Adam, thank you. We continue to follow developing news
in Burien right now. Deputies investigating
a deadly shooting there.
This happened on 2nd Avenue and 130th, and FOX 13's Sam Campbell is
on the scene. Sam, you've been speaking with deputies
on the scene. What are they telling you?
Well, Bill, a spokesperson tells us that one man is dead
and another one is injured, but they do
not have any suspects in custody. Here's what we do know.
The first 911 calls reporting the gunshots
came in around 3 41 this morning
and now as you can see behind me they are still here when
deputies got here though they found a man dead
on the grass near the street and responders sent
another man to the hospital
but they say that his injuries are not life-threatening and since then
the neighborhood has been filled with patrol cruisers
and detectives from the major crimes
unit a spokesperson tells us they are interviewing multiple people
but they are not calling anyone a
person of interest at this point.
And again, no arrests made right now, but there's still a lot
that's unknown. I asked where specifically
this shooting took place and the sheriff's office
does not have an answer
on that or if the two victims know each other or the shooter,
but he says the work is just beginning.
This is all about safety first, right? We've got to make
it safe. And then once everything,
we can slow everything down, that's when the investigation
will start. They'll start interviewing people,
releasing people that don't need to be here
And then throughout the morning they will go through
and start combing for evidence in the area.
So this investigation is going to take quite some time.
Detectives are going to be photographing the scene here,
talking with neighbors and gathering any kind of clues they can
to get them an idea of what happened to lead up to the shooting
and where that suspect may have gone.
And again, the suspect not in custody,
but the sheriff's office says there is no ongoing threat to the public.
In Burien, Sam Campbell, Fox 13 News.
