The Jets Just Got Some GREAT News...
Oct 18, 2026
The Jets just got great news.
Rookie Omar Cooper, who flashed brilliance in week one,
is now officially back for tomorrow's matchup versus the Patriots.
And Kenyon Sadiq is good from his concussion protocol scare,
giving Aaron Glenn more weapons to work with
as his offense faces a very tough Patriots defense
in what's going to be a massive challenge
for the New York Jets tomorrow.
But what I think is a golden opportunity for this team
to assert themselves as a real sleeper in the AFC
and pull off a dramatic upset in what would be, I believe,
Aaron Glenn's signature win of his career.
What's going on, guys? I'm Josh Byrne.
You're tuned into Jets Digest.
Guys, thank you for all the support.
It does mean a lot if you're one of the 65% of viewers who are watching

It's free, and of course, we have daily Jets content coming to you.
Like today's video in which Omar Cooper is set for a return and man,
oh man, do them
Jets need this.
This is what Aaron Glenn had to say about Omar Cooper coming back.
He said, I'm excited for any of our guys
that actually misses time and has a chance to come
back, get a chance to play.
And when you look at Omar Cooper's numbers,
it's kind of laughable to even look at them.
I mean, he has one catch for 30 yards.
But if you remember back in that week one
when there were so many positives to look
back on in that game,
one of them was the one play in which Omar Cooper was targeted,
he looked darn good.
It was kind of an out route that he made a man miss,
made another man miss, and all of
a sudden he's down the field for 30 yards.
Unfortunately, at the end of that play, he hurt his ankle.
And he's been on the IR ever since then.
But tomorrow we're going to see, yet again,
the Jets' first round wide receiver get back onto the playing field.
And it could not have come at a better time.
When you look at the Jets' receiving depth, it is coming together
a little bit better right now with the inclusion of one Omar Cooper.
But they're still without Adonai Mitchell.
Adonai Mitchell, you see that wide receiver too.
He's still not back.
so that means Omar Cooper is essentially wide receiver two
but he'll mostly be playing out of
the slot and then defensively the Jets are in better shape
in terms of the injury front especially
with Minka Fitzpatrick who came back last
or the past couple weeks and has looked good and he is
staying healthy so they've been overall pretty good
in terms of the injury department and they're
getting healthier and I believe Omar Cooper
is going to have a big impact I'm trading yes on
him to be the top fantasy rookie wide receiver
this week if you do that on calci right now you
trade 25 you could win a max payout of 157
and 46 cents looking at the market in terms of who is
projected to be the top fantasy rookie wide receiver
this week you got gold you got not
Golden Tate but Carnell Tate listed
as the favorite amongst Calshi traders and Denzel Boston
number two and you can input your voice versus other traders
on Calshi if you would like
because Calshi is the sponsor of this video
and remember guys you're trading directly against
other users not the house like traditional sports
books you're buying yes or no on contracts on the
outcomes of events not just across sports
but also politics or even the weather so if you're
interested in trying out Calshi you can use
the link in the description and pin comment
using code DIGESTNFL to get $55 added to your account instantly
when you trade your first $25.
So, moving back into this game tomorrow
and the importance of one Omar Cooper.
When we really break it down for you,
we got to, first of all, look at the practice reps.
And the fact that he was even participating this week
was a huge green flag.
But one thing that was a red flag was that we were worried,
and I made a video about it about Kenyon Sadiq
and what he would be able to provide because
he suffered a concussion scare.
And I understand that Kenyon Sadiq has not been targeted as much,
and we'll get into that in a second.
But this is a guy who is still one of the most talented
players on the team. You saw it in the Lions game that this is a guy
who, when he's involved in the
offense like he should be,
he can be one of the most explosive playmakers on the New York Jets.
And Kenyon Sadiq absolutely adds a new dimension.
Because him being out there provides
the team with yet another massive weapon.
And he did practice fully.
He looks good for Sunday, according to Brian Costello.
And this is what Kenyon Sadiq had to say about his role recently.
I think the possibilities are endless.
And even with Jeremy Ruckert in there,
really, they can do whatever they want.
And I think it's pretty unique and pretty cool.
And it kind of just opens it for everyone.
I absolutely agree.
When you look at Kenyon Sadiq's numbers,
again, they're nothing too flashy.
These aren't his actual numbers.
