Well, today was definitely a blustery,
more fall-like day here across the state. We saw
some intermittent lighter showers,
but nothing that made it an all-day soaker. And I know today
the high says 69 degrees, but that hit around midnight.
And ever since then, we've seen our
temperatures falling really throughout
the remainder of the day. The average is 62,
so that number keeps falling as we get closer
and closer to the end of October.
And our sunset time, unfortunately,
keeps getting earlier and earlier. We're at 650
right now and 7:47 AM for sunrise.
So our daylight hours are continuously getting shortened
until we get at the end of October and early November.
That's when we fall back and that's
when we start to see just a touch more daylight.
Otherwise, our first freeze and our first frost
potentially here across Southeast Michigan,
we have that frost advisory for all of these counties
in purple. And then that darker purple, Genesee,
Lapeer County, that is a freeze warning, so
slightly colder, just north of us in mid-Michigan.
Otherwise, temperatures are mainly in the mid-50s
right now. Wind gusts anywhere between 20 to 25 miles per hour,
some cases almost 30 directly out
of the north. And that is funneling in that cooler air right now.
Now, we do have a bit of a lull in
terms of moisture. We have showers up near northern Michigan.
Some of that's gonna fill back in as we
head through the next hour or two.
But I think by 9 p.m. tonight, we should be done. Our Fox
Futurecast model shows rain tapering out
and kind of diminishing as we head through late tonight and
early Saturday morning.
Temps, though, are in store for a bit of a shock because we do bottom
out in the 30s tonight. We'll be falling through the 40s overnight.
A lot of us will be in the mid
to upper 30s early Saturday morning.
Feel like temperatures will be in the realm of the lower
30s, so there could be an upper 20s sprinkled in there a bit closer to,
say, the cold water area,
maybe even Kalamazoo. So just something to keep in mind.
51 Saturday, patchy frost to start.
Overall, it is going to be a chilly start to your weekend.
61 Sunday, we'll see a mix of sun
and clouds. But it's good because our temps
are headed in the right direction. We'll be
closer to seasonal Sunday, then mid to upper 60s Monday.
Now, this is the beginnings of
an above average stretch as we look towards the next 8 to 14 days,
above average across
the Great Lakes and the Ohio Valley.
And it is quiet. We don't have a whole lot in terms
of rain chances either.
Daytime highs will be in the 60s, if not lower 70s. And we're
dry from Saturday until next Friday with a mix of sun and clouds.
