Abu Hashim Dead: Senior Lashkar-e-taiba Figure Dies under Unclear Circumstances in Pakistan | News18

A senior Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) figure, Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar, also known as Abu Hashim, has died in Lahore, Pakistan, bringing renewed attention to the leadership and financial networks of the terror outfit.

Sarwar, a founding member of Lashkar-e-Taiba, reportedly died on October 18, 2026. Initial reports described him collapsing while travelling to a mosque for prayers, while other accounts said he sustained a fatal head injury after falling on the stairs at Markaz Qudsia, a religious complex associated with the organisation. The precise circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.

Sarwar held senior positions within LeT and was associated with its fundraising and financial operations in Pakistan’s Punjab province. The US Treasury Department designated him a terrorist in 2016 over his role in the organisation’s financial support network.
