That's right, guys. Starting today, the Waller Maple parking lot here
in White Plains is going to be closing down as construction begins.
Some big news for those of you that either live in White Plains
or come to White Plains often, and it's at least
the third parking area to close in the city in the last year.
That includes the privately owned 50 Hale Avenue parking garage,
which suffered a partial structural collapse,
and the Lexington Grove West garage.
Both of those closed down one year ago this week.
month now if you know the area you'll know
this waller maple parking lot provides parking to local
businesses and restaurants all along mamaroneck avenue
that includes hudson grill lilies and
brazen fox and very popular spots here officials
with the city say quote the lot has been in need
of improvements for years and the new lot will improve those needs
while making the lot safer
more accessible and more attractive
so city officials say there are still several other
parking options for residents
and visitors that includes the lion place parking garage right
across the street from the waller maple lot you can
also park in the city center and library
garages as well as other municipal garages
and of course downtown's street parking now the estimated
timeline for when this construction is set
to be finished has not actually been revealed yet we do
have calls out we do have email out to city officials
to get further details on that case
and we're waiting to hear back.
In the meantime, we're in White Plains, Westchester County.
