AI GeneratedFans are buzzing with excitement as the Golden State Valkyries prepare for their first finals appearance. From the high energy and sold-out crowds at the Chase Center to creative community displays in the Richmond district, the city is embracing the team's historic rise and the unifying power of the \"Valhalla\" spirit.
Absolutely. Every corner of the city,
including right here in the city's Richmond district.
Claudine, welcome to Buhala.
We will show you a little bit more about that in just a minute
as the city gets ready for Halloween and,
of course, that big game for the Valkyries.
The team store at Chase Center, the home of the Golden State Valkyries,
is ready for the team's first finals appearance.
Oh, it's amazing. From the very first game I went to, I love it.
I mean, I'm a big Warriors fan, as you can see,
but yeah, Valkyries, when they came
and I started going to their games, I'll be there tomorrow.
At the team store, fans were picking out that perfect outfit,
black and violet, of course.
What gets me is when you walk into the stadium
and you see a sea of violet and you hear the cheers
and it really vibrates in your chest.
It's so overwhelming. You almost cry.
New fans say they're all in.
It feels like it's a piece of history.
It feels like something special is happening.
and just to be part of it by, you know,
buying the gear, going to the games,
talking to other fans here, just making those connections.
It's just an amazing, special experience I'm feeling right now.
Fans say on game days, Chase Center is transformed into Valhalla,
home of the Valkyries.
Valhalla is the only stadium in the Bay Area
that has been sold out for every single game
since the entire franchise started two years ago.
Excitement about the team doesn't end at Chase Center.
Newcomers to the city's Richmond district,
Sarah Swig and Ainsley Rosito,
moved in just a few months ago and created Valhalla.
We've been here since just July, and so we figured, you know,
we might as well see what the neighbors think about us
by putting a bunch of skeletons that are Valkyries-themed in our yard.
But all jokes aside, it's been a really nice way to meet the neighbors
and all the kids in the neighborhood.
Now, what started out as a show of support for the Valkyries
has evolved into a record of their winning ways.
We had the skeletons and we had the jerseys
and we thought we'll just do kind of Halloween,
Valhalla themed.
And then when they played the wings,
we had the skeletons out there eating chicken wings
and then we kind of rearranged them
and we wanted to put Caitlin Clark on Veronica Burton's back
charging into battle like they do before the games.
And then that was fun for people.
And then obviously when they swept the Aces
and we took down the reigning champs,
we were like, we got to do something big for the Aces.
So put out kind of the bottle service,
you know, the sign like they have in Vegas.
Yeah, from Vegas now to the Atlanta Dream, you can take a look at,
see that this is still very much a work in progress.
You can see all of the sleep references here.
Atlanta's worst nightmare, hoping to turn a big win
for the Valkyries into the Dream's worst nightmare.
A lot of excitement here at this home in particular.
Clayton, I got to tell you,
one of the best parts about this was watching folks walk
by and see this house and interact with the homeowners
and hang out and talk with them and just kind of get that vibe.
There were tons of Valkyrie fans out here in the Richmond district, all
sharing community and all sharing excitement over tomorrow's big game.
Yeah, you do feel like you're a part of this piece
of history where people will say, do you remember when?
And we'll all say, yes,
we were there when it started and it just took off from the start.
I do appreciate the commitment of those fans behind you.
I'm wondering, is this going
to change every game in terms of what they do
and what they design out there?
Because it's pretty cool.
Yeah, so I don't know that it's going to change every game.
They might have sort of a running tally of how the scores go.
But like I said, like they explained, it has changed.
They had references to the aces,
and they have references to all
of the steps that the Valkyries have taken
to get to this point.
my question for them is how are you guys going
to top this are you going to do something amazing
for christmas they said maybe we'll we'll see about christmas
but they said this might be sort
of an annual tradition just having something out here
to celebrate uh the valkyries every year and
buhala sounds like a great tradition yes well i
know how they top it they put some championship
banners for the champions uh
when the valkyries uh win this series all right thanks christian
i like where your head's at claudine
