We have reviewed a lot of smart gyms on this channel,
and this one has a feature that I
really love and want to share with you guys today.
We are going to be breaking down
and reviewing the Motion Space Smart Gym that you can fit
right into your house
and get the full gym experience right from the comfort of your
living room.
We are going to unbox it, test it,
and we're going to review it to see if this smart gym
is perfect for you.
What you see next to me is the MotionSpace Smart Gym.
And at first glance, it looks like your standard smart gym.
It's got the same basic frame that most of them have.
It closes up, it opens up,
just like a lot of the smart gyms on the market today.
We're going to break down all the features, all the attachments,
and everything that comes with the MotionSpace Smart Gym.
Unboxing was simple.
You cut open the box, you get all the pieces out,
And then you lift the machine up
so you can wheel it to where you need it to go.
One thing to mention is that it is not light.
So I did need help from my neighbor getting it up
the stairs through my front door.
I wish that they had better safety packaging for that screen.
So I noticed the screen didn't have anything covering it.
It didn't have anything, you know,
keeping the screen from taking damage.
You wouldn't want something to flip around in there
and possibly crack or break the screen.
Luckily, the screen came in one piece
and there was no issues with that.
If you want to move the gym around,
it's very easy as well because it has the wheels.
All you got to do is tilt it on its side
and you can move the gym wherever you want it to go.
Cool thing about this Motion Space gym is that the wheels
are on the front, which I really like.
A lot of times the wheels is on the back of the machine.
You can't really lean it towards the wall if you want it to move it.
You have to like, you have to shimmy it out and then lean it.
Now this machine does require a power source,
so it does have to be plugged into the power.
It's got to be turned on in order to work.
And I really like that fact that you can unlock that bottom piece
and it just literally opens up
by itself over the course of about 15 to 20 seconds.
Once you get it set, you just walk
away and forget about it.
When you come and look back at it, it will be in its ready position for
you to start training. Now let's talk some features.
You have cables that run up and down
the frame on both sides and the cables can actually detach
and attach to the bottom for
all of your pulling motions or lifting motions from the ground up.
You're not just limited
to those bars on the frame.
You can actually detach the cables and re-anchor them to the
bottom. Now each side
and each cable gives all the way up to 132 pounds of resistance. That's
per side. If you stack both of those,
that's 264 pounds of total resistance that you can get from
using both at the same time.
That is a decent amount of resistance for doing your heavy bench
press, heavy deadlift, heavy squat.
Now you can activate and deactivate the weight on the screen
by hitting the start training button
or you can use the smart button that they provide you this
smart button can attach to any of the attachments that you use
or you can just hold it in your hand
if you're doing something that is where your hands
are free this one is very nice because it's got
the on and off and you can adjust the weight
with this here as well you can see there's a plus and
a minus right there on it
so you can see right here i'm clicking it up on the clicker and the
weight is increasing one pound at a time
so you can real time without having to look at the screen
adjust your weight and resistance
and this pull-up bar attachment is my favorite part so far because
I love to do calisthenics and pull-ups
and this machine offers me that option so I'm not limited
to just the weighted exercises from these cables I can get up here
and do pull-ups right on the
machine and look it's sturdy it feels pretty good
and it feels very sturdy it's got the you know
softer grips right there so it's not going to hurt your hands
but you can also grab it in the middle
here and you can do your different leg raises
and other exercises from this position i love this
feature they're getting unique
and coming up with things that aren't out there yet this is the first
time that i've seen this on a smart gym
and i absolutely love it now let's talk attachments
number one the handles now these handles
are pretty sturdy it looks like they're made out
of aluminum or some sort of metal
so they're sturdy for sure but there's no smart button on
the handle per se if you want to adjust the weight
with these you have to flip that smart button onto
it in order to use it with your thumb you've got
your barbell attachment pretty good it's not too
heavy and it's not metal it's got like padding built into it
and these rings right here are
adjustable so i do like that because you can slide up
and down and you can change where that anchor
point or where that cable is going to be pulling on with it
which i really like the barbell is
going to be your bread and butter for obviously
your deadlift your squats all the different
exercises where you need to push
or pull the bar great for using obviously maxing out that weight
and using all the weights that machine offers
because you can anchor both parts right to this
and then pull well over 200 pounds using
the bar you've got your standard rope attachment
which is great for doing your rope exercises, right?
Your tricep extensions, your bicep curls,
your overhead extensions, and they've got the belt,
which is a great addition. Great to see
where you can literally strap the weight right to your hips.
