Welcome back to another episode on Fit
for Home where we review home workout equipment and give
you the best at-home workouts that you can
do from the comfort of your own home. And today we're
going to be reviewing the Merake S26 Aura exercise bike.
Now I've reviewed other products from Merake
this is going to be the first time
that we break down
an actual exercise bike.
Now what you see
next to me is the Merake S26 Aura exercise bike.
This is the complete package. We're going to get
into the details of how this thing operates,
including the price point. We're going to jump
on it. We're going to do a full cardio workout
to see how this thing feels and how it works.
Let's talk about this screen.
Merake offers you this screen that comes with the bike. It rotates
90 degrees left and right and 60 degrees up and down
and it's a fully HD 1080p resolution screen
and the price tag on this is gonna match all
the other bikes out there that don't come with
the screen with this size and with this capability
the screen gives you the technical details of your
workout your distance duration calories burn
the speed that you're going at all those things is
what this is going to tell you but this screen
also pairs to your phone or your device and it
And it can screen mirror so you can throw on your favorite TV show,
your Netflix, your episodes, your podcast
while you're doing your workout and watch it all from this screen.
And it's even got speakers built into it.
So you don't need headphones if you want to watch something
while you're doing your biking workout.
Hey, what's up, monkey man?
Is this going to talk to you guys?
I'm sure.
Is it that?
I don't want to go to school anymore.
And another hidden thing that I kind of discovered
is that the screen can be used for floor workouts
as well. Because of the fact that it rotates so far,
you can basically turn it and use it as a TV
or as a screen in your workout space if you don't have one there.
Let's give this thing a good test
run and see exactly how it feels
when compared to other bikes that I've used in the past. You've got
got those grips on the bottom of these pedals
so even if your foot's not fully strapped in like
it's not right now I can still pedal pretty comfortably
and my feet are not going to slip
this feels pretty on point like it does with most
of these bikes you grab the handlebars forward
you can get on top for those power sessions sit
back down you can lean back all while seeing
exactly what's going on on the screen regarding your workout
or enjoying your favorite tv show
or podcast. First thing I want to talk about is the size.
This is the perfect size for your home.
It's four foot seven by one foot seven in dimension.
So it doesn't take up a lot of space.
It's not going to need a dedicated space for you
to like set aside for it. You just plug it in
where you want to use it. You can flip it up.
You can easily maneuver it around by just leaning it
and then moving it around on the wheels.
And it doesn't have a massive footprint that it's going
to leave in your space. It is commercial grade steel.
It is built to last you long cardio
exercises over a long period of time.
So it is a good investment if you're looking for a sturdy
bike that is built to quality.
This bike is built to support up to 300 pounds. It is not something
that you have to be a certain weight or very light in order to use.
So there's no real weight limit
unless you're over 300 pounds for using this bike.
Now, like with other, you have your standard
pedals here with grips.
So I really like it because I've tested it out. Your foot holds in
place very well on this.
You can adjust these straps to really get your foot set in place for
those long cardio sessions.
When you get on this bike, you're usually in for a bit of a cardio
workout. So it's going to be 20 plus minutes
and you don't want to have a seat that is uncomfortable.
The seat is ergonomic. It's got a nice feel to it.
It's not too soft, but it's also
not too rigid and not too hard for those long cardio sessions.
You can adjust the seat.
You can right here, you can slide it forward
and back. As far as adjusting,
you can even adjust the angle of the seat itself.
You can adjust the seat height as well here
by raising it or lowering it based on how tall
or how short your legs are.
so you can adjust it and make it fit perfect for your workout.
The seat is not the only thing that
you can adjust on this machine,
you can also adjust your handlebar. You want to find that
perfect fit for your height as far as your torso length goes,
your leg length, all of that so you
have you know the perfect setup for those long cardio sessions.
So these handlebars can adjust
up and down just like the seat.
All you got to do is loosen this little screw right here and then
you can raise or lower it as you see fit i think
a lot of bikes don't have the front adjustment
all they have is the seat adjustment
so this is usually set in place i like that about this
machine now with the handlebar
and the seat adjustments this thing can accommodate people
from four foot six all the way
to six foot two you're worried am i too short am i too tall
probably not this thing will work for you
the quality of life improvements would be like these
water bottle holders where you can place
your drinks for those extended cardio sessions and
even a dumbbell rack in the back
so you can stick a dumbbell in here for doing those strength-based
cardio bike workouts where you have to reach back
and grab some weights and incorporate that
into your biking sessions.
Now this bike is electromagnetically powered. In other words,
the resistance you're getting out of it
is from electromagnetic resistance in the machine. There
is one hidden benefit to that that is highly, highly underrated.
It is how quiet this bike is.
I don't hear anything.
It is dead quiet, dead silent, zero noise, which is perfect for home
workouts. Whether you live in a house with other people,
in an apartment with neighbors,
in a condo where you've got someone on the other side of that wall,
no one's going to hear you
working out. Now, just like the other Merake
cardio machines that I've reviewed, like the
rowers. They are compatible with the Merake app.
You can connect this to your phone via Bluetooth,
pull up the app and it will record your workouts.
You can follow guided workouts. You can do
challenges, do long cardio sessions.
You can do competitions with other people all through the app
using the bike when it's connected via Bluetooth.
Like Kinomap, Zwift, Phantom Five. All of those
are compatible with this bike as well.
Now I've never had a bike like this before. So this is my
first time actually owning one in my home
and this thing is just as good if not better than
all the other ones out there as far as price tag goes you're
not gonna beat the price that you're
gonna find from a rake with the other ones that may cost more
or the same amount you're not gonna
get the same things that you're gonna get
with this one like this giant screen that comes attached
with it and the app that comes with it i don't know
if you knew this but there's no subscription
needed to get access to the app,
access to the workouts that come with this Merake bike. The
Merake app is free and the workouts on there are free as well.
Overall, I am impressed with the
quality. I'm impressed with the capabilities.
I really like it. It was very easy to assemble.
It was not hard. It was not difficult.
Very straightforward. Going to be dead quiet.
This is the perfect bike for you, including the giant screen.
I can see myself doing the
the long cardio workouts and enjoying my favorite anime shows
while I'm doing it right here on the
bike. As far as bikes go,
this one gets a solid five stars because I can't see anything wrong
with it. I can't see anything that I don't like about it.
It seems to fit and do exactly what
it's supposed to do with all the extra bells
and whistles that Merake offers with it, which are just
bonuses and icing on top of that cake.
