AI GeneratedMeteorologist Skyler provides an update on active weather patterns across the region. While severe thunderstorm warnings for the lower Hudson Valley have expired, heavy rain and high wind gusts continue to move into western Connecticut and New York City's five boroughs, with a severe thunderstorm watch remaining in effect until 10 p.m.
It's been a busy day weather-wise.
It sure has. Skyler's here with the latest for you.
Marissa and Kevin, unfortunately this evening continues to be busy.
Now, I do have some updates that are good news.
The first is going to be that that lower
Hudson Valley severe thunderstorm warning
that was for Putnam, for Westchester,
and for portions of Orange County,
that's out of the way.
We're continuing to monitor this one
that's heading into portions of Litchfield County,
bringing all of that rain
that was impacting portions of Putnam and Dutchess,
just combining my words there, into portions of Litchfield.
So that's going to continue until 7.15 tonight.
It's for some of those gusts
that are radar estimated around 60 miles per hour.
So this continues to move into portions of western Connecticut.
And then we have portions of this out in New Jersey
that's going to move into areas of the Bronx and Brooklyn.
So unfortunately, we still do have another hour
or so of this that we're continuing to monitor.
And you can see still some of those downpours
that are on the way to the five boroughs.
But in terms of that severe thunderstorm watch,
that does extend until 10 p.m. tonight.
We're going to continue to keep an eye on that.
This is continuing to move through.
It's an active situation.
We'll keep you updated every step of the way.
