Hi and welcome along to AFTV Transfer Daily,
the show that keeps you up to date with players
that may link with a summer transfer move to Arsenal.
As you can see, I'm in a hotel room
at the moment up in Manchester.
I was at the PFA Awards yesterday and listen, Arsenal players
really representing at the PFA Awards yesterday.
Five Arsenal players in the PFA team of the year.
No surprise, because obviously we won the league, but David Raya,
Jurrien Timber, Gabriel, Saliba and Declan Rice, all in Team of the Year.
So something for every Arsenal fan to be really proud of,
that we had such a good representation there.
However, the award for Player of the Year didn't go to Declan Rice,
it went to Bruno Fernandes.
no surprise there because he was tipped
to win it still for me um and listen Bruno Fernandes
outstanding player did have a great season broke that assist record
but I'm sorry for me and there
was quite a lot of other people there I
was discussing it with as well we felt Declan Rice
should have won it just simply
because playing every single game under extreme pressure you know
to go on and and then win Arsenal's first title he
was the main guy as far as I was concerned
either him or Gabriel but the main guy
in that pushing Arsenal to win their first league in 22
years I felt Declan Rice should have got it
but maybe you're going to say I'm biased because I'm
an Arsenal fan um well done to Olivia Smith
as well she won the uh young player of the year um
for the WSL uh outstanding player second year
in a row she won that as well so well done to her
it's brilliant for her but who is coming
in and hopefully we'll have even bigger representation in the
team of the year uh next year
because we would have retained it it's alvarez daily you know that
guys it's alvarez daily right now it's
the biggest transfer story in town Julian Alvarez being linked
to either Barcelona or Arsenal where is he going
to end up the saga continues i can't help but
talk about it every single day until this transfer window
is closed he still hasn't come out and said
anything he said to be really upset over
the whole saga listen if you come out and say you want to go
to Barcelona you're going to really pee
those fans off there in Atletico it's as simple as that
um i saw um the ex-players at Dugary yesterday calling him
um ex-french player calling him an
idiot for the way he's gone about um doing things
because he did announce when he was away at the
world cup that you know he wants to leave to go
to Barcelona um and it's not gone down well now
are Atletico starting to prepare for life without Julian Alvarez
because um they were looking to
sell Alexander Sørloth their Norwegian striker
um from the start of the window it was said that he
was going to be moving on um but looks like
at the moment they they're considering keeping
Sørloth because you know they are really in fear
that uh they're gonna have to lose Alvarez and
also Fabrizio Romano reporting today
that um Atletico really interested in signing Jonathan
David from Juventus Jonathan David he only just moved
to Juventus last year from Lille remember
he was uh you know phenomenal at Lille
but it hasn't worked out for him at Juventus and Juventus
are looking to sell Jonathan David
um and Atletico said to be interested in him so listen
certainly looks like they are trying to prepare
for the fact that they could lose Alvarez before
the end of the transfer window where is he going to end up
who knows um but you know I was looking
at um the history, the recent history of Atletico
when it's come to high profile players that have
wanted to leave um for one of their rivals they don't sell
to their rivals they are really strict
on this um Falcao when he wanted to leave remember Falcao
the the Colombian um striker he wanted to
go to Real Madrid um they ended up selling
into Monaco they said no you're not going to Real
Madrid there was Sergio Aguero I spoke about
this a couple of days ago Aguero had his heart set on
Real Madrid they wanted him they refused to sell him
um Atletico Madrid he went to Manchester City
they had uh Diego Forlan who was banging in the goals left right
and center for um Atletico Madrid
he wanted to go to Real Madrid they said
no he ended up going to Inter Milan and Antoine Griezmann
he did go to the club um and it was Barcelona
so he wanted to go to Barcelona he ended up going to
Barcelona but there's a big big difference
um before you say yeah what about him he had a
release clause of around about 120 million pounds I think it
was it was euros I think it was pounds
they paid it Barcelona they came in they paid the release clause
so then you know Atletico couldn't
stand in his way and he joined Barcelona
but as you can see there with those high profile players
all strikers they are very strict they dig their heels
in and they will not sell to their rival so
it's going to be interesting he's tried to force the move Alvarez
but this might backfire on him
and if he does leave there is a strong chance he could end up
for Arsenal I think it's a 50-50 at
the moment I really do obviously it's going
to depend on the player we've heard all these things
about you know he he if he came back
to England visa restrictions on family members um he doesn't
like listen we're gonna find out one way
or the other very soon because the window shuts
on the 1st of September um one player that's going
is Martinelli Fabrizio Romano reporting today that
direct talks are continuing to take place between Al Hilal
and representatives of Gabriel Martinelli
he's not against the move the deal's going
to be worth around about 55 million pounds
which there should be a sell-on clause including
in that of around 50 to 20 percent so that's if
that's the case and they do have that sell-on clause
in there it will represent quite a good
deal for Arsenal especially
when you consider they didn't really pay much money at all for
Martinelli it's going to represent a lot of profit for Arsenal
and they do need to get some money
back through the door
so Martinelli getting ever closer to this move to Al-Hilal I saw David
Ornstein last night I was chatting to him about this at the PFA awards
and he's saying yeah he's
guy Robbie um another player that Arsenal
are actively trying to um sell but they're struggling
just because um you know a lot of the teams can't afford him
at the moment is Gabriel Jesus
Napoli still very interested in signing Jesus
but they just ain't got the money at the moment
they're trying to get some sales done they're trying
to move on Noah Lang um they they're
trying to sell him so that they can raise the funds to try
and get close to Arsenal's 20 million
pounds valuation for Gabriel Jesus Arsenal really would like Jesus
to to leave before the end of the
transfer window as well as good a servant as he's
been but they'd like to get those big wages off
of their wage bill interestingly Atletico Madrid
also interested in Gabriel Jesus could he possibly
be part of some kind of deal that would maybe bring Alvarez
the other way if it boils down to
that it wouldn't it would make sense it would
be a decent move for him as well again that's going
to be an interesting one to watch there's
a lot more moving parts to it can they do the wages he
wants etc does he even want to go there you know i mean
but um you know atletico also said to be
interested in Gabriel Jesus
and another player looks like he's exiting as we know before the end
of the transfer window is Ethan Waneri there's
been lots of uh links linking in with like uh
teams like um rb leipzig and dortmund
and various clubs Inter Milan Newcastle are said to be very
interested in taking him on loan now
for me personally i i would rather see even Waneri
go out on a loan to somewhere like a newcastle
that may be the bundesliga i think that would
be just exactly what he would need like going
to a team in the premier league you know pitting
himself against all the top Premier League teams
and hopefully then proving that he's ready and
then we bring him back to Arsenal
so I would like to see that one come through for him to go to
somewhere like Newcastle I think that would
be a really really good move but we'll have to wait and
see still a few days to go until the end
of the transfer window we're here over here well I say
we're here we're still in England we're up
in Manchester at the moment we've been around the
place haven't we on these transfer dailies transfer dailies coming
from Mexico coming from
France we've been around a bit over the summer
but it's coming to a conclusion how is it all
going to end up will Arsenal get Alvarez that's
the big one thanks for watching and I'll see you
