How to Save Your Hard Earned Money...Let's Do It!

Okay, we're walking down a hallway. Oh, here. Here's some closet doors. Okay, these are nice doors. They're just for a little closet, okay? I had the same issue with these. These weren't working properly. One was sagging, one was not sagging. Which one was sagging, which one was not sagging? How to fix that? How to go about fixing a sagging door? You know you can fix a sagging door? I fixed this one. You can't see anything on here. You can't see what I did to make any, um, changes and alterations you can't see any of that because i i make it so that you don't have to take you don't have to patch anything this door looks exactly like it like it should right well i had to do all kinds of work on that because here's another double door set coming into the master bedroom i had to work on the inactive door there's an inactive and there's an active door did you know that the inactive door has a has a strike or has an astragal this is called an astragal there's different things you can do it was all chattering it wasn't fitting up in there it was chattering and and one of the hinges was loose you put a screw in there and the hinge uh it was still loose well there's a way to fix that and when i got all done it looks like i didn't do anything at all that's the point when you're doing things around your house on your own when you fix it you want it to look right okay i'll show you how to do stuff like that all right and um as for as for this hallway area it comes it comes into a laundry area isn't that nice well when we moved in these these are the these are the um fluorescent light fixtures and this is the cover plates the the covers lens covers okay one one of the lights wasn't working one of the bulbs wasn't working i didn't even know how many bulbs can you look in there and see how many bulbs there are you can't on this type of light lens it's kind of cool okay but how do you take a light lens like this off carefully without cracking it. There's different things you need to look at that. I go over that with you. One of the bulbs was not working. One of the bulbs in this one looked kind of pink. One over here looked kind of yellow when the rest of them look kind of white. I show you how to make heads or tails of that and what you can do about fixing that. Here's the washer and dryer. Okay. Maybe you don't have a washer and dryer like this. Maybe it's out in your garage. maybe it's in a different room no biggie you don't have to have you don't have to have them like this maybe you get one that's a stacking one do you know they have stacking ones do you also know that they have one that does both things nowadays you got that maybe you've got a dryer and you can't figure out how to get the little pipe extended um the flexible line from the um from the wall outlet how on earth do you get that hook to your dryer people do you know that i've had over a million views on just me showing how to hook that up all right people some people don't know how to do stuff like that maybe you've got something like this in your in your garage and your dryer's kind of wonky all the time i'll show you how to fix it i'll show you how to level it and your and your washing machine kind of bounces around on the high spin and every once in a while you have to push it back into place in your in your garage and because it kind of walks when it starts vibrating i'll show you how to fix that i did it over at my aunt's and everything worked good and that was probably eight years ago she still doesn't have a problem with it okay and so as for the as for the light fixture lenses not all light fixture lenses are created equal you've got all kinds of different light lenses here here in the garage let's get the light on here it's a it's a light lens cover that's a different style okay i'll show you how to take those out and on this one here i see there's two bulbs in here that aren't on there's two there should be two bulbs here two bulbs there did you know that i can see that when you go down to the store they have three or four different types of bulbs for you to get which one should you get i'll show you how to figure that out if you got fat ones and you want to put a thin one in there i just put a thin one in there it should work i'll tell you why you shouldn't do that it might work at first but then it's going to burn out and it might burn out another one you're like what's going on here i'll show you why i'll explain to you why and show you how to fix it as for the garage as for the garage door how to lube it how to check it how to check your spring tension what to do if you if you don't have a handheld remote what to do if when you're when your garage door closes uh when your garage door closes maybe maybe it doesn't maybe it doesn't fit tight maybe it doesn't fit tight down here all along here okay you see that see this one this one looks pretty pretty good doesn't it you know why because i replaced it i've never replaced one of those before until i replaced this one worked out good but the reason why i did that was because because when this thing closed there was a gap over here little miceys were running in here building little houses throughout all my tools throughout all the different things in here we've got some traps here they were smart enough to get through the traps we even got we even still have some some traps here with nothing in them you know why because when this thing closes there's no gap down there anymore and there was a gap because first off this house is 25 years old this thing was smashed up there like a pancake and there was hardly anything down there and the mice that they were fine this was a vacation for them they stayed out of the wind the rain the the snow the cold outside making the making nests in here all over the place okay i thought i can't have that so i fixed it i didn't call anybody i fixed it on my own and when i after i put the uh the new seal on there of course it wasn't lined up exactly right of course i still had a gap over here and i had a slight little gap over here i couldn't do i couldn't leave it that way okay and lucky for me the driveway it has brick on it see the bricks down here i'm just i'm just showing you off the video camera on my tripod okay i took these out i show you how to take those out i show you how to adjust them i i had to do it twice i pulled out the middle and then i redid it and i put them back in and then i i thought nope i need it better than that i'm the type of person who if i'm going to fix something i'm going to do it right i'm going to spend the time to do it right why not right and so i i had to mash this side down i had to take these out i had to redo it i had to put all those back down close it it closes it closes perfect now okay i show you stuff like that okay i'm gonna i'm gonna just i'm just gonna get that back down and i'm gonna turn this light switch off now see this light switch see how it's orange at the top that's perfect but it didn't used to be there because when we come inside in in and out of here like if we're going somewhere at night or in the early morning whatever i come out through here i always have to reach down fish for this where's the light switch i could never see it wouldn't it be nice to get a type of paddle switch where half of it is orange so at night i don't have to i don't have to fish for it i can just look down oh there it is i i did that i took the old one out even though the old paddle style single pole light switch was good i took it out i saved it in case i need it for something else okay i put in this new one all right doesn't that look good you can do that i show you how all right enough of the garage bye bye if
