we have some really great ideas for you and your family.
Erica Bigelow with Seattle's Child
Magazine joining us with all the fun.
Hey, Erica, good to see you.
Hey, good morning.
Okay, so we're starting with an event that's all about friendship,
and there's also a banjo involved.
Tell us about this one.
Absolutely, and everything is better with a banjo.
So you want to head to Town Hall today.
This is a fun morning.
They've got banjo, they've got guitar, they've got sing-along songs.
The Okey Dokey Brothers from Colorado are going to be playing
their American folk music about making forts and the neighborhood creek
and camping and imagination and friendship and more.
They have been called the Shel Silverstein of family music.
And this duo is reminding all ages that it's just great to dance
and sing and that the best adventures begin right off your front porch.
So bring your dancing shoes.
The show starts at 11 and the doors open at 10.
Hey, the Okey Dokey Brothers have some pretty catchy music.
Okay, this next one is exciting.
Forget Cannes, this is a film festival for the kiddos?
Absolutely.
You can join the TASVIR Film Festival today
for a screening called Kids Adulting.
And it's a collection of short films from South Asian
and international filmmakers
which explore childhood and family dynamics
and the process of finding your place in the world.
So they've got films about sibling relationships and imagination
and moments of connection between young people and adults.
And these stories offer a glimpse
into these experiences that shape us all as we grow.
So the festival is great for 10 and up and their families.
And you can get tickets for that online.
Very cool.
Okay, Halloween is also right around the corner.
How can we get into the spooky spirit this weekend?
Well, this one's a treat.
So this is the longest running monthly family magic show
in Seattle is putting on an interactive Halloween edition.
So you can watch magician Raymond whip up an hour of spooky
and fun interactive magic.
That's today at 2 o'clock.
There's going to be comedy and mind reading and illusions.
Lots of audience participation
and kids are encouraged to come wearing costumes.
And this is taking place in the fourth floor
of the Armory Building at the Seattle Center.
And it's just a great one.
You can get tickets for that online or at the door.
That sounds awesome, especially for the little ones.
Okay, what's happening in West Seattle, some salmon hat making?
Everybody needs a salmon hat.
That's true.
The Fauntleroy Fall Festival is back on Sunday.
They've got a collection of their annual fun
and favorite activities happening.
You can head to the hall at Fauntleroy, the Fauntleroy Church, and the
Fauntleroy Schoolhouse to try your hand at that salmon hat making.
They've got pumpkin painting,
birdhouse painting, and a pie eating contest.
Plus, there's going to be plenty of live entertainment
and community vendors on hand.
And the event itself is free,
but just bring some money along for incidentals.
Okay, I love salmon hats and I love pie.
It is also, speaking of apple season,
where can we go to take full advantage of the harvest?
Absolutely.
Downtown Issaquah, that's where you want to head.
The harvest season in historic downtown Issaquah
is happening with a variety of fun activities.
This event is called Issaquah Goes Apples.
apples. And they've got a farm fresh market
and historically hip artisan market. They've
got an apple cider press going.
They'll have scarecrow building art experiences, live music
and more. So you can go and shop at the markets
while enjoying plenty of family friendly activities.
Lots of them will be apple themed.
They've got those games and tasty samples and seasonal
entertainment. All ages are gonna love this.
It's happening today from nine to two and
the event is free.
Erica, so many good ideas.
I can't pick a favorite.
Thank you.
Yeah, you're going to be busy.
Have a great one.
You too.