So you're not limited to having to
bear the weight on your back
or across your chest for those heavy squats or those exercises.
You can have the weight bear right down on your hips.
Then you've got your various ankle and
wrist straps so these can strap right onto your wrist
or right onto your ankle for those different
leg exercises kickbacks mule kicks side extensions
with the legs each leg unilaterally where it
straps the weight to your ankle
and another very cool feature is that they send you this mat you're
not limited to just working
on that hard surface it's actually got some grip to it to avoid
slipping so if you're working out without shoes
or in your socks at home you don't have to worry too
much about slipping on that very slippery surface.
And they also send you this piece
that can attach right to that barbell to add even more cushion.
For example, if you're
going to be doing hip extensions,
or if you don't want to feel this dig into your traps
or your neck for those heavy squats,
you have this extra padding that you can use as well.
What about that last secret feature
that I told you guys? There's more. And if you're
calisthenics athlete or you just love calisthenics
this is going to blow your mind dip attachments
these go onto the machine as well
and you can perform dips right from here look at how awesome
that is this right here is sturdy i've
been testing it you can do your dips i could even
probably do weighted dips with this and now i can get
my full calisthenics workouts in right from
a smart gym. Let's talk features,
what goes deeper into the technology behind this machine.
Now, first you have your standard mode,
which is going to be the bread and butter of most of your
exercises where the resistance is constant and the same.
So if I set it to 50 pounds,
it's going to be 50 pounds all the way through that movement,
50 pounds, pulling 50 pounds,
releasing no variance, no changes in that weight.
Now you go into eccentric and you can literally
feel the difference. It's going to give you
a certain resistance on your pull. It's going to
give you a different amount of resistance
on the release of your pull. And it's going to be great
for people trying to rehab
or people trying to train in that eccentric or just train in a
different way from your standard weights to really hone
in on specific styles of training. Then you're
going to have your isokinetic mode,
which is going to build that power, that explosiveness. And this
one's going to be in modes.
With this mode, the faster you pull, the greater the resistance. So
if you pull slow, it's going to be less resistant.
If you pull fast, it's going to be more resistant.
So think your rowing exercises.
Think your skiing exercises. This is where this is going
to kick in. And then you're going to have your elastic.
This is going to simulate using bands
or chains, right? So, you know,
lifting up chains off the ground, right? As you're lifting the
chains, more and more links are coming off the ground
and it's adding more resistance to how
much you're lifting. If I'm lifting from the ground,
just pulling to here is not going to be
as much. And if I go to here and then I go overhead press,
that's going to be even more
resistance with that elastic mode.
And I really like that they explain these things right, right
on the screen. It doesn't leave any guessing.
It's not going to have you looking, flipping through
their manual. It literally tells you exactly what each mode does.
Another cool feature is you can
log and track exactly what your exercise back,
chest, arms, whatever muscle group is going to
log that exercise for that muscle group.
And it tracks every rep, the weights, how much you're
moving it. It gives you the tempo of the weight,
how much you're moving, where you're pausing,
when you're stopping, all of that gets tracked.
So there's no need for notebooks tracking how
much weight, how many sets, how many reps you did.
And the computer behind the machine does all of
that for you. Now you can go into free training mode
if you know what you're doing, which is
primarily what I would be using.
But you can also go into their pre-built courses and pre-built
exercises where you can literally follow along
do exactly what they're showing you on the screen
real time together like it's your own personal trainer you can
also obviously check all of your
training data just like you can check every
exercise every workout every rep you can see
how you're doing for the week for the month
and over a longer period of time and measure your
progress so if you're curious whether
or not you're lifting more or you're stronger today
than you were a week ago
or a month ago this machine if you're logging all of it will tell
you that let's talk final verdict overall i really love
this machine i think it is very well built
it is very well designed it's got those extra bells
and whistles with the pull-up bar and the
dip attachments that i have yet to see
on any other smart gym that i've tested i personally
love those features one thing i wish that they did
is that they sent a bench with the machine
if you're paying for a smart gym you should expect
to have a bench to use the handles for example
don't have the smart buttons on it
and you have that one smart button that has to keep getting
reattached everywhere give this a solid nine out
of ten can there be improvements of course there
can always be improvements to any machine to any gym
to any piece of equipment however this offers
that full package and i can confidently say
that this can replace an entire garage gym it can
replace your entire gym membership
because you can pretty much do everything that you can do in a gym
on this machine as always smash that like smash
