Black and White Photography - "Imogen Cunningham" | Featured Artist

Imogen Cunningham was an American photographer, who occupies a singular position in the history of American art of the 20th century.

For 70 years Imogen's camera explored, with innovation and a unique perspective, all the major traditions associated with the medium of photography as an art form.

She joined the art movements of pictorialism and surrealism with her own style and was a founding member of the f.64 Group, a progressive photo group pursuing sharp focus and fine details within photography.

Imogen created artistic portraits and photographs of botanical imagery, recorded her family with her camera and pursued street photography, nude studies, still lifes and self-portraits. There was little in her seven-decade career that escaped her eye!
