In this video, Ivan Bessonov performs the first movement, Allegro, from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Piano Sonata No. 12 in F Major, K. 332 (300k).

Mozart's Piano Sonata No. 12 in F Major, K. 332, is believed to have been composed around 1783, when the composer was 27 years old. At that time, Mozart was establishing himself in Vienna as an independent musician, working as a pianist, composer, and teacher.

In 1782, Mozart married Constanze Weber. During the summer of 1783, the couple travelled to Salzburg, where Mozart introduced his wife to his father, Leopold, and his sister, Maria Anna, known as Nannerl. Researchers have suggested that the F-major sonata may have been written during this visit, although Vienna is another possible place of composition.

The sonata belongs to a group of three works: K. 330 in C major, K. 331 in A major, and K. 332 in F major. They were published together in Vienna by Artaria in 1784 as Mozart's Opus 6.

In a letter to his father in June 1784, Mozart mentioned that he had given these three piano sonatas to the publisher Artaria for engraving. This correspondence provides an important documentary link between the composer and the publication of the works.

The F-major sonata consists of three movements: Allegro, Adagio, and Allegro assai.

The opening Allegro begins with a graceful, lyrical theme, but its musical character soon becomes more dramatic. Mozart contrasts delicate melodic phrases with energetic passages, unexpected accents, and changes of mood. The movement combines the elegance of the Classical style with expressive contrasts and a rich variety of musical ideas.

The sonata was written during a particularly productive period in Mozart's life, when his reputation in Vienna as a pianist and composer was growing and his keyboard music was reaching an increasingly wide audience.\
