(491) Snake Skin Dutch / Bloom Technique! Acrylic Pouring Video

After these were all dry my husband said the texture these have look just like snake skin! I used the Shelee art recipe and kept my paints really thick. This was the first time that I tried a cell activator with a metallic paint and I think the heaviness of the paint sunk slightly which caused a really awesome snake skin texture within the dried piece!

I used white house paint for my base and added a little bit of GAC 800. The second layer with the black is Sherwin Williams Ultra Deep Base with Matisse carbon black and the top layer (cell activator) is Amsterdam Pewter along with Australian Floetrol. The Australian Floetrol works so well to help create cells. I used the hair dryer to blow out the paint and then spun away to spread the paint out!

When it was first drying, I was worried that the pewter would just sink and disappear, but it dried really well. I am wondering if other metallics would work like this and I can't wait to see what other kinds of unique texture I can make!
