to get up to 44% of the Cuban vote. It was the highest anybody had gotten since Senator Kennedy was in office. I'm tired of people denigrating Muslims for being Muslims. The Koran says, and I first heard this from my daughter who read the Koran from start to finish when she was 15 years old. And she said, Dad, read this. Allah put the different people on the earth, not that they might despise one another, but that they might come to know one another and learn from one another. There are bad actors in every faith because we're all flawed human beings. But the religious wars, the cultural wars, I'm just tired. But there is a big difference. I'm tired of being through. I'm not through trying to make things better. And from what I heard tonight, I don't think you are either. I'm going to have to really practice now. Never refer to David Jolly as Reverend Jolly. But I'm here for him and for winning credit.
