Ilhan Omar's husband snaps at reporters as rumours swirl she fled the US amid investigation

Ilhan Omar’s husband, Tim Mynett, was pressed about the whereabouts of the Somali-born US Representative.

While walking their dog, Mynett was questioned about whether Omar “left the country” following a raid on her Washington, DC home.

“There are rumours that the congresswoman left the country; is that true?” A reporter asked.

Mynett refused to answer whether he fled the US, instead arguing the reporters’ presence is “annoying the hell out of all the neighbours”.

Following Homeland Security Investigators raiding Omar’s home on Monday, the Representative has not been seen publicly since.

The raid followed an ongoing criminal investigation into fraud in Omar, with authorities probing her immigration paperwork.
