Holiday Romance with Meghan Quinn

episode of Lit Happens with Sid, I would like to welcome a very special author who does anything that's cool, quirky, with romance involved, and it's just in time for the holidays if you're looking for nice romance books. Megan Quinn. Megan, how are you? I'm doing great. Thank you so much for having me. Thank you so much for taking the time to come on, and your books are just an entire vibe when it comes to the holidays and just romances. But before we kind of take a look into your work tell us a little bit about who you are and what really sparked your interest into becoming an author yeah so I as you said I'm Megan Quinn I am a mother first and foremost to adopted children and I'm also a full-time author I write romance and I have always just loved love from the very beginning is what I can remember like back in the day my parents would take me to Blockbuster on Fridays and I would get to pick what book I want or what movie I wanted to watch and i always just picked the the newest rom-com that was available i'm a i'm a product of the 2000 rom-com era so um i've just always kind of loved love in general and uh when i started writing i that just gravitated toward that yeah and i love how you have combined love with like a little bit of heated rivalries but it all ends in fluffy holiday love um with your books and the first one is um how my neighbor stole christmas and i love it because it reminds me of the Grinch which is my favorite christmas movie and so tell readers a little bit if they're not familiar with this book in this series what's involved in this very first one the very first one is more of an enemies to lovers grumpy sunshine the grumpy comes from the Grinch um and it's about two characters who have known each other for a little bit but story comes back into town and she decides that she wants to be part of the Kringle Town competition that happens every year and Cole the main um male character he's like oh no you think you can come into town and take this like this crown absolutely not so then they go into battle of who's gonna win the the Kringle Town honor and um obviously enemies to lovers everything unfolds and um yeah it's such a fun fun story and I love anytime there's enemies to lovers because it's like you're just looking at this person you're like oh I can't stand your guts but then like I'm secretly in love with you like it just it's a slow burn where it just builds over time and then you kind of contradict yourself because you guys end up falling in love at the end so but it's like what's better than to do that around like the fall like the christmassy time second one is merry christmas your filthy animal and that one of course reminds me of Home Alone which is another one of my favorite christmas movies so tell viewers a little bit about what's in this um holiday romance book for book two max from the first book so then i was like okay we'll go into book two and this one is more so another kind of enemies to lovers sort of situation but max is very much the kind of guy that is gullible and will be very dramatic and so he thinks that this girl who comes into town is trying to steal his business his parents business and since his parents are out of town he's like i gotta save the family business and um they kind of go back and forth between doing you know fighting over it and um there's a lot of there's a a snowed-in scene that's very exciting and uh yeah it's just a very chaotic type book and then you have book three which is Christmas vacation and so tell us a little bit about what's in this final book of this holiday Christmas love stories it's it's stories it's her sister and her be getting married but no one knows that they actually broke up and so they're pretending to get married so that no one they don't ruin Christmas and they're Christmas wedding and but they're pretending the entire time his brother comes into town and Nolan and Taryn have known each other for a long time and Nolan kind of swoops in finds out that they're they've been faking it this whole time and so he's like now's my chance and so he swoops in and it's um ex-fiance's brother trope which i've never done before yeah you always like those are like some of the best tropes i don't know why but it's like i just love the drama the drama of it all and so megan what's next for you you know in this literary world because you don't only you know just have these three books you have so many more romance novels that's under your belt so what's next what's next is i'm stepping my little toe into some western romance next year so look out for that and i'm finishing up my sports series um the third and final book comes out summer next year as well before i let you go is there anything else that you would like to say to fellow book lovers out there especially as we enter into this holiday romance season. Yeah, I say just do your holidays the way that you do it. Celebrate those traditions. Have fun. Snuggle up with a book by a fire. And I just really hope that you have a great holiday season.
