Wednesday, everyone.
I'm meteorologist Claire Anderson in the Fox 13 Weather Center.
A beautiful afternoon has returned with plenty of sunshine,
and that continues here.
Heading into our Thursday and Friday,
more sunshine, nice warm temperatures.
So get ready for this last warm-up before we start to see some changes.
Now, could these be the last 70-degree temperatures of the year?
Well, the likelihood is high, and I'll show you
a breakdown of that in just a moment.
And we are going to see some cooler temperatures
with scattered showers Saturday.
drier for Sunday but overall we'll definitely start
to see some changes here to the forecast
let's talk temperatures today mid 60s
for Seattle along with Seattle Tacoma Olympia 64 out
towards Forks 62 for Bellingham 66
for Wenatchee usual high temperature this time of year is in
the low 60s so several degrees above average even
further above average over the next several days
a good three to five degrees warmer today even compared
to yesterday it'll be about 10 degrees
above average tomorrow now let's take a look
at the next several afternoons so this is important
low 70s Thursday Friday mild for Saturday
but we do cool down Sunday and into early next week
let's break down 70s
when is the latest we typically see it well on average between the
8th and the 9th is when we typically see it now
the last seven years most of those last 70 degree
dates have been at some point in October now
the earliest on record was September 6th that was the
earliest that we saw those cool conditions.
And the latest we've ever seen a 70 degree day
is November 8th of 2016.
So it's been a few years since we've seen that. But yeah,
we're kind of right on track for that last temperature warm up.
Now, high pressure builds
here heading into this afternoon,
along with Thursday and Friday, bringing us those nice
warm temperatures thanks to this offshore flow.
Now, earlier today, we did see that weak front
move through. We saw it last night into early this morning,
bringing some cloudier conditions
and early sprinkles but into this afternoon
and evening skies are clearing and that continues here
into those overnight hours.
Rainfall total from those weak showers that move through about a
quarter of an inch between Forks only a few hundredths
of an inch between Bellingham as well
as Hoquiam. Future cast for tonight we
do see clear conditions a few areas of patchy fog to
start our Thursday with more sunshine
into the afternoon very similar story heading into our
Friday. Winds tonight pick up a little bit.
We'll see some gustier cascade gap winds for Thursday,
especially North Bend, the Cascade Foothills, Gold Bar.
You'll see that into our Thursday,
into our Friday as well. So we'll be watching that for you.
Temperatures tonight, upper 40s
to low 50s. Tomorrow, your outdoor forecast,
dry pause for walking the dog and a great day to get
out and rake some leaves because we'll see some
showers again heading into Saturday. Tomorrow,
Highs in the low 70s, Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia,
mid 60s for Bellingham, 70 for Wenatchee, 70s out towards Forks.
And your extended forecast, mid 70s for Friday,
light showers, Saturday, drier Sunday.