Oh, no, they are.
These are his numbers.
Fourteen catches, 146 yards, and a touchdown.
You know, most of these came in one game.
Frank Reich, I'm looking at you
because the targets for Kenyon Sadiq need to improve.
I mean, this is his holistic chart of where he's getting the ball,
And I understand that the Jets aren't a team
that's going to throw it deep all the time.
But in terms of the 0-8 yard routes, even behind the line of scrimmage,
you think back to week one against the Titans,
him getting that touchdown basically over the left
and getting the toss from Geno Smith, that was huge.
They have to be creative with Kenyon Sadiq.
He's too athletic, he is too talented,
and he needs more of a role in this offense
Because he's not just a tight end, he can line up as a slot receiver.
The Jets can do a lot with him.
Now, in terms of Brees Hall,
the Jets still need Breece Hall and Adonai Mitchell.
It's unfortunate they still have those guys back,
and they're key players.
And also, Dylan Parham is also going to be out,
who has graded out very well at left guard for the Jets.
So, we're likely going to see more of Jordan Meredith.
When you look at Breece Hall's numbers so far this season,
he has struggled to run the ball.
and I also understand that Braylon Allen has done a good job,
but ultimately you want the Jets' offense to be fully evolved
to see the true possibilities here.
And Breece Hall is a guy
that Darren Moore just extended over the past offseason,
so you certainly want to see him back.
And then as far as Adonai Mitchell,
I thought he was really coming around.
You look at his throw chart for the season,
and really he was getting involved, whether it be the deep throws,
the intermediate, or the short passing game.
And in terms of any updates on his timeline, Aaron Glenn said,
we thought it was going to be a week-to-week injury.
It just happened to extend out a little bit more.
It was an injury to his hand,
specifically his finger for Adonai Mitchell.
He did have a small procedure, according to Zach Rosenblatt on Twitter,
but currently he's moving his fingers around well,
and he's still week-to-week.
So when you take a rundown of the Jets' missing playmakers,
you have Adonai Mitchell, you have Breece Hall,
but the great news here is that Omar Cooper is back into the mix.
more great news Kenyon Sadiq is playing
and you know what Aaron Glenn's 2-3 this is a huge game
and we had a recent commenter say we don't need
to wait to look at Ben Johnson, Clint Kubiak,
Mike McDonald and and the likes Aaron Glenn
is not a good coach it's fair to think that way I
mean that he went 3-14 last year they're 2-3 this year
so if you do the math 3 plus 2 5 14 plus 3
He's 5-17.
That is a dreadful record, no doubt about it.
But, look, the Jets are improving.
There's no doubt about it.
And tomorrow's going to be a big test.
I don't necessarily expect a win,
but I absolutely believe the Jets can do it.
And in order for that to do it, for them to do it,
again, they're going to need to target Kenyon Sadiq more.
They're going to need to get pressure on Drake May.
and getting Omar Cooper back needs
to be an evident addition to this offense, okay?
Because if you're looking at the offense right now,
what would help the Jets' offense the most?
More touches for Cooper and Sadiq, more balance beyond Garrett Wilson,
or better execution from Geno Smith?
I think Geno Smith has done an admirable job in terms of his execution,
but I think the Jets need to get more touches for Cooper and Sadiq.
I think the Jets need to utilize their rookies
not just because they're talented,
but because these are going to be integral playmakers
for the team moving forward.
And we need to see what we have in them, especially with Omar Cooper,
because we haven't seen much from him so far.
You look at the standings right now,
and that was a huge win for the Jets last week.
I don't think the Jets have any shot of winning the AFC East.
You never know.
But in terms of playoffs, hey, they win tomorrow, they're 3-3.
But looking at the landscape of the AFC,
it is it feels imperative that they pull off
the upset tomorrow in New England so they got some
pieces back on offense that is a huge huge thumbs up
for the team in terms of there's chances but
obviously it's going to take a lot more than
that the final question to you folks in the comments
which rook rookie who is returning will make
a difference we know Omar Cooper is coming back
that's really the only one let me rephrase that will
the rookie return make a difference for Omar
Cooper yes he'll make an immediate impact b he'll make some impact
but not enough to get the Jets
over the finish line or c the Jets offense still needs more
and as noted they're still waiting on
Bryce Hall and Ad Mitchell comment below let me know
and as always guys let's go Jets
