I'm meteorologist Rich Hoffman, your hyper local weather forecast,
beautiful weather out there, the crystal clear blue sky.
It is a little bit breezy, especially out over the east end.
We're tracking a storm that is producing some gusty winds over
the next couple of days. You can see here in Northport,
temperatures will top out into the lower 60s.
We do have that wind around 20 miles per hour,
so breezy the rest of our Monday afternoon.
Here's our nor'easter that we're watching.
High pressure to north, low pressure to south.
And what does that mean for us? Well, the storm will stay
out over the ocean but we'll see some gusty winds we're going
to be on the northern edge here of the
pressure system and that's going to lead
to those gusty winds now by Wednesday into Thursday with
the waves piling up in the wind there could be some minor beach erosion
and minor coastal flooding
as well as those waves build along the south shore
and you can see here that north easterly wind
Tuesday afternoon 25 to 30 miles
per hour we'll get some wind gusts close to 40 miles per hour
into your Wednesday morning, and we'll hold these gusty winds
Wednesday afternoon, Wednesday evening, into Thursday morning.
That's why we're running the potential of some beach erosion
and minor coastal flooding, because you can see here,
Tuesday into Wednesday,
those large waves are moving on to the south shore,
and we've already had some major damage from the last nor'easter,
so we have to watch this very closely
from Tobay Beach right out towards Montauk.
The rest of our Monday, sunshine, breezy, cool.
temperatures will be in the upper 50s
and low 60s 40s for tonight partly cloudy skies again a little
bit of a gusty wind over the east end dry weather
but gusty winds Tuesday Wednesday Thursday you
can see temperatures upper 50s
and low 60s right now most of the 10-day forecast is dry
