The largest galaxy ever found | Science to relax

#sciencetosleep #astronomy #galaxies
How big can a galaxy get? The journey starts in the backyard, with the two Magellanic Clouds, galaxies you can see with the naked eye from the Southern Hemisphere, and ends at the largest known galaxy: IC 1101, which a 2026 study measured at almost two million light-years from end to end. Along the way: the Guarani names of the Clouds, the collision with Andromeda that may never happen, a giant galaxy that looks like a ghost, and black hole jets bigger than any galaxy.

Close your eyes, take a deep breath and let the voice carry you. An episode to relax and learn without hurry, or to listen to before sleep.
