Yeah, there's some other things I wanted to show you
in this particular kitchen that I worked on.
Do you know?
That most of your electrical outlets
on your kitchen countertops should be connected to GFI.
Outlet, okay. What does a GFI outlet let look like?
Say that fast. It's not. It's not here, is it?
But is is that one connected to a GFI?
I think it might be behind the toaster. Yeah, here it is. Okay, this is a GFI.
Outlet, like I showed you before, okay,
that should be tied in to all of your electrical outlets.
On top of your counters, on top of your work areas,
your your your your counters like this in the middle.
Well, this one doesn't have anything on it. Nothing.
All right. How do I know that that's connected to the GFI over there?
I show you different steps on how to figure that out. All right.
Now we had it. We had a garbage disposal that needed to be fixed.
I had to remove it. I had to fix it. It was kind of rusty.
And it wasn't working because why? Because we don't use it very often.
We usually use this sink over here. This one has a garbage disposal.
Okay. This one has a garbage disposal.
That one's got a garbage disposal, but it wasn't working.
All right, here I'll show you. I'll show you down here.
We just got these bags. We're gonna give them.
We're gonna give them to somebody here. So I don't normally leave them in here.
Here's the here's the garbage disposal. Okay.
I took that apart. I took that out. I show you how to take it out.
I show you how to reinstall it. I fixed it; it worked fine.
I show you how to do all that. Maybe your garbage disposal is stuck.
And you're hearing it hum, or it used to hum and it doesn't do anything now.
And you thought it was broken. You thought you burned it up.
You thought the motor's no good. You didn't know how to do it.
And you're getting ready to call a service company for plumbing.
And yeah, I know that's going to cost me about three hundred bucks.
Man, I don't want to do that. So you're just not using the garbage disposal at all
because you don't know how to fix it yourself.
I show you how how to go through all that. I show you how to.
To dislodge.
Whatever is in your garbage disposal. As for that, maybe you've got a sink.
We this sink faucet. When when we turned it on before, the flow went down.
You push press the buttons, and it wouldn't keep the flow on, and.
I hemmed and hawed about it, and I tried to fix it. I pulled it all apart.
I show you how to clean it, and maybe sometimes that'll fix. Maybe it won't.
Okay, and so I took I took.
This this one was the old was the old one
and and I'm like oh man now I'm gonna have to replace this whole thing
and then my wife told me hey hey video Joe why don't you take the one off
of here not this one but the other one that looked exactly like that take take
that take the nozzle bit off of this one and put it on that one that's what I did.
That's what I did, and then this one worked fine. Okay.
Done. Fixed because we didn't use this one, and then I and then I took the old one.
And I just put it back on this one over here because we never used it anyways.
And then once in a while, every once in a while, we turn the water on and off,
and it was fine. It I didn't need the hose sprayer, kind of like I did over here.
Okay, I show you I show you how to fix stuff like that.
So then later on down the road.
My wife says, "Hey, let's go ahead and replace this one."
Which was the old one? Okay, just follow me here.
The old one looked exactly like that one.
Okay, I was over here on on this island area.
All right.
And so okay, fine. She went. She went down to the store.
She got one. It looked nice. Pulls out.
And and it does it does it does everything we want.
Okay, no leaks, no nothing.
Did I call a plumber to install that? No, of course I didn't.
I did it myself, and I show you how, and I show you how to make the connections.
I show you how to go through the process. I show you how to take the old one off.
I show you how to how to check it for leaks at the end. I show you all that.
Doesn't that look good? Does that look like an average show installed that?
I'm not a I'm not a professional plumber, but you don't have to be either. Okay.
Simple things. I'm calling this a simple mini project.
M I N I. That's what this app includes. includes It includes simple mini projects
that you can update your house with.
For this, for your light switches that are bad, for your electrical outlets
that maybe are wonky or one's broken, for your ceiling fan, that.
You want to install. You don't have a ceiling fan here,
but you want to install a ceiling fan here, okay?
Upgrades like that, can you do them yourself?
Of course you can, and I'll show you. And it's all in the app experience.
Okay. As for that, here's some here's some little can lights.
You know, most of these can lights usually ninety percent of the time,
ninety five percent of the time, when you turn a can light on.
And if both those lights don't go on, guess what?
That means one of the halogens are are bad.
I'll show you, I'll show you how to remove a halogen.
I'll show you different things you can do for your next one
and for your next one after that.
How to to um.
Save money on your electricity bill. How to install a different one, but same.
For less cost per month on your electricity bill, show you how to do that.
But what happens if you if you have one of these out and you're all proud
of yourself? You got you got these halogens, and oh yeah, video Joe told me
to get these halogen bulbs, and I got some extra ones, and I and I did the thing.
I bought the six pack instead of the one or two pack
because that's going to save me. It's like buying.
It's it's like getting three bulbs for free if you buy a six
as opposed to buying three separate. Okay, I did that.
I replaced it. Now I'm kind of in a quandary because the new bulb.
Do you know that the new bulb if doesn't go on?
Do you know that every once in a while it could be that the brand new bulb is bad?
Not very often does that happen.
But do you know that there's another reason why this bulb might not be working?
There is another reason, and if you don't know,
you're going to be scratching your head. You're going to be calling somebody.
You're you're going to be wondering why is this bulb not working?
You're going to call an electrician.
You're going to call the service guy out here again.
He's going to charge you a service call. He's going to charge you
a diagnostic fee before he even puts his new tool bag on and crawls up in the attic.
You've already got that bill.
Then he then he finds out what's going on and your diagnostic.
B is for him telling you what's going on.
Then he tells you what he has to do to replace it.
And he's by the way he doesn't have the exact thing that needs to be fixed.
He's got to order. Guess what? Now he's got to come back here.
He's going to charge you another fee. Come out here to fix that.
Did you know that you can fix it yourself? Yes.
This one right here. Oh man, it was giving me fits. I thought.
I thought it was burned up.
Um, halogen bulb. It was not a burned out halogen bulb.
It was something entirely different. I had to go through all kinds of steps,
crawl through the attic, cut the area out above here, which was plywood.
Fish myself down there, see what it was, take the thing out,
go to the store, order the part, get it back.
Fix it all before I realized. Hey, you know what?
I think I can get my tiny little hand.
Which isn't that tiny into that tiny hole up there?
I think these. I think these were four inch.
Or, I think these were four inch. Okay.
And then I tried it after the end when I got ready
when I had everything pulled apart.
I thought I think I can do it if I pull this apart and work my hand just right.
You have to go by feel and there's a whole steps
and I show you how to do that on your own.
Okay.
