Drone strikes have been reported across several parts of Sudan,
as fighting between the army
and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces intensifies.
The army says on Friday afternoon it hit RSF command centers in Nyala,
the capital of South Darfur, and a major stronghold of the group.
Dozens of fighters were killed and military facilities destroyed.
But the RSF and its allies accuse the army
of striking a crowded livestock market,

the sudanese mineral resources company says it
was caused by a drone attack on friday

the un says drone strikes have
become the leading cause of civilian deaths
in sudan killing at least 1 120 people in the first
six months of this year over the past few weeks
the RSF has been accused of drone attacks far
beyond the battlefield.
In Blue Nile and West Kordofan states,
suspected RSF drone attacks have killed dozens of civilians,
including people near a displacement camp.
A UN fact-finding mission has
also found reasonable grounds to believe that RSF drone strikes
in Al Obeid between July and August may amount to war crimes.
And as the violence spreads, more people are being forced to flee.
The International Organization
for Migration says more than 10,000 people were displaced
in Blue Nile between September 26 and October 4,
a period that coincided with the pattern
of RSF drone attacks in the area.
As the fighting intensifies,
civilians are paying the price in lives, livelihoods and
their future.
And with drone strikes reaching an expanding range of civilian sites,
even those who have
already fled the fighting are struggling to find safety.
