Acrylic Pour: Amanda's Waterfall Pouring Technique w 3-Hole Cup! (358)

In this acrylic dirty pour, I experimented and used a modified waterfall pouring technique. My husband drilled 3 holes in the side of one cup. He then cut the bottom out of a second cup which I placed inside the cup with the 3 holes. The inside cup covered up the holes so I could add each paint color to the cup one at a time.

This is a dirty pour. (For all of you beginners a dirty pour is when you mix all of your colors in one cup and then pour it onto the canvas.)

I used acrylic paints mixed with Sargent Art gloss medium as my pouring medium and water until it is the consistency that I want for pouring.

Colors I used:
white, black, yellow, orange, magenta, turquoise and phthalo blue

Once I added all of the colors I lifted the inside cup out to allow the paint to flow out of the cup with holes.

The results: The paint was thin and came out very quickly! I will do another one of these with thicker paint to see if I can get it to flow slower.

Pouring Medium: Sargent Art Gloss

Medium: A medium is something you add to your acrylic paints to make them easier to work with and to make it the consistency you want. Floetrol is an example of a medium.
