"When the Mist Clears"

A sensitive dramatic story of loss, pain, self-discovery and a second chance for a family long torn apart by their own wounds from the past. Isabella is a young woman who has been deeply scarred since childhood: her life was shattered at the age of 13 when her Italian mother died, leaving her daughter alone with her estranged father. Frank, a successful Briton who hides his own painful secret, could not cope with the tragedy and fled into work, leaving his daughter to be raised by nannies, tutors and psychologists.

Many years have passed, Frank has remarried a sensitive Italian woman, Claudia, who seeks to restore the destroyed family ties. She convinces her husband to leave his job, the hustle and bustle of the city, disconnect from the Internet and spend a month on a remote Italian estate in the middle of nature. Here, far from the noise of civilization, the family gets a chance to find understanding again, open up to each other, let go of old resentments and heal emotional wounds. The film, shot during the pandemic in the format of experimental improvisation, conveys the sincere atmosphere of people's attempts to learn to love and be together again, when the fog of the past finally begins to dissipate.
